Porsche have the best engineers; BMW have the smartest marketers. The BMW is way over-priced, but that's sensible - you can charge that, so why not charge that, if people are daft enough to pay it? GT3s meanwhile, are immediately sold on the secondhand market for much more than they were bought new for - so why doesn't Porsche put the price up? It's not like they're making anywhere near enough of them to satisfy demand - and that keeps them seeming 'special' so I can see why they do that (however much I dislike it) - but why not just bung on another 50,000 Euros?
@Robert Bowling - yeah, there is about 300kg about that Black series. They are just too heavy. If they make them lighter one day, I will sit up and pay attention.
The Merc is just amazing to me, it has a great presence, it is still very quick, pretty much as quick as the M3, but it still has all the comfort and luxury the M3 GTS stripped away, and is better than the other two on the road. So, yes it's a bit slower than the GT3 RS4.0, but who cares, with this sound and these looks :)
Ryan Meek Well, if the stock sound is great, and you can still improve it with better exhausts, it becomes even better than an average sound with great exhausts :)
this was by far the best car review i watched for a while and im a car freak watching every episode of almost every car show out there. camera angles , noises of cars and chris's driving skills was so much fun to watch. thank you for that proper review
It's so cool looking back at this video now. The 997 GT3 RS still stands out, even though we have the newer generation now. And no one destroys rear tires as well as Chris Harris!

Considering how much the AMG offers besides speed, I would take it over the other two. The sound, the looks, the power, and the luxury put the other two to shame when you see nothing was sacrificed. If you had to drive one everyday you would end up changing to the Black.

Beemer looks phenomenal and it's the prettiest of the three imo. Just an amazing looking and performing car, and it doesn't have that silly bodykit on like AMG. It's just spot on. If I had to choose just one it would be GTS no doubt.
+Nicolas Roulin How wrong you are. Porsche has been using turbos in racing since the 80's... 956/962. The next series of 911's (2017) will be flat 4's with turbos. You can thank the new CAFE rules for that.
I agree with Trumanhw, Chris Harris is by far the best car-journalist there is. I enjoy his videos and interpretations of the cars he is testing the most, the reason being is his similar character to myself, as well as a similar driving style. It is great in this respect as I can expect a similar experience for myself. I also must say this too, the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is by far one of my favorite cars, even if they sell here used for $330,000+!
The W204 C63 AMG Black Series is, hands down, one of the meanest, most vicious cars Germany ever made! I love that car excruciatingly! Simply one of the greatest. But the Porsche 911 deserve all the respect in the world! Both the C63 and 911 GT3 are legends in their own respects. Can't say the same about the M3. That car lost it's luster to me years ago. The ride is hard, the steering is tough, doesn't seem like a car you'd feel comfortable driving everyday. The M5 has the same problem over the E63 S. While the E63 is heavier, it's faster, more powerful, has a damn good all wheel drive system (the W212 E63 S starting from 2014 is the first E63 with 4Matic), on top of being more comfortable, having more fluid steering and, in my opinion, better looks. I think if you want hard, competition style racetrack car, BMW may be for you, but if you want a refined, easy going daily driver with a bad attitude, that you'd feel comfortable taking on long trips and daily commutes, AMG may be in your favor. But cars like the M6 and X5 M will keep MB and Porsche busy for years. Want sport? Look at Audi :)

Harris is the BEST car-journalist ever. But...I think admitting with too little fare that the car he drives may also be a car to which he gets to the limit better.
How could anyone choose anything but the Porsche between these 3? I know the Merc sounds bonkers and has a great personality about it, but Porsche's are just soooo beautiful and impeccably engineered. You could buy a GT3 and know that you'll easily have that car for the rest of your life if you look after it the way it deserves :)
What kind of stupid are you? Porsche is a great car, but so is the Mercedes AMG. BMW M is alright. I would personally take the AMG over the Porsche because it has more personallity and is less "wow-bam in your face". And it has a way better sound than the Porsche.
Honestly, I couldn't choose if I had the money to buy all 3. Personally they all look, sound, and perform amazingly to me so I preferences over one another in each category is by half a hair width. If I was going to have an M3 (which I love too), I'd have the standard. the C63 doesn't do much for me, I bet its amazing though.
I'm a massive fan of drive and I was happy to pay my sub for it but where are the videos like this on Drive +. I don't mean to offend and I know there's been a lot of teething issues but the vid quality seems to have gone down in comparison to these epic bad boys. We need more content and longer videos to warrant the fee guys. That's my opinion after just over a month of Drive +
I mostly agree, the vids are much shorter now, and a lot of the time they have less cars/less expensive cars available. However I think the production value has increased massively in the new vids.
If I'm not mistaken though, Drive+ is not legitimately free on Dailymotion, instead it's pirated copies that are being posted. The guys are just trying to make a living, so cheap skates trying to dodge paying for it really annoys me.
We see a few grand in tires destroyed in every episode. I don't understand how they get access to all these expensive tires lol. Can i has some new tires too?

The RS4.0 is mid- rear engine mount but only got "a bit" less understeer then the front engine mount M3 GTS? Anyway, I think Porsche GTS is the car to compete with this 2 not, GT3 RS 4.0, at least not "RS 4.0"
I would deftly take the Porsche over the Mercedes and definitely over the BMW. I have a lot of respect for Mercedes. But I have even more respectful Porsche engineering. There's nothing like German engineering. I'm just not much of a fan of BMW. My father always called BMW, "big money wasted." I know it's a matter of opinion. I find myself agreeing with him.

Well when they ask to borrow the cars the dealers know they are performance cars and that they will abuse the tires so they give them extras :-)

There's nothing like German engineering. I'm just not much of a fan of BMW. My father always called BMW, "big money wasted." I know it's a matter of opinion. I find myself agreeing with him.
+Scott Hill your respect is a matter of your perception and knowledge. since they are very short of reality and even if not, you are not entitled to set your respect here as a benchmark
+MrTiti I love your first sentence, seriously, it's very well put and makes me think more about that statement. However I'm not understanding your second sentence, to say he can't use what he feels and thinks of the other car brands as for why he does or doesn't like the other cars doesn't make sense. He's not the one in the videos or writing the articles declaring winners and losers off which manufacture he has more respect for, he's a dude stating his opinion and even stated that same thing towards the end of his comment.
+VenomPool i cannot remember anymore what i was thinking. if i read it now you are right. i can only assume what i was thinking. maybe i perceived his personal opinion as too important for the influence to others since it was "well written" and therefore i wanted to "relativate" it so that it doesnt change too much (or so). but i am not entitled to do so, lol, playing "police" or "justice". no idea. btw i am also positively surprised of the first sentence, i rarely speak english
