  • Nespresso troubleshooting tips. How to fix your Nespresso machine and maintenance.
    These troubleshootings steps will work on all Original line Nespresso machines Citiz, Le'cube, Essenza, Inissia, Pixie, Lattissima. All of the machine range use similar internal and external parts. I forgot to mention, please ensure to wipe and rinse out the drip tray, capsule container and any removable parts at the end of each day, this will minimise any risk of infestation. Do not leave the capsule inside the extract unit. Always release the capsule by lifting the lever up after you make a coffee. If you have any further questions feel free to comment below.

    I hope this troubleshooting/maintenance advice helped. I've had a Citiz machine for 5 years and this Essenza machine for 2 years, with no issues at all. If you do proper daily cleaning and maintenance your machine should last many years. Please also ensure to wipe and rinse out the drip tray, capsule container and any removable parts at the end of each day, this will minimise any risk of infestation. You shouldn't get infestations anyway if you properly pest control your home. Ensure to pest control your home before Spring Summer comes around or the warmer months. DO NOT put your removable parts i.e drip tray, capsule container in the dishwasher as it may deform and discolour your removable parts. Just hand wash.

      Hi there! I have an older essenza that was gifted to me a few weeks ago. The capsules will not puncture. All I get is light tan dirty-ish water coming through. Is there anything I can do to correct this issue? Thank you!

    I did everything he said in order, nothing worked, UNTIL he started talking about “older” machines and mentioned pulling the lever all the way back and pressing the espresso button. This strangely worked for me, it started spitting water almost immediately, even though my model is a “new” one identical to his (purchased in 2021). 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Thanks for a nice tutorial. I tried all your fixes but my escenza still wouldn’t pump any water. I discovered that if you turn on the machine, add a capsule and press the luongo button, as soon as you hear it buzz, pull up the lever and pump it up and down several times, the hot water starts to flow. You have to do this to force prime it. Now my once stuck machine is making delicious espresso again!

    How I wish other videos could be as clear and precise as this. I hadn't used my machine for a while and there was no water flow. I carried out all the four procedures in this video, albeit just about four or five times for the first (air pocket issue). When water still didn't flow, I returned to the first procedure and must have pressed the cup button at least another fifteen times. I was on the verge of giving up and binning my machine when, hey presto, water started flowing! I continued with a few more cup presses to give it a good clean. The lesson I hope to pass on here is - if it's an air pocket issue, you'll have to be patient and persist many, many times with the first procedure before it works. Don't give up too soon. Many thanks for your help and brilliant video.

    My Essenza mini stopped working all of the sudden and it keeps blinking 3 times constantly. No water flow, no sound, just blinking. When I sent it to Nespresso for repair thay mentioned that the reason is that insects went inside the machine and that they cannot fix it..I was a bit shocked..but I still have hope that it might work one day..can you give me your advice?

      If it’s just blinking together both cup lights like the heating up mode and doesn’t make a noise when you press a button, unfortunately it needs to be repaired or in your case since the technician said there were insects better to buy a new one.

    Problem: Lungo button only pump a little water then stops.
    Solution: Reset to Factory Setting.
    How:
    1. With machine turned off, press > 5 sec and hold down the Lungo button
    2. LEDS will blink fast 3 times to confirm machine has been reset to factory settings.
    3. LEDs will then continue to blink normally, as heating up, until ready. (25 sec)
    4. LEDs will then Steady Lights and ready to make coffee
    I thought worth posting here in case someone encountered the same issue as I did.

    Hi! Do you have any tips on how to fix an essenza machine that doesn't pierce the capsules anymore? Water still flows through, but the capsules either don't get pierced fully, or just don't pierce at all. I've tried descaling the machine as well as cleaning the grid plate with a cloth. Doesn't help :(

    • @larpy
      @larpy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How old is your essenza and which model exactly ? Do they don’t get pierced on the foil end of the back of the capsule ? please make sure you’re using genuine Nespresso capsules and they should have a glossy seal on the under side of the edge lip. If it’s not shiny and doesn’t have that seal that means the capsules won’t work. The new essenzas newer than 2012 rely on a seal of the capsule so if you use old capsules without that seal only water pours out and it won’t pierce the foil end.

    • @Lydia-kr2lv
      @Lydia-kr2lv 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@larpy It's about 2-2.5 years old, Breville model (BEC220BLK). I only use genuine capsules, and the machine has been working fine until about a month ago where it suddenly just doesn't pierce them properly. Often the first one pierces okay, then if you try to do another one it just won't pierce. But lately even the first one sometimes doesn't pierce or only pierces in the centre. Definitely nothing to do with the capsules itself. I haven't changed anything.

    Hello. Thank you for making this video. I think I have the air pocket issue. However I have a new coffee capsule inside and I think now the coffee chamber is pressurized so I can open the lever to empty it. Also no coffee is flowing no matter how many times I press the espresso button. In fact some parts of the machine which I believe to be the pump grows really hot. Please advise how to tackle this problem. Thank you

    One more piece if junk coffee maker I have purchased over the years. Had a Kuerig that failed after about 6 months, now my Nespresso machine I've used literally 30 times is not working. Yes, followed all the troubleshooting tips, water filled, everything lined up, etc. and no coffee. Don't know why I waste money on this junk.

      Must be unlucky because i've had 2 Nespresso machines 1 is already 10 years old the other is 4 years old with no issues at all. Go return it to the place you bought it from, get a refund or replacement. What model is it?

    If your machine is dripping from the coffee spout after you make a coffee. Make sure to lift the lever up to eject any residual water sitting inside the extract unit/brewing unit. The residual water will then go straight into your capsule container.

    • @fernandoftfferraz
      @fernandoftfferraz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I notice one time that i put the capsule and extract but a few seconds before the coffee itself come out, a bit of pure water came first. Maybe it´s because I did not lift the lever before extract, may this be correct ?

    Hello there,
    I was very impressed with your helpful video which went into so much detail regarding maintaining your coffee machine. Thank you.
    I have an issue where my water won’t heat up and I’ve even tried to factory reset but that doesn’t appear to be working either. I’m at a loss of what the problem is or if it needs to be thrown out.
    I’ve had it a few years but rarely used it. Maybe that’s the problem. 🤷‍♀️
    Do you have any ideas?

    • @larpy

    Thanks, great useful video! Question: on my machine which is the same as yours, both my espresso & lungo buttons give the same volume so the espresso doesn’t give out the 25-40ml. Any tips on how I can get this fixed (without paying the expensive nespresso call out fee)?!

    • @larpy
      @larpy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@rl9754 You need to reprogram the cup levels. Close the lever without inserting a capsule. Put a cup under the spouts Press and hold the button you need to reprogram and water will pour out. Let go when you are happy with the desired level. Next time you press that button it will go to that level

    My machine is able to dispense the full amount of water when I press the espresso button without a capsule. However, when I put a capsule in the machine, it's only dispensing about a quarter or half of the espresso cup. Any idea why it's doing this? Thanks!

      Could be a blocked pyramid plate. Try flushing water through the spout and using a toothbrush to brush that grid plate , like in my video.
