- Here is how to clean your Nespresso Machine. I have the Nespresso Vertuo Plus and it is super easy to clean my Nespresso Machine. The Nespresso Machine does a full cleaning in about 5 minutes. I also talk about how often I think we should be cleaning our Nespresso Machines! How long has it been since you cleaned yours? If you cant remember then its time to clean it! Hope this video makes it easy for you guys to clean your Nespresso Machines!

Do you use the descaling solution?
Hi! No this process is only to do a light cleaning. Nespresso recommends doing this once a week. To descale they recommend doing it once every three months, that process takes about 20 minutes. Where as cleaning takes about 5-7 minutes. If it’s been too long then the machine will eventually warn you that it needs to be descaled. But on this video I’m just doing a weekly cleaning. Hope that makes sense!

I love to run the machine without a coffee pod before and after use. Just a regular espresso shot not the whole thing. It makes a huge difference!
In San Antonio, We have very hard limestone water. I use a solution of water and vinegar to the lime scale in the tank.
My coffee started tasting so bad lately. I’ve had my machine a year and never even thought about cleaning it 😭
Will definitely be doing this weekly, and will be getting the descaling system.

Just purchased the Vertuo Next and so far so good. Easy to clean and maintain.
We've moved recently and had to give up our in cabinet Miele coffee maker which was a work horse but expensive. We tallied almost 7500 coffees before we moved and never had an issue.

I have just purchased mine, too. I did the first cleaning and in the water I found a lot of coffee grinds. Do you know why?

My Vertuo next machine broke with in a month of usage. I would brew one coffee pod a day and no matter how much trouble shooting I did, it still would not work properly. Luckily Nespresso replaced it and I was able to choose a different model.

Yes most of the time depending on your machine it will be pressing the lungo button without a capsule. Letting it run hot water through and repeat three times

I have already gone through 2 Vertuo Next machines within the past 4 months due to finding coffee grinds in my cup/watered down taste after the cleaning cycle...Upgraded to the Vertuo Plus recently and I love it, but I’m still experiencing the same issue with the grinds? Wondering if you’d have more tips! 😌
The only thing I can think of is releasing the capsule after you brew it instead of leaving it in. I don’t have that problem so I don’t know what it would be 🤔

I thought you had bought the plus, yeah the next seems to be a finicky model. Mine started leaking at the bottom and based on other comments on my channel, lots of people are having issues with it

I’m not descaling here so no. This is just running hot water to clean weekly. A descale will require a different method and solution that nespresso sells
This seemed so much easier than cleaning the Keurig lol
This is just a light cleaning with water but when you descale it it runs a 20 minute cycle give or take although I hear keurig takes 45 minutes 😳

Three Lungo brews without a capsule
If I want hot water, is this a good way to make hot water? Or is there a better way? This is a tip that I'm having trouble finding. Thanks!
Just run a lungo without a capsule until you get enough water you need
Inspired. I cleaned my coffee machine this weekend. Would you review your nespressos. I.e., Crema comparison and taste. I am debating between the vertuoplus, but I would consider the essenzia mini and keep it next to my cusinart coffee machine. It is so cute. The white is oos so I will have to search for it. I don’t think it’s better 😭 it has a few flaws. Only thing it has going for itself is the Carafe option.

You could easily find more things that you like better on Plus. I don’t own any of these. From what I see, I think Plus makes a nicer crema and I also like the way it closes and opens.
does the container that stores the pods end up w moldy water?
My Vertuo Next machine used to have that happen but then it broke. I haven’t noticed it with my plus.

My vertuo plus is only 1.5 years old and it's making a horrible loud noise now. Nespresso machine about to take off for a space flight. Has this happened to yours?
No but i recommend calling their customer service
What if the water doesn’t run? Container is still full machines makes all the noise but nothing is happening
Give it a few minutes otherwise I’d call customer service I don’t know what it could be
Where do you recycle the pods to?
Nespresso has pre labeled bags at check out that you can choose on your order. After you fill one just send it to ups store and they ship them back to be recycled

I think so, they say as long as it’s potable water it’s good to use in their machines

Each machine is different I would look to see what the manual calls for. If you have the essenza mini like I did then you do three lungo shots without a capsule

I would clean my next twice a week and it leaked and it also stopped recognizing pods, I think the next is just a bad machine. I think they need to recall it, fix its issues, and then put it back out into the world.
I just descaled my Vertuo Plus and put it through the cleaning/rinsing cycle and I can’t get the light on top (red&yellow) off. What am I doing wrong? 🤬😩☕️
Call their customer service they’ll be able to trouble shoot, their number is at the contact us section on their website

To clean (not descale) you do three lungo brews without a capsule in it.
If you’re trying to descale I don’t remember how to do that but they have the pdf manuals online
AND Maggots worms can build in the coffee dispenser. Check yours!!
I Run water without the coffe capsule every time after each use in a empty coffe cup to push out the rest and that’s it
It’s not as thorough as the cleaning cycle, I would still do what they recommend
My machines light is half red and half orange.

I don’t think it’s because you didn’t clean it as much, I clean mine every week and it’s still leaking and a lot of coffee grounds in the coffee 🤔
I think it’s just, maybe a bad design? They’re so pretty but defective 😞
Thats awful! Have you called Nespresso? They can help you troubleshoot it which I don’t think will fix it but after you can request a different model if you’d like or a new NEXT. As long you have your machine registered I think it’s worth a shot
I just watched a video regarding the leaking. Unfortunately, seems to be an extremely common problem. The ones that found a fix to this issue said it was a rubber seal problem. They told how to readjust the seal and the problem was resolved.
