    I have the Bosch 12v and it's great for smaller tasks. For bigger ones, I go with 20v Ridgid mid-torque, and with big heavy jobs I use the old Ridgid Octane High Torque. Right tool for the job! If something smokes, I would think I'm pushing it way too hard!

    Ive been with Bosch for over 10yrs. Some of the original batteries are still working fine. I have lots of their 12v and 18v tools and have been very satisfied. The only drawback is overall selection of tools in North America. Europe has a very robust selection of Bosch tools that for some reason are not available in the USA.

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, wish we had the selection like Europe. Almost the same deal with Makita but they are getting better.

    I like the compact battery options on the Bosch and Milwaukee. I don’t really see the point of DeWalt and Makita making a 12v line that is almost as big as the 18/20v line

    Bought in to the Hercules battery line in 2017, was frustrated by the delay for compatible tools UNTIL last year. They're now at or near the top of the brushless market.

      Yeah its a good platform, and man they offer any AH battery you could possibly want from 1.5-6ah. HD normally runs some good sales, defiantly the best time to buy.

    please note, if the measurement reads "2.097", that, is not "two point zero nine". That, is "two point one".
    (the error from "two point one" is 0.14% while the error from "two point zero nine" is 0.33%)
    (you are more accurate when you say "two point one")

    I’m curious if you enter the 12v brushless for screwdrivers (if that’s something you are considering) in seeing the m12 installation driver vs m12 fuel screwdriver. I have both and I prefer the installation driver for the utility alone. But the fuel screwdriver is shockingly capable of being that tool that does 80-90% of a homeowners need. I got them both for a very good deal

    • @Tools-Tested

      Installation drivers will probably be the end of next month. Probably around end of this year for screw drives if I’m not out of money by then lol.

    I don’t know why brushed drills are still made. Brushless drills can be gotten for so cheap now that it’s only a few bucks more for the kit. Unless you find a holiday deal when they can be gotten for dirt cheap. I’m going to avoid brushed tools when I can.

    • @mrallan8063
      @mrallan8063 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Likely good, better, best marketing. You need something on the bottom so you can sell up from to make more money. Human nature is not to buy the bottom, but rather the middle (perceived best value). The cost to make a mid or best model isn't that more expensive, but price difference can be significant (which is mostly profit).

    • @mediocreman2
      @mediocreman2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Brushed can still be more compact. I bought a brushed Milwaukee M12 recip saw because it was much lighter, smaller, and a lot cheaper.

    • @Vicus_of_Utrecht
      @Vicus_of_Utrecht ปีที่แล้ว

      Brushless is trash. Permanent magnets fail from motor heat, microchips (not including batts) failing and add much more cost (prices are still much higher than brushed).
      I have corded brushed tools that have lived longer than any -less has. And I've never had a brushed fail under a year...

    • @Vicus_of_Utrecht

      @@jsplasha And now you will know the reason.

    • @Vicus_of_Utrecht
      @Vicus_of_Utrecht ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mediocreman2 Yup, a properly designed brushed can be as compact- the entire brush housing & brush design is archaic but few engineers will work on it. Too '"tried and true". I've tinkered some thoughts in my head but I'm a thermodynamicist not an engineer lol. Efficiency is our mindset.
      Ediot: l also want to mention why I name dropped 'corded'. Batteries are stupid in 80% of usage, grid power is most environmental, energy evaporation from multiple generation-transfer-storage cycles.
      Plus you're tied to that tool brand's line of batt/tool options.
