Just ordered one with your link. I really appreciate this review. I love tarp camping but sometimes my 10x10 is overkill and I found my 8x5 a little too small & inflexible. This looks like a Goldilocks item--just right. Thanks for putting it on my radar!
@@SurvivalTheory Yeah, it’s just a couple ounces more than my 8x5, which I can still use that or my poncho tarp to pair with it as they show on their site. Have fun. First cold front on the way here in FL; I’ll be out soon too.
Not to be "harsh", but this is the 3rd video review of this tarp, and my comment to all three videos are the same: I like the length and the ability of having side walls... BUT the width (being only 4'-7" wide) is too narrow, other reviewers even talked about adding another tarp or poncho for additional coverage. If you need to add another tarp, what is the point? I will stick to a 10x7 or a 10x10 Aqua Quest tarp.
The 4'6" side is for midgets. Everyone has to have a midget friend. No wasted space. In all seriousness, the short side is for your gear. No one sleeps next to the very edge of the tent when you have this much room. For 9oz of a tent potential it makes perfect sense for a price of $50. If you already have a "tent" for $200 then of course you'll use that one. But Snake is giving us non rich goons a great option.
