😮 been playing 30 years and hit casinos, local games, and have a few poker "lodges" regularly. I dont consider myself a pro, but I have an edge most games due to experience. I wanted to say I like your vlogs, and they continue to get better, so does your play. The main thing I see as a positive is "dicipline" that you use and if you maintain will continue to get better. The KK hand you laid down is a case by case and I didn't see anything wrong with laying it down there. Stay focused and keep building Dicipline, and I see your bank roll growing. I like your responses to "I WOULD NEVER LAY DOWN KK? NEVER" lol. "Thank you for your expert advice haha" Those are the ones I like seeing fill the tables. Dicipline and mindset .. Look forward to the next vlog! Thanks
I do my very best to keep it as friendly as possible on here, and that was the best response I could muster up 😂. Can tell you’re a good player just by your input here. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and for your honest feedback! I have focused a lot on my discipline and to think things through more thoroughly than I was in the beginning. Glad you noticed. Look forward to bringing you the next one soon! 👍🏼
@@TravisHallPoker if you're folding KKs in a 2/5 game you're so exploitable. I can understand higher stakes where you're getting 5 bet for 20k but come on? But hey, do you and keep enjoying life!
You are definitely on a roll. Absolutely loved the sense of you to lay down those pocket aces. There are great hand but they will also bust your ass. I understand about the pocket kings also. Great session!
The JJ hand was a perfect storm 🌩️ 💪👍as for the king's hand, without knowing stack sizes and how much more to call... It's tough for us to know whether or not your priced in, but it shows a lot of discipline (once again depending on the strength of the five bet based on how many chips he had) it is super strong and I think in that situation it comes down to knowing your opponent and their tendencies
Yeah I briefly mentioned it in the video but he was around 700 effective in his stack. I figured he was doing it with only aces or Kings and it was more unlikely he had Aces since I already had 2 kings in my hand. Just a tough spot! Appreciate you watching as always 🙌🏼
@@TravisHallPoker for sure, either way you look at it... Sometimes a great call and a great fold is 1/4. I hope in the future you consider adding live stack and pot sizes(even as I type that last word It doesn't look right 🤣) makes it easier to follow the action and can only sharpen your game further ✌️
Enjoying the vlogs Travis. If you're anything like me, you'll think about that KK v KK hand more than the JJ vs 66 vs 99...lol - it's part of the process! Keep swinging!
😂 that’s the way it goes. Actually still happy with my decision there and would likely make the same one given the circumstances. Appreciate the support friend!!
I folded KK once preflop. Same situation as yours. I said out loud that “you either have QQ or AA, and I think with QQ you would just call (he played very cautiously all night and I never saw him 3 bet even once). Now he’s 5 betting ? I said, “I really think that AA is the only hand you’d do this with so, I fold (face up). He turned over AA and said “great fold”.
Yep depending on your opponent, sometimes you have to fold the 2nd best starting hand possible! It is very rare, but obviously you made the right fold 👍🏼
Looks like things are going pretty smooth for you. Confidence is key even for the highest level pros. Once that doubt reaches there mind that they aren’t the best, their play suffers. Keep it up.
@@TravisHallPoker A couple of weeks ago I was on a 2/2 PLO table with J,4,9,9. Flop was 8,9,K. Turn was a K. Me and my opponent are All in. He shows K,Q,J,8 for a bigger boat. I figure I’m dead meat. Then I river a 9 for Quads!
When you say “I’ve been training.” What does that entail exactly for you. I know I should “train” more. But other than logging a lot of hours idk how to go about. Also get bored out of my mind looking at GTO boards.
Lol I understand there you’re coming from. And unfortunately yes training can just feel f’ing BORING to do. But I have a subscription to a poker training site I study at. I am very familiar with GTO pre flop charts but lately have focused studying on bet sizing, continuation betting, and more post flop play. I just train in an online cash game course there. There are a bunch of great sites and coaches. I personally use pokercoaching.com
Only 1 combo of KK vs 6 combos of AA. So way more likely to see KK vs AA vice KK vs KK. Obviously it's still possible, lol. But I think you had a nice day and no need to introduce extra risk like u said for best case chop. Maybe chance they have QQ too, so 6 combos of stuff you dominate. Just unfortunate he got the option to 5b. Haha. Nice session.
Lol you just get it!! Most likely up against AA. Already a great session and ready to go anyways. Not taking a 75% chance to dump an extra $500 right before I leave. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Your analysis with KK in my opinion is correct. I’ve folded KK a few times to a 5!. You are almost always shown aces. Is it a tight fold? Yes. But why put a anymore chips in the pot if you are behind?
@@TravisHallPoker 5! Is almost always always aces from a rec. one time I was shown queens when I folded and was shocked. The other 7 or 8 times it was always aces.
@@TravisHallPoker yep. Sometimes guys spazz with queens. But it’s not often enough to make it profitable to call. Some people just say you have KK you have to die here. I disagree.
laying down pocket AA was great. It's easy to be discipline when you have clear thinking. And "clear thinking" on the line of fire is what most of us are lacking. For example: a friend of mine is great thinker-post hand analyzer. However, when he is on line of fire, nothing of that comes for him. Just, somehow, his mind gets blurred at the critical time. I believe, he needs more experience.
Yeah totally understand that. That is the majority of poker players! Even if you watch some of earlier videos you will see me make wrong decisions consistently due to not being disciplined or thinking clearly
@@TravisHallPoker exactly! The Discipline! That's the key answer for clear thinking on the line of fire. Apply discipline and never get confused/wrong.

Then 20 mind later I got pocking kings again and shove for one of the guys to have pocket aces and even spike an ace on the flop. Im still scarred from that night ☹️
Be brutally honest with yourself and find the weakest points in your game. From there, just work like hell to improve them 👍🏼 I struggled a lot with post flop play, being a calling station when I was very likely beat, and not playing my good hands aggressive enough when I should be. Have focused on those areas a lot and drastically improved them! Appreciate you watching!!
You are getting 2:1 in the 5 bet pot, 400 to win ~800 so you need ~33% equity. if you are confident he only has AA or the 1 remaining combo of KK, then I believe the fold is correct. One more thing, if you're in the small blind with T7s you gotta get rid of that trash man it's a garbage hand in the worst possible position, this is the type of losing overlimp you want your opponents to be making not what you want to be doing yourself. Take any and all of my advice with a grain of salt I am a 1/2 - 1/3 shitreg
Lmao 😂 I love the note you put at the end! You’re actually correct about both of those with your analysis. If I were in a tougher game I would fold T7s very often in the sb. But felt comfortable with the edge I had over the table to play it. Appreciate you watching man! 👍🏼
