    Dude, I've started probably 5 new characters over the last month and just kept hitting a wall once I'd leave the city. Had no clue about the skill trainer, the upgraded weapons using predator bones, ice rag, and didn't even know there was a blacksmith, lol. Kept using outdated guides to make silver using alchemy, not knowing it had been patched. Learned more in 35min of your vids than I did in probably 4hr of trial and error.
    Glad I kept looking as there is something about this game that is drawing me in, so your vids have given me the confidence to jump back in yet again. Love the straight info style and your Deadhead demeanor, lol. Remind me of a friend I used to go to festivals with.

    That ending part of the beach where you took on the mobs is kinda dangerous though, I've run into wendigo's so often at that spot. They're often either at that spot or next to the conflux mountain western side near the entrance on ground level. Something to keep in mind for newcomers!

      @Splidtter Hmm, interesting. He's actually not in the bandit camp next to Cierzo either. He's in southern-most bandit camp.

    • @Comforts
      @Comforts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Splidtter oh yes, I've seen him there multiple times as well. I thought you were meaning inside the camp. My bad. So there's only one, correct? Do you think he always spawns there originally, then gets pulled around the region?
      I still remember my very first playthrough, seeing him wandering around. I approached him, thinking I may have a chance (I think I was equipped with a machete and some padded boots). Didn't end well.

    • @JoeBerg38
      @JoeBerg38 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting to see, i hadn't considered the wendigo being pulled there. I've ran across it so many times around that area just chilling, but I've never encountered them near Montcalm.. only other place I've seen wendigo's is in the bandit camp near enmerkarforest exit, the one trapped behind the door.

    • @JoeBerg38
      @JoeBerg38 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Splidtter it's quite the experience! Did you get the mask though? Good stuff, it's a must have imo 😂 Vendeval is a great fortress to be enslaved in tbh, you can cheese a shit ton of gold in the prison (at least.. you could, not sure if it was patched in three brothers dlc, since I'm on xbox i don't have that dlc yet). Those Wendigo's are treacherous, I usually go at em with a trap or three to lower their health, and use extreme bleeding/poison weapons to cancel their regen!

    This is probably the most friendly-feeling guide I've seen with your super calm vibe. I watched to see if you had found an early game source of money that could somewhat replace the now heavily nerfed potion crafting method (had that feature for awhile; sad they nerfed it). But at this point I'm staying for the ride.
    You've basically got the same exact early game I do, but have a few tips and tricks I hadnt considered or known of so these episodes have been pretty helpful.

      Thanks Gandhi! Yeah, I'm not stoked on silver farming. I think just by playing the game through, you'll find that you can accumulate wealth pretty naturally. But I will admit.... Before the nerf, every character I had, I abused that alchemy system nonstop 😂

    • @Comforts
      @Comforts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Minnipresso For a first playthrough, it's all about resistance and defense. I would try to acquire the full set of the blue sand armor. This will allow you to fight through most enemy's attacks without staggering and falling (once you're stun-locked and you fall to the ground, it's pretty much over for you). The blacksmith in Berg sells recipes for beast golem weapons that will increase your damage (a bit of a step up from the fang weapons). You may want to look into that as well. I'm not sure what build you're going for, but early on I suggest a one-hander with a shield. Utilize shield charge skill from Eto in Cierzo. Also utilize the push-kick skill. These skills will deal decent impact so that YOU can be the one who's doing the stun-locking. Some enemies in Enmerkar should simply be avoided early on. The main quest lines will not pit you against any enemies that will completely overwhelm you. Just wait on some of these enemies and then circle back and dominate them once you've gone through a bunch of the game and gained some decent experience.

It sucks, but now that he's gone, I've decided to start it up alone. I spent nearly ten hours (literally) running around, feeling stuck. After watching your vids, I had NO CLUEEEEE how much I had missed. Like half of what you showed off in episode one was brand new to me. Thank you so much.
    Also, do you run any mods on this game? I don't necessarily want to change anything drastic (cause playing the game as-is is the best way to experience a game), but your character model looks better and your Aurai looks brighter compared to mine. Thank you again!

    • @Comforts
      @Comforts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't believe flint and steel serve any other purpose, but... There's always a 'but', because the developers have put soooo much creativity into this game. So I cannot say definitively. Perhaps combined with certain spells?? Again, I have no knowledge of it, but I wouldn't be shocked if there was something else you could use it for.
      Also the butterflies- yes, super helpful to know this. I myself received this tip early on from another video. Many of the death scenarios have you wake up next to the butterflies beside a campfire (set up by your invisible savior Gep), so I'm guessing some sharp mind made the connection. I'm probably not smart enough for that.

    • @Comforts
      @Comforts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Burac will teach a skill corresponding to the weapon that you have equipped. With Cloth Knuckles equipped, he teaches Rage. If you have the base game only (no DLCs), fist weapons will not be available to you. Equip whichever weapon you think you're going to go with, then speak with him to learn a skill. Rage can be learned from the trainer in Berg (Enmerkar Forest). Costs only 50 silver.

    Bloodline price is an interesting concept, I wonder if that’s pulled from actual history. I feel like that could lowkey be a way to improve the overall quality of life and society in general. I feel like it would encourage people to make sure their children are raised right as to not fuck up their lineage in a very direct way. On paper it sounds like it should work but then again so does communism, on paper communism sounds phenomenal but as we all know every time it’s been implemented millions of people died as a direct result each time.

      @@Comforts I only just got the game. GoG has it on sale with both DLC. Haven't even installed it yet. I generally like this kind of game with exploration at its core.. • @Comforts
      @Comforts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you die (fall unconscious I guess would be a better way to say it), the first thing you're going to want to do is find a place to set up your bedroll and go to sleep to restore your health and stamina. Keep in mind that you need to turn in the tribal favor to Rissa by day 6 (day count is shown in bottom left corner of your map screen. If time will not permit you to rest and you're wanting to keep your lighthouse, you'll need to make your way back to Cierzo with limited health/stamina. Use your compass and continue heading northwest back to town. If you do have time to sleep, hopefully you're in a place near the purple butterflies. If you are, then you will be able to rest without fear of ambush. I hope this helps.
