So there is no gpu encoding with ROCM in DaVinci Resolve? I am probably going to return my AMD 7900 GRE and just get a 4070 TI Super...it is a pity because I don't want to have to spend an extra 350 euros ($860) on a Nvidia card with 16gb of VRAM, and getting a 4070 super ($620) with 12gb of VRAM is not ideal. Specially since the new gen will be out in about 10 months time. I got my 7900 GRE for 530 euros, which is a good deal here in Spain. I was so happy getting away from Windows (dual booting) and not having to buy into Nvidia's cheap vram tactics, but sadly AMD has limitations on Resolve, and I paid for the studio version, so I really want to keep using it. It is blackmagic design that only support Nvidia gpu encoding on Linux has nothing to do with drivers. I've tested with nvidia on Linux and found my cpu encodes the video at the same speed as the gpu and that was with 6k 422 10bit video from my Lumix S5II. So the only thing I'm loosing using amdgpu on Linux is h.265 and AV1 export from resolve but my cpu is just as fast as the gpu encoding I just need the gpu to perform on color grading and compositing in resolve which the amd card does just fine.
I started using AV1 also with OBS, with a 7900XTX on Linux, my gripe is certain games just look like crap and I use level 4.0, 9000kbps, I have tried lower and higher than that with varied results in quality, some games look amazing at the 2500kbps, other look extremely bad, others don't look good at all even if I go above 9000kbps ..it's odd to me, lol

I'm working on video showing how to get good results with AV1 on AMDGPU on Linux it will be out in about a week.
