    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The initial sketch has to be done thinking about the four sources of light I explain in the beginning. You need to imagine them based on those.
      As for the final white reflections, it's more instinct than anything, imagine where light would reflect off the surface. I suggest you take a look at nmm minis and learn from them, also classic paintings by the masters are an amazing resource to understand NMM.

    When using your paints as glazes, what ratio of water to paint are you working with?.

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No ratios, each paint from each manufacturer is different and requires different amount of water, it's something you need to learn to do by feel sorry.
      That's why I show you the consistency on my thumb, also all my Citadel paints are pre-thinned when I transferred them to droppers so even if I gave you a number that number wouldn't be of any use.

      Sorry I don't have any. What I meant is that is how I would paint them if I had to

    Fantastic work! Very accessible technique for beginners and lists of room for more advanced painters. Bravo! Would love to interview you for my podcast if you’d be interested.

    Late to the party, video is a year old...
    Could you maybe do a NMM example of something in a mix of your Steel and White videos. Want to see a "White Steel"

    I might have gotten the wrong thunderhawk blue cus mine looks more like a turqoise than a dulled down blue oh well guess ill give it a go anyways 😅

    • @MadassSoerensen
      @MadassSoerensen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And im sure i picked the layer version and not the dry one is there something im missing? 😀

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But Thunderhawk Blue IS a desaturated turquoise colour.
      Don't trust my camera too much, that old camera I was using in this video wasn't the best for colour rendition or light.

    What would have really would help too is adding the Vallejo alternative for colours too.. I used GC Turquoise, GC heavy bluegrey and some night blue to darken the tone a little.

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know the Vallejo range at all so I have no idea about alternatives sorry.
      That looks great to me, well done

    Isn't realistic??? Dude don't fucking short sell yourself here, this is the most realistic paint job I've ever seen on a Warhammer model... I've watched probably 2 maybe 3 hundred hours of paint video the past few days and this is the best of them all. I mean there's some fantastic painters out here and you have literally dwarfed them all. If they are masters of the craft then you are the fucking grandmaster. They don't come close

    Sorely tempted to do an entire grey nights army like this, but doing just 5 guys in gold NMM took me 2 months!😂
