Great video! We gotta talk about coxwell though man. This map has: 2 peasant stages so your k/d gets destroyed for no reason, including an unlimited peasant spawn at the end, a torch stage so if you play two handed weapons you have to decide between that and playing the obj which really sucks on devastator / poleman, the first gate which is probably a more defensible spot that basically nobody defends because you can get locked out and left to die while your teammates just throw rocks, two stages where fighting goes on all over the place without being concentrated to one spot at a time (which imo makes every fight feel way less important) so you can lose the stage because the other side of the map lost a fight, and then the final stage can won by a guy who hides and has the weirdness where if you started the map low players and then the server kicks off, you don't even get to go until all the defenders are dead. Just my two cents though.
Idc about K/D because I treat the last obj like everybody is a VIP which is very cool and dieing brings your team closer to losing. I also love the game of hide and seek. The gate obj is valid but only because team mates are brain dead is it a poor objective. I don't see anything wrong with the first objective really, if you don't want to be a torch thrower you can clear them out and leave it to others, usually
I didnt really like Askandir. Only once we stopped the attack team on the bridge which was in a standalone server (better IQ players there) But yes, the team balance is brutal in this map.
I enjoy the concept as well. I just don't like the ships and the barrel parts, not enough time too defense sided. I play in stacked lobbies though so maybe I'm just tired of getting stopped at the ships everytime the map comes up
Overall, very fair ratings! For me, since the game first came out, Lionspire has been my favorite! I never liked the Tenosia invasion update, I never want to play as them and i am not a fan of any of their maps particularly
Amazing vid mate, I personally don't think bridge town is in the same league as Galen court, I do agree with everything else except I would put Galen court in A tier and tryan citadel in C tier but that's just my opinion on those two maps, I hope the rest of your day is going well tho mate.
I just have some personal gripes with galencourt in that when you have a stacked game it really brings out how defense sided it is. In a pub game I would agree A tier. But in a lobby with 64 no lives like I usually play in, you rarely see the game go past the ships
Thanksfor that video, I love a good tier lists! And what do you think about Frozen Wreck? I think this is the only one map missing from the list. I would personally put it in C tier, I dislike how asymmetrical the map is and how easy it is to fall into the water when backstepping. Also let's not forget about that 2 balistas.
I agree. Probably the most balanced map in the game, maybe slightly attack-oriented, only downside is last objective if your team is incompetent but you can just go through making sure the cannons are on target and should be fine. Atmosphere also isn't the most exciting.
We all have that one map we just DESPISE... for me its Bridgetown That map is just never an equal fight in me experience. Agetha either wins during the orchard burning objective or MAYBE during the cart smashing objective but otherwise tenosia just easily runs through the entire map with little effort.
I think that the bridge is my biggest problem, there just isn't enough time to break everything. It should be the main focus of the map, you would think they would want you fighting on there longer.
Personlly dislike Darkforest for the same reason you put Desert on D... its DARK. Also the attacking side never has to retreat for bandages because they are pushing their ammo box with them. Meanwhile defense never gets a chance to retreat for bandages because some roaming vanguard with a dane axe will try to be your new husband if you turn your back on the steamrolling attack. It reminds me of the og Chivalry map where you have to sap the walls and light the beacon but without the interesting objectives.
I agree with the sentiment it is mostly an attack steamroll but with the catch that it has one of the best final objectives in the game in my opinion. Being the Duke is heart pounding, while trying to kill the duke can actually be challenging. I also enjoy the battlefield stage and the gatehouse stage. Pushing the cart is the biggest steam roll area but the second cart push IS doable on defense. I've seen it many times.
@@Nuggz1 Totally get why you like being the Duke, it is very fun. I like playing the Heir of Rudhelm personally but that's just me, it can be a bit more cramped fighting but I like pushing up the walkway. The gatehouse in Darkforest is one of those objectives where you can actually do a good job of defending it but like with the 2nd objective at Falmire or the gatehouse in Rudhelm it rarely gets held cos ppl are dumb, overcrowd one area and forget about the other side.
@@Nuggz1 all valid points, but it's still not a pleasant experience getting there, even on attack. I usually bard on DF just to lighten the mood. Just my opinion bud. Keep up the content. Looking forward to the next duel.

so basically, with the exception of Duelyard which is an awesome map, the maps got progressively worse during the game's lifespan.
More or less, I like Thayic and that was a later map. So they showed they can release better maps but chose the easy way. Short lazy maps

Darkforest is an attack steamroll until the last objective where defence just dominates. I just can't see it being above B tier personally.
