So I have this same issue and the issue and this is not a permanent fix, in my experience it always will come back. I've tried Everything online to resolve this issue but nothing seems to fix it they just make it pop up more or less consistent. I found that the issue relates directly to the GPU/GPU Drivers after taking my system to my buddies, We found out that the GPU is causing the issue 100%. We tested the GPU in another system and took another GPU and put it in my system, There was no issues on my PC but the issue happened on the PC that my GPU was moved too. Im not saying that my GPU is faulty but there is for sure something that has to do with the card specifically, Most likely drivers that I will have to wait for (Who knows when they will fix the issue with a driver). If you are curious When testing my 6950XT in the test system, Game Crashed. When Testing a 7900 GRE in my System the game ran WITHOUT ISSUE. Now I understand this is not a good solution but the only 2 solutions that i can come up with is, Wait for New Drivers for the card that you have that Hopefully fix the Error, or get a new GPU from another manufacture or maybe even series. Extra note, I do have an AMD system but there are plenty of reports saying that This happens on Nvidia as well, Seems like there is something that Activision needs to work with them on, If anyone took time to read this, LMK what you think
I have this problem with 3070 . I tried to solve the problem all day. I formatted my computer 6 times. I even tried old Windows and driver versions. I think we have no choice to wait for the new driver update.😓
I have a 6950xt and have the same issue. Had it last year and continued on to this year. I’ve seen a lot of people with the 6950xt having the issue. Hope they will fix it but knowing they didn’t last year not much hope for us.
This is a very interesting post, and I completely agree with your points. However, one thing that causes me a bit of confusion is the suggestion by others to reduce overclock settings for components like RAM, GPU, and CPU. From my experience, when we enable XMP (eXtreme Memory Profile) to overclock RAM, it often indirectly overclocks the CPU as well, since they share the same memory controller. This could potentially affect stability, especially if the CPU is pushed beyond its optimal limits. Regarding your GPU testing: when you swapped the 6950XT into a different system and tested it with a 7900 GRE in your PC, you noticed that the game crashed with the 6950XT but ran fine with the 7900 GRE. This raises a question: Was the 6950XT running at default clock speeds when it was tested, or was it overclocked (either manually or by a factory setting)? Similarly, was your previous card running at default speeds, or did it have any factory overclock settings applied? It seems like there might be a link between GPU clock speeds or specific drivers, especially since you found that the issue persisted across different systems. If overclocked GPUs are being used, they could potentially introduce instability or crashes, even if the overclock is minimal or stable in other contexts. But if both cards were running at default clocks, then it likely points more toward a driver issue, as you mentioned. Just something to consider when troubleshooting, as it could also help narrow down whether the issue is related to the hardware itself or perhaps the interaction between the drivers and specific game titles. It might also be worth testing your GPU at default clock speeds to see if that resolves the issue temporarily while you wait for driver updates
Damn that actually worked, I did the 3 first operations without putting low graphics, everything at the highest possible graphics and it didn't crash for now 3 hours !
Big time agree with this. That's when my crashes started, because I had none before that, and I'm running an i9 12900K with a 5-yr aged MSI 2070 Super and it handles the game on maxed out settings in 1080p at around 100 fps, until the crashes started right after that update. I hope they fix it soon. Even the update today didn't address the issue for me.
ive had the direct x error happening very frequently and its super frustrating!! i have a 4070 card and 32gb of ram, i shouldnt be crashing. i looked online for solutions and the only one that seemed to do anything was reverting to an old driver versionbut even then im still getting the odd crash on high settings
For my friend it was because of secure boot been off, it was on in bios but on Windows was showing off soo i dig up on the internet and discovered some more settings to make full on in asus motherboard
@ about the asus motherboard when u go to secure boot and is on there is a config name OS Type u need to put in Windows UEFI Mode to work i found that in videos on how to enable secure boot on my motherboard
ive been having this issue on the Phantom Gaming D OC 6800xt for the entirety of BO6's launch, Im still getting multiple crashes a day and have tried nearly everything. Literally can't play zombies since im guarenteed to crash within 30-60 minutes. Im trying to underclock my card now since it comes overclocked from factory and see if it stops.
I dont know if we should be tampering wuth our virtual memory setting's, that should not have to be done to play a game especially when you set a game on low settings and dont have background processes going on. I just wish they woukd acknowledged the problem and say ther are investigating for a fix
I have been having problems like this on all cods since Cold War and it has never been resolved I have waited for new driver updates and rolled back to old drivers nothing changes I haven’t got anything overclocked and every other game I play works amazingly it’s only just call of duty that I get these problems and it honestly puts me off the game. Weirdly enough I didn’t have any problems in mw2/bo6 until the Warzone released idk if that’s just a coincidence tho
I actually got my first direct x error tonight whilst streaming, I tabbed out to change the song and it crashed when going back in, happend twice in 2 hours.
I played this game on a Ryzen 5 5600x with a Asus b550 mobo. I swapped recently to a 7 7800x3d with a msi b650 and now I'm getting this problem, didnt get it before. what is the issue here
I was using i9 9900k with 1080ti windows 10. Built a new computers using amd 9800x3d same graphics card using windows 11 and now o crash and I get 30 fps less. Thinking of returning all my parts
Hey I did a similar upgrade 6700k 1080ti windows 10 to 9800X3D 1080ti windows 11. Experienced the same issues on Windows 11, went back to Windows 10 and have been able to run 5 benchmarks in a row without issue, whereas on windows 11 the most I got was 2 with an immediate crash afterwards. Can't say how it will look during long sessions at the moment, but it "seems" to have fixed it for me. Hope this helps
The error specifically refers to a windows multimedia problem, hence me checking the crash reports which point at some form of memory leak potential about to happen due to background programs, which should never be the case.
I have created a channel in the discord guys where I will be posting updates on fixes I try for the direct x error and reporting playtimes without crashes etc.
I have sent Activision an email today and awaiting a reply,I want answers How can they charge that kind of money for something that doesn't work properly It's like selling an unstable overclocked GPU or pc to a customer!
@lilivann616try older Nvidia drivers from august,I used 560.81 and no more errors I just download the latest drivers and the errors are back. Seems to me that there is some conflict with the newer Nvidia drivers and the latest windows update so what I am discovering is you either have to downgrade windows or downgrade the Nvidia driver
why wont my warzone work this on the the reales day of the update. it just tries to connect to the online server then tries to load up player satuse and just reapets back and forth then the game crashes. been trying to fic this issue for the past 3 hours i need help bad plases donald trump save me
UPDATE: I fixed the whole issue by unistalling gamebar from the PC and disabling any interface by creating a regedit key.
Please show us the steps
Ya how do I do that

been happening since MW3's last update, they fixed this a while back and now it is broken again.
Seems to crash more since Nuketown update.

@@colderosion on the bright side I've not crashed at all since todays update.

I just remembered having the same problem in cold war and personally for me it fixed the game crashes when setting the vram lower in the game settings

i did the ram thing in advanced setting now game wont connect to online services reverted setting same issue tf
This is probably something with your firewall
That doesnt make sense to change your virtual memory its a vram issue so youre adding storage ram which is slower something isnt adding upwith that.

How to fix Dev Error7222 in Black Ops 6?
