I just got my 88 Dodge Ram 50 running after I got it from my dad, who let it sit since 08. She is rough looking I just love the graphics some of those came with, I want to restore her as much as I can. I love your build. She is beautiful.
Oh, yeah. I got my first mini at 17, in '97. It was an '87 Nissan with leaves taken out and torsion bars cranked down until it rode on the bumpstops. It was nearly the same color, this truck is what I was drawing when I should have been listening in school, haha
@@boogiechassis7726 exact same here mine was an 86 1/2 hardbody in 1998. It was black with a pink , green and blue stripe that was Z shaped from front wheel well to the top rear of the bed. I got old pictures somewhere with it layed out under my dads semi and next to it. It was the truck I learned on. It was the first truck club I was in and they taught me a lot. One of our members had a bad ass 720 that was featured in minitruckin mag in the mid 2000s. Keith spent years slowly building that truck that’s when tweed was in every interior and bags were just coming into the scene
I had a Mighty Max in the mid-90s. At the time, I was making a 200 mile round trip commute to work, so the miles piled up quickly. The odometer showed just over 150K, when I sold it. The front suspension was trashed and needed replaced, but it was still peppy and the air blew ice cold. Man, your truck is over the top, way cool, and definitely different. It was rare back then to see a tricked out MM or D50 and even more so today! 😎👍🏼
@@aaronb554 I have my eyes on a d50 not sure of the year yet motor is blown. Any ideas for a motor swap ? Are there even parts for these trucks? It has a bench seat automatic radio delete. Seems like a long bed to me.
@@derekcorreia9692 you can swap whatever you want. The 2.0 manual trans will bolt up to a 4G63 or a 4G64. Not much out there for the stock 2.0. Really just carbs and headers, not that they do much.
A friend of mine had one of these (I think his was an '88) in like '98. I removed the pocket where his clock was and installed a Kenwood 4042a EQ in that spot. His wasn't as nice as this one. lol.
@@boogiechassis7726 The only thing hanging me up is the price and stage of my build. It looks like it's based on the old Doug Throughly header so that's pretty cool.
I would literally redo the interior as stock with just interior. Fat ass stereo!!!and I would replace the bags with juice!!!oh and ENGINE SWAPTO A KNARLY ROTARY!!!!YEAH BOOOI!!!!2 PUMPS ALL DAY FOR THE SETUP AND GET THOSE 4 PUMPERS FOR THAT Z RACK!!!
Finally someone who knows what offset they got , thank goodness
Haha, I know. There is a lack of reliable information drove me nuts. I swore I'd share as much as I could.

Thanks, Mister. I really like the original truck graphics now, too.
I like the sticker on the back glass more than anything it gives it that 90s vibe and I love it that’s when I fell in love with mini trucks
