    I’ve been using my uncles old N90s and it’s been such a joy to use. Nobody really knows about the N series but I’d highly recommend it.

      I recently got an N80. Makes experimenting with analog very easy, and being able to use G lenses makes it an excellent choice for any Nikon shooter.

      My N90s is a major carry camera. The N75 is a great camera too, very light, but not as robust - and don’t put pre-AI lenses on it 🤪🤪

      I really like my N90s, great camera and so close to the F100 without the price. You can even shoot G glass as well!

    F3 is great, however...FM2 + MD12 is the full mechanical combo that rocks. Shutter and mirror movement are out of this world. Owned mine for over 30 years already. Still going strong.

    I too have an N60, 2 FM's and a Nikon F (Photomic).

    If I buy another film camera it will probably be a Hasselblad.
    Thanks for your post.....

    Long ago - I mean it - in 1969, I think it was, a friend of mine was driving on I-64 near Richmond, VA, when he saw two cameras sitting on the side of the highway, all by their lonesome. He hit the first exit, then the next exit past the cameras, and stopped to check them out. It was twin Nikkormats, identical model and vintage. Of course these were still newish cameras in 1969. I just remembered that when I saw your Nikomat.

  • @CLBMSN

    You should pick up an FM2/FM2N, a mechanical piece of art. Been shooting one since I was 16, so 18 years now.

      Steve McCurry used a FM2 a lot, especially for his most famous photo and one of the most famous photos of all time, the Afghan Girl.

    Worth clarifying that the first camera there is the L35 AF3 - it has a simpler and less expensive 4 element lens compared to the original L35AF. Still a good camera but definitely not in the same league as the mju or T4. Only the original L35 AF is.

  • @timrpbrown
    @timrpbrown ปีที่แล้ว

    You gotta get an F4. It's insanely heavy, will outlast the known Universe, all buttons and dials but still has matrix metering, autofocus any every other bell and whistle. It weighs a tonne so you can cancel your gym membership. I love my F3 (who wouldn't?) but the F4 is special.

  • @d.r.martin6301
    @d.r.martin6301 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Now you need an 8008s or N90, great semi-pro bodies of the '90s. Only slighty pricier than your N60.

    Hello love your videos! I own a nikon N50. I've been holding on to it for years! Once digital cameras came out I stop using and purchase a Nikon D90. I've wanted a smaller camera so I then I purchased a Fuji X-T20, which I absolutely love. BUT, you've sparked my interest for film! Haha! I think I sold the lens that went with my N50. Definitely going to give it a try. I also have a point & shoot Canon PowerShot A3100. I found your channel trying to see what was the best point & shoot cameras, that's how I found your channel. I've got it ready and charged. I plan n to go out and make pictures! Thanks again for sharing your videos! :)

    I picked up a Nikkormat FT3 on the cheap and I too love those unusual (for a Nikon!) features. It's like a cheap OM!

    • @pierre-andredalcq2966
      @pierre-andredalcq2966 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I own a FT2 and OM-1, and to be honest it's the Olympus that feels cheap next to the Nikon! The Nikon feels smoother, sturdier, a little bit better build overall and it fits better in my hands. I also think it looks more classy. The only thing I prefer about the OM-1 is it's absolutely beautiful viewfinder, incredibly large and bright.

    • @zjohn6879
      @zjohn6879 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The viewfinder being better, in my opinion, was my observation with an OM-1 I tested. That said the FT3 has a Nikon K focusing screen (or the equivalent), which I found to be plenty bright for low light. Especially for the price!

    Got a f3 too that i love, man the pictures that comes out of that camera 👌🏻 although had a bit of a problem with it recently where the shutter wouldnt fire, or at least taking a really long time to fire, when I was out shooting. It was pretty cold i guess but not freezing cold, it should be able to handle that, it was maybe 5 degrees celsius i think. When I came back inside it worked as usual.. anyone know what could be the problem?

    You're such a bad influence for my wallet haha. Just recently picked up a Minolta XE-7 with a Minolta MC Rokkor - PF 58mm f/1.4 from FB Marketplace for $20. I was able to talk the price down to $20 because the lens was broken. Took a crack fixing a lens for the first time and now it's good as new and shoots as it should!
