@@s.m.2523 Most people found Lasagna Boy underwhelming and lacking that feel the original videos conveyed. And I mean, visuals are like 90% of the Gorefield appeal, so a coat of paint is a pretty significant change.
There are only 2 base colours in this game but it doesn't look cluttered, Lumpy is an amazing artist. He should make stuff that's not based on Garfield and other characters, I believe he has the potential to make great original games. Thanks for the playthrough!

LumpyTouch's work and Gorefield as a whole are just another step in the development given to it by many artists, like Lasagna Cat, PilotRedSun's Garfielf, fist of the b0rf star, the Garkov website, and I'm sure some others I'm not aware of.
Damn as a metroid fan I love this. I like how each beam upgrade is named after pasta Macaroni reminds me of spazar/wide beam, spaghetti reminds me of wave beam, and ravioli reminds me of charge beam 7:28 VIRGO GOREFEILD!?!?!?!?

Alternatively, the final boss would need to be seemingly invincible, and you actually need to spend at least a minute and a half holding down the charge button while avoiding all its' attacks until the gauge finally changes to 'LYMAN', whereupon you'll unleash a screen-filling attack that finally finishes it off.

in order for it to be a true R-type tribute, the final boss has to have a crappy attack pattern and self destruct after about 20 seconds.
That's Gradius, R-type would involve throwing an invincible powerup inside and letting it damage the boss.

I used to play a lot of R-type back in the day. It does feel a lot like it, the only difference gameplay wise is the lack of Force, and the charge beam, but hey, is inspired by it, it doesn't have to be exact.
That and you move with a mouse instead of a controller, so no need for speed up power ups
