- Welcome to my first edited video on my channel! I decided to force my good buddy and co-host Dean to listen to the Genshin OST for the first time: one of my all time favorite OSTs!

Oh excellent! Really glad this came up on my recs, I love watching people experience Genshin for the first time, the music especially. It was great watching Dean get more and more into this the further into the OST you went, and there are plenty of other great tracks that would definitely be worth getting them to give a listen to. Any plans to make this a series?

i hate the disrespect genshin is given solely because it is an anime game. i mean the lore, the world, and ESPECIALLY the music is just beautifiul

Hate is more for community, which then is portrayed on the game itself.
@@fate503but the problem i have is that most of the community is actually passive. Genshin is such a huge game that it's inevitable that some toxic people will enter the community but people generalizing the whole community by a loud toxic minority and then projecting it on the game really pisses me off.

5:44 This sorta exists in the form of “Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie”. It’s the combat music from Fischl’s 2.8 GAA domain and like 3x as long

Oh yeah. It is the improved version. Infact, I would claim the whole Fischl Domain is a unique style that just feel amazing
'Aggressively French' is a sentence I didn't think would fit so well. Also, he knows his music. Was surprised he could say so much about Raiden just from her demo music.
Very happy to accidentally discover more people like me who are obsessed with both Genshin and Hoyomix in particular. Pity you didn't show your friend La Signora bossfight OST though, but I presume he has heard it way before this video was in the process of making. Followed on twitch :)

a bit sad cause he was saying narwhal part 2 was much better, the EDM part slaps really, but the Classical with Opera, damn... and i dont even like Opera
I feel the same honestly! The EDM part is amazing but the classical piece is so amazingly well crafted and evil

"3rd" phase is the best imo
I think Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie would have been a more interesting listen than Fischl's demo music so it isn't two short demo themes side-by-side for Mondstadt.
for a longer version of fischl's theme i would recommend "Die Mittsomernacht-fantasie"
its a shame but i think you could show him port ormos or some enka OST to represent the ambient part of the game. Character's demos are cool but we have cool music while playing the game too

I hope your friend tries out genshin in the future, I really want him to experience the fontaine archon quest and see why Furina is so beloved in the community after he said that she's his fav character

This year for my spotify wrapped i had over 120k minutes of listening to music and most of my time listening to music it wa hoyo music. Hoyo-mix was my top artist and the music is so good. I cant wait for them to release the character demo songs from wanderer to furina. Ill have them all on repeat for next year and fontaine's music is so good.
Also suprised you didnt show him the port ormos theme but theres so many great tracks. Thank you for the video!

You should have him react to the live symphony performances for each region. I feel like he'd appreciate those, or at least find them interesting. Duel in the Mist too.

I love how your selection of songs are amazing yet shows how it is slightly different to what I would select. It just shows how much variety Genshin music has that people can find stuffs of their own taste
I was so happy when you showed your friend Cyno's theme song! I really love Sumeru's music especially the desert area, which is why it was so easy for me to clear it so fast lol I know there's a mix reaction for the desert area but I genuinely loved it and the music was the cherry on top
Sumeru music is some of the best the game has to offer!
yeah I don't really care about Cyno in general or his demo but his music is FIRE and sumeru demo's music are my faves [Candace, Tighnari, Collei, Faruzan, Nahida.... so many bangers lol]

Genshin music is incredible as always
Genuinely was the hardest part was trying to minimize things. The original video was actually like an hour and a half long but I had to cut it down to the best parts or else it would have gotten stale.
My other idea is to just have him react to music in another video
love your friends reaction, hopefully you'll let him react to the version trailers. They're one of the biggest reason I even started Genshin the Hype was real lol

Maybe I’m biased because I’m from the Middle East but sumeru music is soooo amazing. Even just the normal ost and the battle music is better than the rest of the regions, Fontaine is a close second but mostly carried by furinas theme
I love Genshin music, and how much thought is put into it, not only in character demos or important cutscenes but also even in the background music you hear while playing the game, or exploring. My favourite tracks are the Enkanomiya fight themes ("Undersea encounters" and "Combat Beneath the Waves") and the last song you hear whike exploring the chasm region, especially its battle version ("Inevitable Conflict"). I'd love to see similar reactions to this!

You guys are great! Definitely make sure to include "Across Dimming Asterisms" when you're going over some more again. (Alongside the other obvious ones like Mittsommernacht Fantasie and Guilded Runner)

Hi! Your friend seems really chill and nice! Maybe he’ll be interested in seeing how genshin ost uses instruments from different cultures? Some great videos I think you’ll both be interested in is the live symphony series. They have a live band perform some of their best pieces in different regions.

I dont think Furinas was that much, I think he lost the opportunity to play the BGMs which are really good, like Streets of Elegance, any of the mondstadt ones, Port Ormos and for riddles for Wonders

You missed a lot of opportunities :
- all character demo music is sort of incomplete without the video, the music is made for the video and the video is made for the music. Maybe just more ingame music would have been more relevant
- Fischl battle theme would have shown him what he wanted to hear and it's longer
- The second year lantern rite music instead of the first year one would have given him the electric guitar part and I think it's the best version of the theme
- Nothing for the forest part of sumeru (the main thing of sumeru)
- The narwhal theme has nothing to do with fontaine thematically (you said it), it's an abyss theme
- the voiceless edit of furina demo basically breaks half of the music
- not a single battle theme (open world)
- no openworld music
- 1 boss theme that is seemingly not the most popular nor most relevant
- in the end, you mostly showed electronic music despite 95% of the OST being acoustic, the OST is vastly misrepresented here
A lot of the music I chose is music I’ve been listening to outside the game a lot! I plan to continue showing him more music so don’t worry, I’ll get those covered too:)

okay? do you realize that this is up to subjective interpretation and there are no 'missed opportunities', its up to them to show what they like the most
@@y3sy3day 99% of what I said was entirely objective. I said he could have showed things more representative, it's objectively true. I like all the things he showed, my point is that it's not representative.
And in this context, he's showing stuff to his friend, it should be more important to show what his friend might like, rather than what he likes himself. Especially when his friend expressed explicitely what he wanted to hear.
the top 5 id like to see him get, azhdaha, faruzan, alhaitham, liyue battle theme 3 (or any of them), enka battle theme 1 (or any of em). genshins music in general is great, but i cant help but love these ones a lot more.
I think u should do a music tour like adventure from mondstadt all the way to fontaine. Like u can pick a few representive song from each region, starting from the main theme, specefic region bgm, battle theme and boss theme. With that u can add some overall description to explain the journey/background. But now you are showing him song with random order that would not make sense at all because it hard to immersive yourself with how vastly difference each song compare to each other now
I see that Liyue poster and Zhongli behind you and I know you have superb taste :D

You should do a part 2 of this video if you want with some regional music and battle themes not just demo music and boss themes.
2nd part of the Narwhal boss theme felt like created by Snailz or Dion Timmer or even Excision

You should show him Mondstadt - Fontaine battle themes. The Osial battle theme, the Azdaha battle theme, and the raiden shogun battle theme. These are a banger.

There was WAY too much emphasis on character demos. I would have at least picked one orchestral piece from each region. The fact that your friend got the impression that the first 2 regions of the game sounds 'pretty same-y' in the end when in reality Mond and Liyue OST pieces are highly distinct is an indication that you didn't touch on that facet of the music enough.
Anyways, I still appreciate the video. I also like that your friend isn't just a music layman and can provide some analysis.
I plan to introduce more and more music as time goes on so do not fret. Appreciate the support:)

Def not the best choices of music at all! The themes from each region are so much better. However All the music is awesome. I personally would have chosen the main themes from each region.
