June 11, 2023. Finally some clear skies, so I just found Alberio. Cygnus is way larger than I thought, and it was Vega which first popped out from some lingering clouds, then Deneb, then the "wings" of the swan which gave away it's scale. Alberio is stunning, even with low magnification. Thanks for all of your videos!

What an amazing name for that kitten.
Just got myself a telescope a month ago. Albireo is one of my favorite targets after Saturn, Jupiter and Moon. Well when the skies are clear and I don't have to work the next day. (Of course the cloudy weather started just after I got my telescope, the curse is real lol)

I've seen this double star through a very good quality binoculars. Two separate stars easily separate. 🏀🏐

Your videos really helped me greatly! I'm so happy I get to know more about Cygnus, it's the first constellations aside from Orion, that got me hooked up about learning more about the stars.

Clicked for the kitty and was not disappointed. I know so many people who would have called that cat Jareth but this is much nerdier.

I think this is the video for the star who's coordinates you gave in the right ascension and declination video. The app on my phone gave coordinates that are a little bit off, so I wasn't sure if this was the right. I guess it must be this one since others have commented already

I can split Albireo at 8x using my monocular.I am guessing that 8x must be about the limit as I have tried at 5x and it doesn't split but I don't have anything of 6 or 7x.

Coming here from RA vid. Found it using my Mobile Observatory pro3 app. But coordinates are a little different. Is this error or just due to actual change in star's position?

Point taken. Seeing a truly dark sky changed the course of my life (I ended up moving to Hawaii so I could see a brilliant sky every night), so that is why I am so passionate about it. Seeing the stars without artificial light pollution is something that every human should have the privilege of seeing.

@@learntheskyfirst time I saw the Milky Way was in 1982. I was going through Marine boot camp at Parris Island South Carolina. I could not believe how the night sky was so dark, it looked like thousands of diamonds with a swath of whisky smoke. I was in O’Ahu for 6 years but Honolulu is to bright with night pollution. Thanks for sharing. And yes, I love your cat. One of my commander Officer had a vertically split iris on his left eye; one side was blue the other brown. I was always amazed how unique it was. Thanks for sharing. Psalm 19
