Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches did not have separate origins, but where one and the same whole Church. Differences started appearing when the Roman empire split in two, one in the East, Byzantine and one in the west, Rome. They still kept communion with each other though political tensions started with some eastern bishops disapproval of papal authority which they saw as the West trying to lord over them. These little tensions continued over the centuries until they split in 1054 AD.

I agree. It’s painful to see that different sects of the church go at each other online - when in all truth, all of us as followers of Christ makes us more similar than different.
That is quite possible for Orthodox and Roman West as they have been the same Church but it would be impossible to incorporate Protestants and they would need to convert.
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “The tendency toward jealousy can exist within the Church when Catholics resent holiness and goodness being attained by non-Catholics. Instead we should all be able to always appreciate and respect each other, praising the Lord when he acts in the Church and in the world.”
All are a part of the body of Christ. We are all part of the “Pilgrim Church on Earth”. The “True Church” awaits. It is the faith in our individual hearts that count. The Kingdom of God is here and now. Once we discern this, we act accordingly. Not easy to do here, but I keep trying my brothers and sisters.

We can argue all day about who is the original church or we can unite as brothers and sisters in Christ and follow the teachings of our lord and savior Jesus Christ?! 🙏🏻✝️
That would be nice but there is schism at the moment and that is a sin. In order to unite, there needs to be unity in faith, doctrine and practice. The Protestant churches would also need to consolidate and get rid of any idea of denominations and return to the Apostolic faith. Then east and west would have to sort out a few issues like the filioque and papal supremacy.

As an orthodox christian, i dont harbor any animosity or ill will towards protestants or catholics. They are my brothers and sisters in christ. I just personally dont enjoy the protestant bland show of faith that just consists of overly loud singing, proclaiming gods name in vain and in things that only you yourself can change and take action in, which is why we have intelligence. I just often get the impression that protestants dont take faith and piety too seriously. Art, sculptures, chants, wearing a cross, effort are what makes faith stand out as genuine.
Nothing you just said is what the gospel focuses on Sculpture 😂😂😂 chants😂Laughing You should read the Bible I wonder if you know even 3 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled as messhia
Do you hold any animosity against Christians that follow the bible and are saved by grace through Jesus Christ and know we don't need to eat a wafer to receive Him? Are people that follow a semi pagan religion still brothers in Christ when they follow a manmade dogma instead of the word of God? Art, sculptures, chants, wearing a cross, does not a make one a believer. I guess Madona who wears or use to wear a cross, shows her faith.

There’s a joke A priest and taxi driver reach the gates of heaven and are greeted by Peter Peter says welcome good and faithful servant let me show you to yo ur inheritance Peter takes the taxi driver up a hill to a big mansion The priest gets excited Kos if the driver got that then he shall get a huge reward Peter then takes the priest into the wet mouldy valley to a run down leaking shack Peter says this is your inheritance The priest perplexed as he believes he deserves more as he has been a faithful servant all his life. He begins to question why he didn’t get something more To which Peter replies ‘when you spoke in church people fell asleep, when the taxi driver drove people prayed’
What would Peter be doing at the gates of heaven as he is in a grave and will get there when the rest of us do. What kind of priest is it because Christ's church did not have priests in a leadership role.
There is another one where it's the Pope and a politician. When the Pope asked why he didn't get a mansion Peter said, "We have plenty of Popes up here this is our first politician."

@@sammygomes7381They do. The bread and wine used in the Holy Eucharist do become the Body and Blood of Christ. In a prayer that the priest reads before giving communion to himself and the deacon (and again to the people), he says "I believe, O Lord, and I confess, that Thou art truly the Christ, the Son of the Living God, who camest into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first. I believe also that THIS IS TRULY THINE OWN MOST PURE BODY AND THIS IS THINE OWN PRECIOUS BLOOD. Therefore I pray thee, have mercy on me, and forgive me all my transgressions, voluntary and involuntary, in word and in deed, in knowledge and in ignorance, and vouchsafe (make worthy) me to partake without condemnation of Thy most pure Mysteries, unto the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting (eternal). Amen. Of Thy Mystical Supper, O Son of God, accept me today as a communicant. For I will not speak of Thy Mysteries to Thine enemies, neither like Judas will I give Thee a kiss, but like the thief will I confess Thee: Remember me, O Lord, in Thy Kingdom. May the communion of Thy Holy Mysteries be unto me for judgement or unto condemnation, O Lord, but unto the healing of soul and body, and unto life everlasting (eternal). Amen." The important points of this prayer are the following. Orthodox believe that Jesus Christ came to the world to save sinners. They admit their own sinfulness and unworthiness. They believe in the Real Presence (the bread and wine are actually the Body and Blood of Christ, not mere symbols). Knowing this, they ask for forgiveness and to be granted to partake of the Body and Blood of Christ without condemnation. The Eucharist is a special moment in an Orthodox Christian's life, which he (or she) prepares for through prayer, fasting (unless excused for health reasons by the priest), and confession of one's sins. Additionally, Orthodox Christians should be reconciled to others when they approach the chalice to receive the Body and Blood of the Lord. This is especially true for the priest who will celebrate the Divine Liturgy, the deacon who will assist him, and the other readers, singers, and servers who assist in the orderly and beautiful glorification and worship of God. The word Orthodoxy comes from the Greek words orthos = right, proper and doxa = glory. Other translations have preserved this meaning, whether Православіе (право/правильно = right, слава = glory) in Russian or Dreapta credința (Drept (cf. direct) = right, cred (cf. credo, creed) = belief) in Romanian. In this context, it makes sense why the Orthodox seek after order in their divine services and in their beliefs. The Eucharist, celebrated as part of the Divine Liturgy, is one of the most important moments, if not the most important moment, in an Orthodox Christian's life. I thank God that I have had the opportunity to serve in the altar and witness this majestic act of God being performed first-hand.
Romans 14, Titus 3:9, Tells us not to argue with other believers. Especially about little things. If your church is sound and follows Scripture, there is no need to argue. If you are saved by the blood of Christ and believe in His sacrifice for your sins, and give your life to Him, what is there to argue about? We are brothers and sisters under God. Fighting for what? Whose church looks the coolest? Whose church can have the most traditions? Whose church can prove it is from direct apostolic succession? What does it matter; we are one family through the sacrifice of our Savior.
Yeah, look, you'll never catch me attacking other Christians. I don't believe in that, and I don't think it solves any of our problems. Having said that, as a Catholic, I think Christians across the board should avail themselves of Sacred Tradition: 2000 years of writings by the saints, church fathers, popes, etc. After Sacred Scripture, it's the next best way we have to help us to a fuller understanding of the Faith. This is my personal invitation to my Protestant brethren (the Eastern Orthodox already do this) because I love you guys. Pax.

@@mandyxdijk5195 the term catholic means “universal” yes Jesus is catholic. But you go on to state that we believe popes are holy, well first off we must look into what the pope is. Going by the biblical standard the pope is the ultimate preserver of Christ and his word, now do we believe the pope is “holy” by your definition no we do not. We do address the pope as “holy father” though but this title is in reference that he is the ultimate bishop as we also call priests father. The term “holy father” does not mean that the pope will go to heaven nor does it mean that the pope is perfect, it is only a title that associates him with God. Now going by what you imply, I assume when you say Holy you refer to a person who is perfect. And no not only God is without sin but some angels are an so is our Mother Mary
There is no evidence that Jesus founded the Catholic or Orthodox church. It is likely built on a lie that has no evidence that Peter founded the church, but there is no evidence of this
@@mandyxdijk5195catholic means universal, universal beliefs, sometimes those beliefs found in scripture and other oral truths had to be fully discussed in order to figure what these truths were, such as the Trinity. I believe it took six coucils to figure out the full understanding of the Trinity. One cannot figure out from scripture alone all the different complexities of the Trinity. So Catholics had to have councils to discuss and decipher the true meanings of what were in scripture. They appealed to reason and to the oral teachings of the Apostles. Also, whether or not you call the early Christian Jews by that name or call them Catholics they still followed the same teachings of Christ. Those who misunderstood certain aspects of the faith passed onto them appealed to higher authority in order to understand the aspect of the Christian faith, the Catholic, universal truths, these titles are synonymous in those decades. If they did not appeal to authority, that authority, the authority of Christ's Apostles and later those who followed in the same paths of the Apostles, those who did not appeal to authority, those in authority, when hearing of their dispute amongst the true teachings of the faith were corrected in their understanding of the faith. In the bible we see many letters of Paul writing to the faithful. No matter whether you call Peter by that name of Pope or Father, it became prominently known of his leadership amongst men. Christ established Him as the head of His Church, "You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it, and I give to you the keys of heaven, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you lose on earth will be loosed in heaven". There is only one example of Christ's particular setting aside of Peter from the disciples. In building His Church, Christ expected their to be many uprisings and misunderstandings of the true faith, what is it that is necessary in order that we may become closer to God and what is that pushes further away from that goal? The true faith is a gift to us and there are many graces that Christ wished to give us to help us on our journey to heaven. Catholics call them Holy because they show respect to the popes as they receive directly from the Holy Spirit the deposit of faith. Inspirations received from the Holy Spirit are discussed among the Magisterium and prayed about to discover what the true dogmas that Christ wishes us to follow. Most of these dogmas were not recent though there have been some that are, for example: the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. Also, though many of the leaders of the jewish faith of Christ's time were often wicked and self-absorbed, Christ still respected their authority and though there have been a few wicked popes in Catholic Church history, we still respect their position of authority since Christ established that we should continue that succession. "Hold fast to the traditions which have been passed down to you whether written or in oral statements of ours" St. Paul writes. There were many errors that crept into the way people understood the faith and so it was necessary to have positions of authority to be able to "hold fast" to those traditions. Last comment, no one but God alone and Mary were perfect. God in God perfection, Mary in human perfection of virtue (and if I need to prove that I can, let me know, I'm here to help you on your journey to God and if there be any error in what i am saying, show me through reason and scripture why it is that I err in my thinking). But yes only they were perfectly holy and we who are imperfect are called to perfection: "be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect" and another verse "For human beings this is impossible, but for God all things are possible". Like Mary, it is necessary that we say yes to His will always in order that we may become perfect. It is a process, everything is a process, nothing that requires a perfection in something comes easily but only for God who has always been perfected in virtue and Mary who was preserved by God from original sin. If we are to follow Christ, we must keep His commands and listen to His words that we may once again be restored by God to our original holiness, that is our original perfection of being before Adam and Eve sinned. If we obey God, we shall be saved for He has opened the gates to paradise that Adam and Eve closed by their disobedience to God and we once again are asked, shall you serve? And because Christ has opened the gates to eternal life, we can choose to say yes and our yes is our acceptance of his gift of salvation to us.
The Orthodox say they are right, the Roman Catholics say they are right, and the Protestants say they are right One thing is for sure, there must be a wrong religion, there must be a right religion, there cannot be 3 religions that are right at the same time, but let Jesus judge who is right and who is wrong. All religions should focus on worshiping God. Amen!

If you accept this system, you must accept the rules. Facts are irrelevant. This is your only choice which doesn’t include options & exceptions. Rules are rules! If, however, you are in a belief system based on logic, reason, observation & common sense, & no reliance on spirituality or religion, the conclusion is totally different. As a Roman Catholic, I resonate deeply with the Orthodox Church’s understanding of hell and the theological differences we share with Protestantism on this topic. Protestant views on hell often seem influenced more by Dante’s Divine Comedy than by scripture, leading to misconceptions about its nature. It’s important to clarify that the idea of hell as a fiery place of eternal torment is not rooted in scripture but is largely a cultural and literary construct. In both Roman Catholicism and Orthodoxy, hell is understood as separation from God-a state chosen by free will, not imposed by a vengeful deity. Our faiths teach that God is a God of love and mercy, offering the gift of free will so profoundly that each individual can freely choose to follow Christ or turn away. As Jesus Himself said, "Whoever is not with me is against me." This free will underscores the responsibility we have in our spiritual lives. Moreover, in Catholic theology, the concept of purgatory is often misunderstood as a "lesser hell," but it is, in fact, a state of purification for those who die in God’s grace but still need to be cleansed of sin before entering heaven. This is distinct from hell, which is the eternal separation from God chosen by those who reject Him. I deeply respect the Orthodox Church for its commitment to scripture and tradition, maintaining a theological consistency that avoids the oversimplified or culturally influenced notions of hell that are prevalent in some Protestant circles. Both our traditions remind us of the profound love and mercy of God, balanced with the responsibility and weight of free will.
If anyone can help me understand why does Protestant believe in faith only? Reason why I ask is because if you have faith don’t you perform the good works as well?
Because Martin Luther and Jean Cauvin (John Calvin) said a human can only be saved by Christ and His Word. Soli Deo Gloria, Calvin wrote about Sola Scriptura, only the scripture, Sola Fide, only faith Sola Gratia, only by the grace of God through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Yes that's true, but Jesus said himself "whoever believes in me shall be granted eternal life" and you can also look at when the thief on the cross was saved by Jesus, simply by putting his faith in him.
Good deeds arise from the faith. Our deeds are a reflection of our faith. But what we believe is that we cannot be saved because of our merit or good deeds but rather by faith in the righteousness & saving grace of Christ.. the works then follow as a result of the God’s redeeming power in the person. & that is how one can recognise whether a person is saved or not by the fruits of his or her spirit. Good works are definitely needed to be done because Jesus says that if you love me you will keep my commandants. But they are not the reason we are saved because Paul said that it is by grace through faith that one is saved so that no man can boast in their own self or works.
Yes absolutely. This video massively generalized Protestants and the sola’s Luther taught. Take a moment and look up how Martin Luther defines faith. It’s much more than just saying you believe.
Your good works do not affect your salvation.. now what is salvation? That's the process of being saved.. what are you being saved from? You're being saved from judgement due to the sins you committed in the past Now think about it, do you think any amount of good work can save you from your sin? Obviously not, the only thing that saves us is the blood of Christ and only faith in him gets us access to that
Can we all agree that the entire video is filled with a confused scattered approach, generalizations that render any conclusion null and void. The main take away is this is what we can expect as AI has increasing influence on humanity.
First Satan used the clever donkeys of the mother Catholic Church to deceive everyone with their replacement theology that created a parallel religion. Now Satan is giving them AI as a tool to do the same dirty work and wreak havoc. To whom is God saying "Fallen fallen is Babylon the Great" and "Come out of her My People" ??? Watch God pulverize the Catholic Church and her daughters - AI and all. Keep your distance or better still come to the place God called us to be. The place where God's people are supposed to be before it's too late. God is now separating the goats from the sheep. Those who use the narrow road and are "Overcomers" will become the pillars of God's temple. God has not asked us to do some improvement, damage control or any kind of one-upmanship or tweaking. 'Come out of Her' means just that - Come out of Her. Leave. "These people come near to me with their mouths and honour me with their lips but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up of rules (and traditions) taught by men. You worship me in vain. Therefore in one day I will... ... Do your homework brothers. You can see God is very, very upset. Let me urge you even more by quoting from Hosea 4:6 'My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have REJECTED KNOWLEDGE, [( 'spiritual knowledge' as opposed to encyclopaedic knowledge)] I also reject you as my priests; because you have IGNORED THE LAW OF YOUR GOD, I also will ignore your children. New Living Translation My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me. Since you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children. If you follow Jesus don't take this lightly. You are given just this one chance. Don't experiment to find out. Experience keeps a dear school but fools will learn in no other.😮
The IHM TREE of life project th-cam.com/video/Aa9OQHXR27A/w-d-xo.html A visual history of the Catholic Church from creation to present in the shape of a church . Plus the relationship of protestant churches as Christian brother and sisters in Christ.
The question of who originated first in Christianity is clear-cut. Originally, there were five main Christian churches working as one - think of a board of directors: Constantinople (today's Istanbul, where it started as an official religion of the Roman Empire), Antioch, Jerusalem, Alexandria, and Rome. Each location was established by the Apostles of Jesus and led by a bishop. These five can be seen as five brother churches. In 1054, the Bishop of Rome sought independence, leading to a significant split. The four remaining churches became known as the Orthodox rite Churches - deemed the right or original path - as they largely preserved the Christian Apostolic tradition as taught by the Apostles themselves. The church that separated evolved into what we now know as the Catholic Church. While Catholics and Orthodox Christians share many similarities, there are notable points of disagreement: - The use of unleavened bread in communion, which is considered a minor issue. - The Catholic Church's requirement for clerical celibacy, in contrast to Orthodoxy, where clergy may marry. - The Filioque clause in the Nicene Creed (325 AD) raises further distinction: Orthodox belief states that the Holy Spirit proceeds "from the Father" based on John 15:26, while the Catholic Church later added "and the Son" in the 6th century.
Actually the differences are often bigger inside/STRAIGHT THROUGH DENOMNATIONS THAN BETWEEN THEM-between individual preachers. I am myself a deeply believing christian. I am formally a Lutheran, but I am active in different christan denominations. I choose on sundays after the invidual precacher more than after denomination. For example the Catholic vicar in our town actually preaches MORE LUTHERAN than some priests in my own formally Lutheran church. (Church of Sweden). I thiink that individual preachers in most christian denominations may have the Holy Spirit with them in sermon, while other prechers in the same denomination may not have. The denominations are far from homogenous. It can differ very much within the same denomination on the distance of only 2 tram-stops. I allways choose theologically conservative preachers (not politically but theologically) who preach the classic christian message. I think I can sometimes somewhat sense if the Holy Spirit is there or if it is not so. I think it´s important christians cooperate over denominational boundaries in todays world-where islam is predicted to be biggest religion in 2070-in 50 years from today (because of relatively high nativities.)
I find it very frustrating when people, explaining the Protestant/Lutheran beliefs, primarily focus on the sola scriptura and sometimes sola fide There’s three more solas, which are very important in the Lutheran doctrine
Well I personally don’t believe in sola scriptura simply because of how easy it is for people to twist the words of the Bible to their own agenda. Yes, the Bible IS the ultimate authority as it is the word of God, but just because it’s the word of God doesn’t mean that you should come to your own conclusion about what it means. You need a combination of your own faith and the help of people experienced with church doctrines to properly understand the Bible. By saying you should interpret the Bible on your own you are basically saying you have more authority over thousands of years of teachings by theologians and people way more well versed in concepts such as theosis and how to properly carry out the sacraments. The church is very much so needed still. Now, that doesn’t mean I don’t believe going to a Protestant church is wrong as I think as long as you go to a truly Christian church then you are fine. I just don’t believe that you should just avoid church because you think the Bible is all you need.
@@memesouls8653 and I agree with you! Sola Scriptura isn’t about you and your own interpretation, because the Bible is so complicated, we need the church to decide dogma and teachings. The church is indeed very important. But the people of the church change over time, why I wouldn’t say their authority is above the Bible, because it’s unchangeable and therefore the best guideline for dogmatic development.
In my opinion people from many different denominations will be saved. God is faithful. Many people will be surprised, so better don't be arrogant whatever denonination's believes you follow/feel most close to your faith.
We are not saved by traditions, sacraments , works, lineage, ceremony, or elaborate buildings. “We are saved by Grace through faith alone, not as the result of works lest any man should boast. We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which He prepared beforehand.” The message of salvation through Christ is in the Bible. It does not require genius to comprehend it. In fact you must trust with the faith of a child as Jesus taught. Anyone who is born again has the indwelling Holy Spirit. They have the mind of Christ. They have a high priest who ever intercedes for them. Christ is totally sufficient. There is nothing we do that creates any extra dispensation of grace or favor. If that’s what your church teaches you’re in the right place. You’re following the only thing that never changes- the inspired word of God.
lol You misquoted the Bible. Paul never said “faith alone”. Martin Luther inserted that. The only Bible verse you’ll find that says “faith alone” is in James, as a negative, Faith and works were never meant to be separated, they were always meant to be one, as in “faithfulness”.
Faith alone cannot save you because your faith and thoughts are fragile. They can be subject to emotional situations which have nothing to do with reality. You have to get out of your individualism to participate in the truth of God who himself exists in the way of a relationship (Holy Trinity). This is also why your relationship to Christ can only be true through the Church. Because there you'll meet all kind of humans, the interaction with them will show you what kind of person you really are. Outside the church there is no Christ
@@christosanastasiadis8735 Pretty sure we are saved by the word of Christ not a church. We are saved the moment we put our faith and trust in Jesus Chris. No water, no priest, no church, no sacraments, required, just the word of God and one's willingness to believe.

I'll follow Christ and stay with the Christian church. Reading of the New Testament will reveal that the Catholic Church does not have its origin in the teachings of Jesus or His apostles. In the New Testament, there is no mention of the papacy, worship/adoration of Mary (or the immaculate conception of Mary, the perpetual virginity of Mary, the assumption of Mary, or Mary as co-redemptrix and mediatrix), petitioning saints in heaven for their prayers, apostolic succession, the ordinances of the church functioning as sacraments, infant baptism, confession of sin to a priest, purgatory, indulgences, or the equal authority of church tradition and Scripture. We are not saved by sacraments; we are saved by faith. As one can see the origin of the Catholic Church is not in the teachings of Jesus and His apostles.

@@AndreasPoullas nope, the holy apostolic Catholic Church isn't per definition only Roman Catholic nor only Eastern Orthodox. catholic means 'in general''. Roman Catholic is the Rome version of Catholic Church but not the worldwide apostolic universal church.
No. Bible never specifically mentions needing an apostolic succession and even if, Catholicism has had numerous “anti-popes” through history, breaking that chain many many times so even the RCC can’t claim to have a solid apostolic succession. That video did not mentioned that during the great schism in 1054 the Orthodox Church broke away from the Catholic Church through its founder Michael Cerularius. Technically, the Eastern Orthodox agree in the Primacy in its intended meaning; that Peter is the first among equals and that the church was collegiate. Peter was not the one bishop of the entire church but the first among equals. As soon as Rome returns to the original apostolic model, the church can be one again.
@@andys3035 first among equals, how’s that working so far among Eastern Orthodox? As someone raised with Evangelical Protestant beliefs, I see flaws in Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox traditions. Ultimately, accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is what matters most. > I believe that someone should not pray to vargin Mary because she is not omnipotent nor omnipresent i.e, she can't hear your prayers. > Excommunication of someone by the Pope or Bishop is invalid, no man can undone what Jesus Christ has done for mankind. > You can't go to haven by doing good deeds and donating money to the church. Jesus is the only way to our salvation. > Salvation cannot be lost, once someone is born again through Christ, it last forever. > Sacraments and Baptisma does not guarantee our ticket to haven, its just a presentation and reminder to our Lord Jesus Christ.
I do not believe that Peter would change what was the Nicean- Konstantynopolitanian Creed Truth that was written in the Bible, that Holy Spirit has come from the Father (ontologically) not from the Father and the Son. There is one final Principal and this is of the Father and not of the Father and the Son, from whom Holy Spirit procedes. That why I do not believe that Roman Catholic Church can claim that she is carrying the orthodox faith of st Peter. Orthodox Church is doing this. You can see this in practical dogmas, that are proclaimed by both of those churches. Only one of them is carrying faith of apostles and unfortunately it is not Roman Catholic Church.
1. I've heard some EO theologians that have no problem with the concept that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. Their problem was that the Catholic Church declared it to be true without the input of the EO Church. 2. Jesus says that He will return to the Father and will then send the Advocate (Holy Spirit).

💒🙏🇺🇸...hi..does anybody(Orthodox,Catholic or Protestant) have an opinion or indeed aware of the personal testimony of a woman named:Vassula Rydén ,who is Greek Orthodox? thx😊
I actually don't know how to respond to your question. Do I have an opinion of Vassula Ryden? Am I aware of her personal testimony? I have read the messages of the Trinity, the Blessed Mother, St Michael and other saints to Vassula for 30 years. As you mentioned, Vassula is Greek Orthodox, but she has been chosen by our Lord to spend her life focusing on Christian unity and praying for and working for this unity. Vassula travels around the world spreading the message that Jesus loves us all, that Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants belong to His body and make up His church or house. And there has also been, in these later years (the Lord first approached Vassula around 1985) an even further outreach to people of religions outside of Christianity concerning Jesus love for all of humanity as He died for all of God's children. The messages are very Catholic in their theology, stressing devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Jesus also stressed his desire that all Christians celebrate his resurrection on the same date. He told Vassula that if the hierarchies of the Orthodox and the Catholic Church could agree on a date for Easter, He would bring His Church (all of us) together in a unified way. Vassula says Jesus has not exactly described what that unity would look like, but she said He would bring His people to celebrate or worship around one tabernacle (meaning a consensus about the Eucharist as His body and blood, soul and divinity) and they would be under one leader, the Pope. This has caused some division among the Orthodox and some in high authority threatened to excommunicate her because the messages are too Catholic. Indeed, although there is an ecumenical coming together in pilgrimages, most of the participants in the pilgrimages and most of the followers of True Life in God (the name Jesus gave Vassula for her apostolate) are Catholics. She lives in Greece and remains a faithful member of the Greek Orthodox Church. You can find out more about her and the messages at www.tlig.org. I have no idea whether you look favorably upon Vassula and her mission or are one of those who denounce her and True Life in God. I truly pray and hope that you will have an open mind and heart concerning these locutions, messages and teachings. They have the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur of the Catholic Church, if that is of any interest to you. At any rate, I hope this has been of help to you.
This video was written with a biased Orthodox point of view. It says the Orthodox Church was the first Christian church, however, the Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches were one church, under the pope, until the split in 1054. Then the continuing church became known as the Roman Catholic Church and the church that split off became known as the Orthodox Church. So the first Christian church would have actually been the Roman Catholic Church, though it didn’t use that name back then and the Orthodox Church was part of it.
Cardinal Humbert anathematized the patriarch of Constantinople during a Divine Liturgy. Rome kicked off the split and the east countered with their own anathema. It was at first a dispute between patriarchs which most people didn't even know about until after some time. You're right, there was only 1 church for 1000 years. I hope there can be unity again one day.

Either "Roman Catholics, Protestants or Eastern Orthodox" but there is a universal truth that "these both are Christians." We are the children, follower, devotee and a soldier of our Almighty God Lord Jesus Christ. Amen 🛐✝️☦️😇🤝
Christians don't drink blood or eat Christ.
Amen."
The important points of this prayer are the following.
I really appreciate the quality of this video.. especially the information and the way it’s delivered.. Thank you! =•)

The Orthodox say they are right, the Roman Catholics say they are right, and the Protestants say they are right

no AL here If you are wondering about the question of whether your sexuality is a sin or not, I welcome you to consider the following thoughts for clarification. Let’s look at some basic fundamental facts based on extensive research & ongoing R&D. During fetal development a verity of biochemical agents are introduced which determine the development of the fetus. Research has shown that major agents such as testosterone & estrogen & a host of others agents determine size, weight, hair color, eye color & sexuality along with a host of other traits. Variations in the amount & timing of the introduction of these agents have a major effect in development. The fetus is a passive participant & has no influence in these matters. Sexuality, for example, & all other secondary traits are thus given to us. Well, this begs the question, is homosexuality a sin since there is no choice offered. The fetus has no willful acceptance. However, if your religion or belief system states that it is a sin, then there can be no discussion. These are the rules based on this system’s dogma.
Replacing ancient religion & mythology & superstition with reason leads to another conclusion. Leaving religions that use condemnation & ridicule for control, can be the first step in becoming a true human being minus any imposed or fabricated guilt. There exist many variations of human sexual expression as well in the animal kingdom. When you leave various ancient religious beliefs behind & chose knowledge based in research, you can see & understand the true nature of humanity. You leave ignorance, hatred, & prejudice behind. In the book Gay Straight & the Reason Why by Simon Levay PhD, explanations regarding this aspect of humanity are clearly explained & is based on research. While I am not gay, I highly recommend this book & the numerous articles. Being gay is no more of a sin than having red hair. They are both determined by genetics & clearly not a sin. There is nothing wrong with you. This is the true choice. Peace

Our Lord JesusChrist founded a church in Peter and the apostles and it is guided by the Holy Spirit. This Church is:

You're being saved from judgement due to the sins you committed in the past
Now think about it, do you think any amount of good work can save you from your sin? Obviously not, the only thing that saves us is the blood of Christ and only faith in him gets us access to that
So, I am confused. Did eastern orthodox branch of Christianity emerge right after Christ's resurrection or as a result of eastern Schism in 1054?

The IHM TREE of life project th-cam.com/video/Aa9OQHXR27A/w-d-xo.html A visual history of the Catholic Church from creation to present in the shape of a church . Plus the relationship of protestant churches as Christian brother and sisters in Christ.
The question of who originated first in Christianity is clear-cut.
Originally, there were five main Christian churches working as one - think of a board of directors:
Constantinople (today's Istanbul, where it started as an official religion of the Roman Empire), Antioch, Jerusalem, Alexandria, and Rome.
While Catholics and Orthodox Christians share many similarities, there are notable points of disagreement:
- The use of unleavened bread in communion, which is considered a minor issue.
Did Mother/Vergin Marry ressurrect? anyone who can explain for me, I heard from my roommate, and I couldn't get it from the Bible.
Stop the divisive rhetoric. We are one in Christ Jesus.
I find it very frustrating when people, explaining the Protestant/Lutheran beliefs, primarily focus on the sola scriptura and sometimes sola fide
There’s three more solas, which are very important in the Lutheran doctrine
No man! Let us focus on blessing of sodomic sin
We Christians follow God's doctrine which is His word, and His word is all one needs for salvation.
@ that’s why we, as christians too say, we are saved through grace in faith, in Christ to the glory of God according to scripture alone.
We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which He prepared beforehand.”
The message of salvation through Christ is in the Bible.
Exactly
lol
You misquoted the Bible. Paul never said “faith alone”. Martin Luther inserted that.
The only Bible verse you’ll find that says “faith alone” is in James, as a negative,
Faith and works were never meant to be separated, they were always meant to be one, as in “faithfulness”.

Either Jesus lied or he told the truth. 2000 years can back this up.
@dezlovecraft5247 There are three Churches with Apostolic Succession that are Orthodox, Catholic, and Anglican since they have Holy Orders with threefold ministry of bishop, priest, and deacon. Those with Apostolic Succession are Christian. '
However, there are other Churches such as Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, etc. that don't have Apostolic Succession since they accept the heretical doctrine of priesthood of all believers and reject the threefold ministry of Holy Orders of bishop, priest, and deacon. Those that reject Apostolic Succession are NOT Christian.
@@johnpolitis7929 The Catholic Church also teaches priesthood of all believers. Read Lumen Gentium. Orthodox as well with the royal priesthood of all believers.
Ah yes, because the current pope is a true man of God

@@wbazan36201 That is heretical Protestant teaching which is NOT Catholic. Vatican II is most certainly NOT Catholic as it's an apostate heretical counterfeit Church.

O.k. this is a quick brief explanation of three branches of Christianity. But what about the Pentecostal branch?
In my opinion, based on what I've come to know, the "true church" realistically only makes sense for it to be either Roman Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy, which is also what divides me. I say the Roman Catholic church because it's the largest Christian denomination, and they have the Pope. But I say Eastern Orthodoxy because, imo, their teachings make a lot more sense than some of that of Roman Catholicism. This uncertainty is a struggle.
From where comes the concept of Papal Authority. Answer that question.
Exactly what jimbooi1 said
Papal Authority makes No sense.
And the Orthodox keep the same teachings/worship that the Original Catholic Church did. Not to be confused with what people now know as the Roman Catholic Church.
My man it's Definitely Eastern Orthodoxy. If you can go to a Divine Liturgy, Do It. And I recommend checking out "Orthodox Ethos" here on TH-cam.
God Bless You, Christ is Always Near ❤️🔥
@@Unknown_Fool This is often claimed, but there's little truth to it. Most of the sources of western ecclesial thought (such as the rationalism of Augustine) predate the schism by many centuries. I think the Orthodox forget that it isn't just their churches mentioned in the bible - but our own as well (Rome.) Ours have grown over the centuries just as organically as theirs did.
I think you guys forget we in the west didn't tear ourselves apart over iconoclasm. That was mostly you.
@@Unknown_Fool How about Old Catholicism instead.
@@Unknown_Fool- 🤔Well in the first 500 years the Orthodox split in two: In Chalcedon and Non-Chalcedon. The Chalcedon consist of the Eastern Orthodox churches and the Non-Chalcedon consist of the Oriental Orthodox churches. The split occured during the Fourth Ecumenical Council, held in 451. So way before the 1054 split, you had the 451 split. Why do you choose Eastern Orthodoxy over Oriental Orthodox?
Eastern Christians never were under pope, don’t mislead people
Cardinal Humbert anathematized the patriarch of Constantinople during a Divine Liturgy. Rome kicked off the split and the east countered with their own anathema. It was at first a dispute between patriarchs which most people didn't even know about until after some time. You're right, there was only 1 church for 1000 years. I hope there can be unity again one day.
Its non biblical and absurd. The body of Christ cannot split. Shame on you to name roman catholics blessing sodomic sin as catholics who are the holy body of the Lord.

The true Church-the one and only Church-is the one that produces martyrs and saints, those who live and die embodying the ultimate sacrifice and holiness. This is the essence of the applied Gospel in action. Everything else is mere religion, but Orthodoxy is not a religion-it is Faith, the living and transformative connection with Jesus Christ.
