throughout those videos I have actually been wondering how one would achieve it. And his initial approach was honestly really good and took me by surprise: give up on drawing it for now, and create a log you can try to use later on. Also helps for how they often forget where they came from and tread old ground.
I think the fact that every tile was numbered was massive, I would've asked if I could see the number each space had with my items, if you could get a few of those you can really take advantage of that and have a really strong map, as unless tiles move or numbers get swapped (which they almost certainly would if Noah catches on to this strategy) you can have a way to know where you are relative to other numbers, rather than trying to analyze the paths. I will say though, the recording of everyone's turn that Tamago did in the beginning was a really good strategy.
@@_Tao__ Yeah if your log is well made then you can track repeat moves to make a good map, which I think is what Tamago did. Cj just started with a map so when the board started looping him it ruined everything and his map became something he needed to decipher instead. Pixie uhh, yeah.

The thing that messed up their maps the worst was most definitely the 90-degree turns (so it was a diagonal edge, but each end claimed to be cardinal - and different directions at that) that additionally wrapped around the board so they came in from 180 degrees incorrect direction.
I like how some of the previous ones were saying "you'll be hearing from my lawyers" but Noah wrote it as "this is fair and balanced in every way and I comment your integrity" or something

CJ threw so many times in this video it's insane 😭 The amount of times Noah told him where people were and just goes on a completely different path while saying he has no idea where he is was so unfortunate

Can we just appreciate how good this map design is? So much thought went into making sure the players would never know for sure where they were, even without the potential to be randomly teleported.
So many fun new things! I love seeing Noah take an already torturous game and go "Hmm, not bad enough." The direction changing path and 2 spaces going down to the same space are both amazing but the path that sends you to the same space is just gold.
I absolutely love that MTN games still have somewhat consistent rules. Players that watched all previous videos of this would learn a lot and would be able to play a lot better than most players are doing.
I love how whenever something super horrible doesn’t happen to her Pixie goes “My luck! Let’s go” only to jinx herself and be essentially thrown off a cliff in the literal next turn
I laughed so hard that Pixie had such bad luck on bad spaces and teleports to them by sheer bad luck, before she, of so people, was the sole person who later ended up in the torture zone

Tamago actually won this game, cause although both CJ and Pixie had more time, Tamago was the only one who had HIDING time. The others still only had HIDDING time
I think a big part of why they were so confused is the fact that some of the paths were really long but the contestants all assumed you’d move about the same distance every turn
Eh the distance is meaningless for the most part. You can represent the same map with short connections and it’s the same map. The huge wrench in accurate mapping ability were the teleports (from bad spaces, items, and getting tagged), the single loops, the pacman-style screen wraps, and the board changes that can render your map inaccurate over time, with no ability to know what new paths formed or disappeared.
Actually vulpixi had the best Strat in the game, gold really doesn’t do much in helping you win, so staying in the bad area means that no one will want to tag you because they would need to spin 3 bad wheel spins if they know where they are going to tag her, although she could return to start or be teleported and not make it to the bad wheel spot in time, or someone could teleport to her for a 1/21 chance
This was a very strong strategy, outside of the large chance of the bad wheel teleporting you to the unknown with nothing to log (except space #’s, although with sufficient prior mapping these become very useful info), and also the bad chance your location is provided to to your opponents, who both can improve their knowledge. However, her “luck” of most often rolling gold-loss (thus getting to stay in place) nudged her bold strategy into a rather good one.
Imagine a rendition of the blind mode where Noah gives them each their location and the board like the previous time, but with the twist that each were given different rotations of the board. Like if one had a normal horizontal board, another was the vertical layout, and the 3rd was upside down
that'd be difficult to keep track of moves, cuz a player could say "I go down" and the host then has to figure out what their down would actually be on the map, and I can see that getting mixed up immediately
I felt bad for her. And lowkey hated how snarky Noah was being about her being unlucky sometimes. The good thing is that she didn't seem that phased by it.

How about for the next blind map all tiles are secretly blank and when someone moves you just spin a wheel for what kind of space (bad good shop etc) it allegedly is. Maximum confusion! Just a living nightmare trying to map anything out because nothing is real!
The wheel takes time to spin though, so the best things to do for that sort of thing is spin at the beginning of the game, & note it for when someone lands on it. Then when that happens, secretly spin it for the next time someone lands there.
I feel like that would pretty easily get too obvious, because nothing ever lines up. In the way he does it right now, things line up just enough for them to be confused when they don't, which seems ideal.
Honestly, I really like the idea of mapping it out (with minor changes from the bad wheel) and think it would not be smart to mess that up. At the moment it's a really good game he should have similar rules for. Imo.

I think it came at a good time. Still ambitious if we’re dealing with 3d layers, as Tamago stated to hypothesize. But at least the players gained a tidbit of knowledge to incorporate into their knowledge instead of mapping never-ending paths that don’t exist.
Getting trapped in the shadow realm has gotta be the best strat to win in tag your off where no one else will go and the bad wheel cant make you it so it doesnt really have any negative effects.
