@@gizmoman2008 Hell, ANY chime annoys the hell out of me. I think the worst was the early 90’s Dodges. Just the constant “Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa” noise if you left the headlights on or if the door is open lol.

For every vehicle I’ve owned in the past ten years, I always buy the seat belt extender for this reason. No chimes, no warnings.

I came from clapped out 2500hd gmc.. the difference is night and day. The wife has a '19 ram 1500 with a 5.7, it feels anemic!

This worked for my 21 Laramie even though other videos didn't have the right procedure
I have a key fob no push button start does it work the same way
Yeah instead of pushing the push start button twice you’ll just click your key forward 2 positions.

Does this process only do the driver's seat, or both front seats? Really want to disable the passenger side.

Works on 2019 ram rebel
For some reason my 5th gen is being weird after doing this. I’ have the auto park brake enabled when in park, and now it won’t release automatically when switching gears, and my fog lights don’t light up when turning left or right. Lol. Very strange. I’ve had a few rams before this and they did not go crazy on me when I disabled the chime. I feel like my truck and your truck were probably inspected on the same shift lol
Yeah I don’t see why any of that should have to do with the seatbelt chime lol. I never used the auto park brake option and I always had my fogs on when the headlights were on, so I guess I’m not sure if those things were ever effected after doing this but everything seemed fine for me

Also I’ve got a new one for you. on the 2022s if your trucks running and you get out and your key fobs is in your pocket, the horn beeps three times very loud. Anyway to stop that? I don’t know what idiot thought that would be a good idea!
Yeah it’s letting you k on the key fob is too far away and no longer detected by the vehicle. Mine never did that, but there may be a setting for it in the center stack dash menu somewhere under the driving assistant menu or something like that.
Now apparently as of now there is no cure. But sometimes you put it out there and somebody’s figured it out.
@@fredA1234 Dang, after some quick research, it looks like it’s a new feature for 2022 and Ram is just late to the party by adding it. Sounds like there’s no cure and likely won’t be in the future unfortunately due to it being a “safety feature”.

You pull in your driveway you get out of the truck to move something at 1 o’clock in the morning in the thing beeps three times and wakes up the neighborhood that’s fantastic. What a genius to put that in. Like anybody’s doesn’t realize they left the truck running.😂

May depend on the year, but it was disabled on mine.

Also that red seat belt light will always stay on if you do this process to get rid of that annoying chime?
@@Mac_1_ No, just doing the procedure once works for passenger side as well as drivers side. Repeat same steps to turn the chime back on. And yes, the seatbelt light will be on still, just no chime.

Not positive but definitely worth a shot. Have not had a chance to try one that new.

@@robbrown6667 Most unfortunate. Not sure why they would have disabled that feature when the 2024 is the same body style as a 2019.
pretty cool... good to know...but I prefer to have the chime on as a reminder for me and my passengers.
Oh I still make people wear them. And it still shows the light on the dash. Just no annoying dinging. Makes me wanna blow my brains out 🤣

My seatbelt light never turn off...
Big light in center of the dash should go out after a few seconds but the little light stays on. I did mention this in the video.

You don't have to explain yourself. We are grown ups and wear seatbelts when appropriate. I don't need a vehicle aggravating the crap out of me. When I am on my farm I do not want to wear a seatbelt driving around the fields and woods, getting in and out of the vehicle.

I actually traded the truck in on a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee v6 back in November, so it doesn’t hurt quite as bad anymore, but it still stings 😂

Tony The Truck Guy sorry, your video did work! The video I tried to leave the comment on did not. In his video he said to push the button once to get to the acc light. You have to press it twice to get to the run light and it works.

Does your 2023 by chance have the fully digital dash?
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Yes, its fully digital. The seat belt extender also does away with the auto brake if you open the door while backing. It is not comfortable for me to leave it on so I have it handy for use only when needed. Backing a trailer, forest roads etc.

I have only heard of 3 newer Rams where this didn’t work and I’m pretty sure they are all ones with the full digital dash but I have not gotten a reply from the 3rd guy. Not sure what’s all different with those that would cause it not to work, but that seems to be the common denominator.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy They apparently removed the ability to bypass this in 2023. the guy next door to me has a 23 Ram and a 24 Jeep. I just told him about the belt extender. He is going to get them.
