I’m from the U.K. now living in the USA. Had five Audi’s when I lived in 🇬🇧. I’m driving a 2021 Subaru WRX saloon I got new that isn’t available in the 🇬🇧. Looking to now go back to what I love. I need a 2018 Audi S3 stage 1. This vid was spot on. So informative and down to earth. You didn’t sensationalize anything or big it up like a lot of TH-camrs in the states. Cheers matey from the states.
I think im sold on getting a 2017/18 S3! In terms of the remapping how do you know what to do the car? This would be my first “performance” car so just tryna learn more about that side of things!
Tuning companies will point you in the right direction and also a bit of online research. A stage 1 car like this literally just requires a software tune as opposed to any physical modifications, so its a good place to start! Enjoy!
@@ItsDanLatham You legend! Thanks for the reply man. Just been looking through your vids and so much great info especially for a young driver like myself! 🙌🏿🙌🏿
I can’t decide between a higher spec 2019-20 s3 or a 2016 rs3. I love the look and sound of the rs3 but the maintenance is putting me off and no digi dash etc. Any advice would be appreciated
Tough one. The 5cyl engine in the RS3 is really special, and its a more desirable car - but yes, running costs and maintenance will be higher. Unless you are obsessed with the idea of the RS3 sound, you could get an S3 thats nicer to live with and modify it for plenty of power.
@@ItsDanLatham I’ve been looking for almost 6 months now and still can’t split it. My head says s3 but my heart says rs3. I just know when it comes to it I’ll get my head nipped about the cost of it but it’s probably a one time thing for me so I kinda want to go for it. At the same time the resale of the 2020 in 3 years would be better than the 2016
@@burglekutbawbag7275I went for the s3, and I’m looking at 2017+ fl rs3’s atm 🤣 I’m getting about 23 mpg in the s3 so running cost wise would be similar but it’s just personal preference I’d say
So basically you’re saying that if I get my S3 resonator deleted, than all the pops&bangs will almost dissapear unless the whole system is hot? Thanks& nice vid
Really tough one. Interior of the audi is much nicer quality, and it will be quicker off the line. Fuel will probably be surprisingly similar, but the Audi is a point and shoot accurate fast car, the BMW is more for your noise and tail flailing around, trying to keep it under control. Steering feel better in the BMW but nowhere near the level of grip as in the Audi. Depends what you want at the end of the day, both great cars. As an all year round daily driver I'd probably go S3!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it and good luck finding the right car 👍🏻
Hatch is more practical in terms of fitting large items in and has more headroom for rear passengers but the saloon looks better to me
Totally agree!
Just bought an s3 18” black edition and love it to bits

Press that several times and it will explain that car.
Wishing a fast sale for Ryan!
Looks good fun absolutely

What year is it.? I’m looking to go from my TTS to the S3 saloon so looking for a facelift and 306bhp stock
This is a 2017 facelift
I’m incredibly undecided between Audi s3 saloon stage 1 and BMW 235i stage 1. Any ideas? Thanks!
