Bishop Mari is wrong about his comments on Protestants. You cannot lump them all together. Confessional Lutherans do believe that marriage, baptism, communion are sacraments because they were instituted by God. Please see my other comments above. We do believe that the bread and wine are the true body and blood of Christ, and that Christ is “present” with and under the bread and wine. Catholics believe differently from Orthodox and Lutherans. Mari got this one wrong, sorry. It is very frustrating for someone like him, who is well-respected, to spread false-information about the Lutheran faith. (Confessional Lutherans are the true Lutheran Church. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) split off and are very unbiblical regarding certain doctrines. They should not be considered Lutheran. Many Protestant branches are the same - allowing gay marriage, even in the pulpit, is an abomination to God. We are NOT in that category.

Provided that acceptance is not rationalizing denial of truth or current sin yes. Where the Bible makes clear something is right or wrong we are commanded to confront it.
Someone brought up chapter 12 of 2nd Corinthians, but we must remember Paul then went on in chapter 13 that those still unrepentant needed to repent before he arrived again because not one would be spared otherwise.

if that verse that says "he who doesnt eat the flesh and drink the blood has no life" is literal than salvation is works based.
if it is figurative, saying we must spiritually eat the flesh and drink the blood of christ, just as we must be baptised by the spirit, not necessarily water, to be saved, then communion is also figurative representation and reminder of jesus being broken so we may be fixed.

Eastern Orthodox here, the spirit of our Church is that of mourning and humility and we welcome all to join us.
Edit: People seem to be confused about the mourning part, and its sad so EO are jumping on Prot train of thought.
Ok lets explain, “Blessed are those who mourn”? What about the attitude during Metanoia? What about us being taught mourning over ones sins is an act of contrition that deepens humility? What about the attitudes during Lent? meditating and mourning over the periods? We take this way of life and attitude very seriously for there is wisdom and grace in it.
I'm a Pentecostal Protestant. I'm not making fun of the Orthodox. But, what are you mourning? Christ is alive, off the cross, out of the tomb and sitting next to His Father, as we speak. What is there to mourn about? REJOICE, my brother.

28 years of my life as a protestant. Still will be but ive gotta say this man right here is something else. Since ive seen one reel about a week ago ive been more and more interested in his videos. Honestly it wasnt until today that i found out he identifies as catholic. He speaks like a Christain to me. And at the end of the day in this video he is absolutely right. I feel so attached to the Covenanters and Martyrs of the Protestant/ Presbyterian faith in Scotland. I think Protestants need to go back to that humble deep faith based on education. Scotland created schools so everyone could read the Bible, last 30 years we have fallen big time.

As long as Christ Jesus is our foundation, we are one. Who was it that said not to argue over doctrine?.. anyway, as a protestant I call all Christians my brothers and sisters in Christ. As an aside, Mar Mari Emanuel has shown me a lot of Orthodoxy Faith, and I really like it. Over many years I have learnt that Catholics are Christians too, I once believed that they weren't.

Regardless of our denomination, be it Catholic , Orthodox or protestant, we need to be born again to enter Gods kingdom. The parable of the wheat and tares is very sobering. There are those who tend to transcend religion and simply follow Jesus Christ and God's word. I love my brothers and sisters, feel that all sects of Christendom are in error to some degree or other, and some are outright deceived and apostate. Like the Bishop says, we must always appeal to and follow the Holy Spirit.
The true followers of Christ are called Muslims. What's called "Christianity" is also from the Middle East, like Islam. but, it is originally a distorted version of Islam like other religions.
There is only one true religion from the beginning, which is submission/Surrender to God and worshiping Him alone. In Arabic, its name is "Islam", and it is the religion of all the prophets and it is the religion to which they called.
Islam is the truth. I invite you all to Islam, to worship the one true God, being devoted to Him, the religion alone with no partners. The first and last religion is the religion of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and The last and final profit Muhammad ﷺ, and all the prophets, may blessings and peace be upon them.

I use’t to go to an Anglican Church then I had a vision of death praying plus a dream from God too to say to leave and that it was being led by the devil (adorned in gold and jems) they were a good “biblical based” church but without the spirit. In another dream God told me to go to an Orthodox Church (in the dream he gave me the name of it+ I didn’t know it existed). He showed me because I asked. I said I like this church but there’s these things that don’t sit right, what do you (God) think? Then he gave me that vision and dream. Then I didn’t know where to go and he fixed that for me too. Blessed and loving and awesome is our Father who looks after us so well ❤

We believe that the bread is a symbol for his body that was beaten for us so we can be healed. There is no evidence, anywhere, in the transubstantiation. I have an relative who has eyesight problems ----> I ask Saint Luzia (As she is The patron Saint of eyesight, because of The life she lived) to pray for my relative so He/she can be cured ------> Both prayers reach Jesus and by consequence God The Father, and Because Saints are in The Glory of heaven Their prayers are stronger, but God has His time to do things
As time passes, if I keep praying and asking intercession of Saint Luzia, One day God might peform The miracle.
Asking intercession only adds to our prayers

Not all Protestants say that it’s only symbolic, that’s primarily a Baptist thing, Lutherans do believe that it really is the real presence of the body and blood of Christ, and Reformed/Calvinists believe we really do receive the body and blood of Christ but spiritually

The teachings of the apostles regarding the holy communion are summarised in 1 Corinthians 11: 23-30. Anything extra is unbiblical.
Well said. I would also add though there is no 100% perfect denomination here on earth as yet. That will happen when Christ returns as the head of the one and only real Church, which will replace all current denominations. At the moment not even any one person here on earth is perfect but again that will change after Christ returns when true believers are resurrected or instantly changed when still alive, and receive new perfect eternal bodies. Until all that happens when Christ returns, we as individuals have to do our best with the help of the Holy Spirit to carry on as true believers in our imperfect and temporary bodies and churches. As with the Parable of the Ten Virgins, we must be like the five who took it upon themselves to obtain spare oil to be ready and prepared always for His return, be it when we are still alive or after we die before He returns. Keep waiting and watching with joy and anticipation as we know not when He will return. Amen.

Do not ever think of yourselves as slaves of Christ. You have distorted the Gospels and introduced polytheism, superstitions and heresies into the religion. Now the churches have become homosexual, and as for the rape of children in churches by priests And monks, this is another topic entirely. The statistics for that are very frightening, although the statistics include only the incidents that were reported, which is much less than the real number. Praise be to God for the blessing of Islam, the true religion, the religion of Abraham and all the prophets. Save yourselves and your children from the shame and misguidance in which you are.

As a Lutheran I want to say that Protestantism is a term devoid of meaning. In Germany where I come from Lutheranism has direct ties to the apostolic succession and only got rid of those added things that were later added by papal decrees such as letters of absolution in exchange for donations. The sacraments are still kept. I believe it is similar with the anglican church. However there are some who tried to do more than that those were the calvinists, who make up the continental reformed churches and on whose teachings most of the radical reformation denominations as well as later evangelical denominations are based upon. So there are three types of protestantism, counter-papal which are nearly identical to apostolic churches except not acceptinng the authority of the pope (Anglican, Lutheran, maybe a few others), reformers (calvinist, anabaptist), evangelical (baptists, quakers etc.)

First off the original Lutheran bible and some like me use that one today, still keeps the Septuagint only books (what Catholics call the deuterocanonicals). He didn't intend on removing them only to clarify they are not found in the Jewish canon found in the masoretic text. Which for him made them less auhoritatuve or even non-authoritative compared to OT and NT books. Which if you read the books in question you realize most of them add context to practices of first century Jews but they don't add any major insights that are helpful or necessary for christian doctrine. So I understand his view on those. Even though we know now that the Jewish canon we now know is newer than the christian canon.
I believe that we are all brothers in christ and I do believe that the catholic church has come a long way since the time of Luther I just have an issue with the papal authority the celibacy of priests and papal infallibility. The first and last because of their historic implications, Paul IV, John XII, Urban II cough. The second because even the orthodox let married people become priests not bishops which is debatable, but that's at least something.
Would I become catholic if these were resolved probably, granted they also need to go after pedophile priests more strictly, but that should be a case either way. I do agree with a lot of the stuff the old catholic denomination does and they are very similar to us Lutherans, there just isn't one any where near me.

As an eastern Orthodox Christian, the main thing that I like about our church is that we believe in asking the lord for answers for all things mysterious and confusing. We don’t come up with our own theories and interpretations of the bible. That is why we have only two Orthodox branches in more than two thousand years, those two differ very little from each other. Personally I call protestant churches, philosophical churches, since the Protestant religion allows everyone who has knowledge of the Bible to interpret the Bible according to his/her personal understanding, there will not be an end for the creation of different types of denominations among the Protestants.

I don't have a problem either way about communion, but when Jesus said this is my blood pouring the wine and this is my body broken for you when giving bread. I don't think any apostille there actually thought that Jesus was giving his blood and body away before his death, it was symbolic then and a point of reflection what Jesus was about to do and did for us. I do not see this as a deal breaker, I think Jesus would be disappointed in our pettiness if we did so.

Protestants do belive in the holy communion. I believe many just misunderstand that is because of other differences in the other christian sects. Maybe some don't. But to my knowledge I always thought all protestant took part in communion. It is after all in the scripture.
That last bit is what Martin Luther did centuries ago....he was excommunicated because he didn't agree with the "church" of the age.

There was already much evil and corruption within the Vatican at that time. Unfortunately, their evil practices still exist and they are still trying to cover them up. Bishop Mari should not be supporting a church that is getting rich off of sinful, corrupt practices(I.e - now it’s child trafficking). Great answer, going to the the foundation of the Christian faith means going to Christ , the author and finisher of our faith. You are totally failing to understand that the reason why Christ pointed out the flaws in a church era is because there were ppl calling God a liar, compromising with His doctrines, or wholesale rejecting His doctrines. Both the Roman Church and the Eastern orthodox church teach a works salvation which is in error to the true Gospel that we are saved by faith in Christ alone not works.
That's not what they believe, essentially they believe to be saved is through faith but to keep salvation is through works(on top of faith). We see that in James 2:14-17 "What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
@LiamMurray852 it is because they teach you must believe in Jesus and keep the sacraments to be saved when the bible is clear that its faith in Jesus alone that saves, that's not to say a person who has saving faith will not have works, someone who believes in Jesus is sealed with the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit will be evident in one's life as shown in Galatians 5:22 thus as james mentions faith without works is dead but its not our works that merit anything to salvation, Jesus alone saves.

As a Confessional Lutheran we have the Sacraments. Holy baptism which saves us and Holy Communion where the bread and wine IS the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ given to us for the forgiveness of sins.

This is the Truth , as Christian we must not do things on our own , making ourselves priests that are not appointed by God , if we appoint ourselves then we become Korah in the Old Testament which then will you go against God, which is the LGBTQ+ ect . Which goes against God‘s teachings Mar Maria Emanuel is so right about how we should go back to the old teachings of the New Testament how the church was first formed if we do things our own way shows it in the New Testament when they were building the churches that they went astray , doing things their own way. You see in the beginning when Adam and Eve did things their own way they got kicked out of the garden of Eden. you want to do things how God wants us to do them?
Any church I've been in whether Pentecostal or Non-denominational which is what I've been a part of for 30 years we've always said the bread is the body of Christ's which was broken for us and then the wine(juice) is the blood of Christ that was shed for the remission of sins that we may step freely into the Holy of Holies and gain direct access with the Father and His son and have Holy Spirit with us to guide, convict and give us discernment as a friend and brother. I'd be so lost without the Holy Spirits guidance and leading!
As a Christian belonging to protestant I do belive it is the body and blood of Christ not just bread and whine, my priest told me this. But I think any truly convicted Christians will agree that it is in Christ we have our salvation, meaning to have faith in CHrist and give your life to christ that is the absolute fundamental, and then we unite around that.

As a non practicing protestant I'm really leaning into eastern Orthodoxy it seems to me to be the only one true christian denomination
So when we go back to Christ we see him calling the liquid in the cup "fruit of the vine" (wine) even after he called it his blood.
"Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this *FRUIT OF THE VINE* from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” [Matthew 26 : 27 - 29]
This is how we know Jesus was using a metaphor when he said the wine is his blood.
The wine symbolizes his blood.
When we go back to Christ we see him teaching that the flesh counts for nothing in order to make it clear to the crowd he did not want them to literally eat his flesh.
"The Spirit gives life; *THE FLESH COUNTS FOR NOTHING.* The words I have spoken to you-they are full of the Spirit and life." [John 6 : 63]
Yes, Jesus taught that to literally eat his flesh counts for NOTHING.
And in the middle of his teaching in John 6 Jesus told them, "Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life." [John 6 : 47] so those with ears to hear would realized to eat the flesh of Jesus really means to believe in Jesus.
So many people fall into the mistake of Nicodemus thinking that Jesus is speaking literally.
When Jesus told Nicodemus he must be born again to see the kingdom of God Nicodemus asked, “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” [John 3 : 4]
Jesus spelled it out for him by saying, “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." [John 3 : 6]
Jesus was using a physical event (birth) to point to a spiritual truth.
This is how we know we are not literally eating the flesh of Jesus in the Eucharist.
Eating flesh counts for nothing.
Trusting our life to Christ is what will give us eternal life.
Putting our trust into Jesus is what eating his flesh really means.
As Protestant, my view on Eucharist is that we don't get to pick the truth. True body and true blood sound better then that is symbolic, but we just don't think that's the truth, based on Scripture
