Also, the fun thing with new AI is to find out what bias they've been programmed with. Everything I ask Perplexity ends in it trying to sell me its products. So I asked if it was biased towards selling me its stuff, and it replied, 'Based on the search results, it is evident that the information provided contained a promotional tone. I apologize for the oversight.' :) haha fun, I love AI.

True but I feel like google is doing this thing as well. It points us to research that sometimes forces us to pay to access the full text but perplexity is just more efficient and intelligent as it gives us a summary of all lets say 5 sources it found online and gives us an insight.
How to manage keywords insertion into the content in perplexity?

Thanks Ben, very valuable. What I like about ChatGPT are the hundreds of mostly free GPTs that come with it. Can I use/integrate them with Perplexity?
Don’t think you can use gpts with perplexity but their are tools to build them outside of open air with perplexity
Perplexity does have something similar but consider it a 'light' certain. When using collections to organize your threads, you cab sign a custom prompt to be used for every new query you start within the collection.. That's like custom GPT'S.
What you don't have however:
- an open index or directory of these custom collectors
- the ability to attach a file to the collection custom prompt (knowledge file)
- the ability to connect with an external system using api for each individual collection.
However, for me the custom prompt per collection is perfect, my GPT''s usually consist of only custom prompts anyways, not the other two features chatGPT offers....

I've just spent 10 min with its chatbot, and I'm not sure it was a: any different to any other, and b: any smarter. I asked it, 'What is your daily usage limit?' - and it didn't know that 'your' meant Perplexity - I use Grammarly chatbot (very cheap), and it understands a vague concept of self - what's the difference here that makes the difference?
If you are on pro it actually uses all the different llms so you aren’t wrong at all. It supposedly gets the one to give the best and most accurate answer. I’m also sure it will improve over time

Perplexity is great, but it simply isnt better than ChatGPT, and thats not subjective. Thats just the truth. Microsoft Copilot is the best utilizer of ChatGPT.
PERPLEXITY DOES NOT ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR REQUESTS AS YOU WOULD THINK IT SHOULD. I ASKED IT TO BE A PROMPT GENERATOR, I GAVE IT A KEYWORD, IT GAVE ME PROMPTS FOR THE KEYWORD BUT NOT ALWAYS IN THE CONSTRAINTS OF THE PROMPT. AS VERBIAGE WENT ON IN THE PROMPT AND I ASKED FOR MORE PERPLEXITY KIND OF GOT CONFUSED AND WENT BACK TO THE BEGINNING INSTEAD OF FOLLOWING THE THREAD AND CONTINUING.
I understand that can be annoying. But keep 2 things in mind:
1. Perplexity is not meant to be a generative model. Basically Perplexity adds a 'conversational online search' layer to whatever model you tell it to use . That will result in different answers for no -search tasks like creating prompt an deep text analysis.
2. Having said that, there is a way to get 'unmoderated' access to the model you use in Perplexity, but selecting the 'writing' focus underneath the search box. So if you want to do a comparison you should always choose that focus. It will allow you to communicate directly with GPT/LLaMa/Claude etc.
So when you did your prompt generation test, did you have 'writing focus' enabled? If so, I'm surprised my the outcome and thank you for sharing! If not, could you do it again using writing focus and share your results here? That would be very interesting! Because otherwise your comment and findings are useless for the goal of comparing the two. Thanx in advance!
You don't hear about GOOD tools that are efficient and effective for a REASON.

If you're talking about the paid version, I just don't think it's better than chat GPT plus. If you're talking about the free version, yes it is nice to have those four searches every 4 hours that will search the web.

Yeah Google search is an extinct dinosaur. They just haven't realized it yet. That said, Perplexity still needs a lot of work. It frequently gives me incorrect information, but at least I can verify it through the links.
