I've tried Everything online to resolve this issue but nothing seems to fix it they just make it pop up more or less consistent. I found that the issue relates directly to the GPU/GPU Drivers after taking my system to my buddies, We found out that the GPU is causing the issue 100%. We tested the GPU in another system and took another GPU and put it in my system, There was no issues on my PC but the issue happened on the PC that my GPU was moved too. It's not only a Problem from Activision.... its also a Problem with the new Updates from Windows 11. You are good with win 11 22H2. Tested with gtx 1080 and 24H2. It crash's. With 22H2 everything fine. Install it , or wait for a solution or Update

I’m either getting a Direct X crash or the game completely bricks my system with a black screen where I’m forced to power it off by the button. Even had the blue screen of death multiple times. I’m “playing” on Windows 11 & Xbox Game Pass. Yet to actually manage to start & finish a single MP match. Have tried every solution posted online. The only thing left for me to try is reducing the clock speed on my RAM to 3200Mhz (currently 3666mhz). However, I’m not holding my breath as from reading online this sounds like a GPU driver issue. Also, I don’t see how downgrading to your driver to a version released in JULY is going to solve a damn thing!
I’ve never in my 30+ years of gaming seen a single game that has had THIS MANY problems. It’s almost beyond words how bad it is. We just want to play the game! They have thousands of Devs across multiple studios, millions from being backed by Activision and Microsoft and CANNOT PUT OUT A FIX TO THIS BUG. Some of us have had this bug more times than we can count we CANT EVEN PLAY THE GAME. Unbelievable, man, unbelievable.
Guys I searched so many forums, watched nearly all the videos on TH-cam regarding the fix for the direct x crash but nothing worked. I read a guy said to downgrade win 11 from h24 to h 23 and also Nvidia driver to the previous version 560.94... And that worked
im just saying if you have an Intel CPU it's most likely because you don't have the latest BIOS update. That is what fixed it for me at least the issue which I'm assuming for some of you is that the game is crashing on launch or randomly In matches but if this starts happening with other games as well it is mostly likely because of your bios or corrupted windows could be the problem as well. Hope my information helps some of all
I am only experiencing this crash when I'm recording while multi-streaming. It seems that as soon as I start to record, or use any recording device, such as record on Streamlabs Desktop, or Gamebar, it crashes every time.
I cant even load up b06 with the directx error, it just immediately crashes when it would normally go into the loading scenes. I've fixed it several different ways before but each time i do it jist comes back a few days later. I even completely reset my pc, wiped everything and it still happens on loadup
Lit done the same as me a few days ago, have you had much luck since ? The only thing that half worked for me was turning my graphics way down which worked for a few days but now back to same issue. Did you manage to find a fix ?!

My game doesn’t crash while playing, but when i change any graphic settings, for example from Extreme down to High or vice versa, it crashes and gives me a DirectX error. However i can just launch COD again and play normally with the new settings i changed to… weird.
It's absurd that this issue seems to affect NVIDIA users the most, yet I'm experiencing it with my setup too. I have a Radeon RX 7600 OC graphics card and a decent CPU, but my game randomly closes without any error messages or warnings. This has been happening since the MW3 multiplayer release. Oddly enough, it only happens when I'm not actively playing, like when I have BO6 minimized and I'm watching TH-cam or doing something else, then it just closes with any error message. Any idea what might be causing this or how to fix it?
My roommate had been running the game perfectly fine for a couple of weeks and I went to install his amd software and this error came up every time after that. I ended up fully uninstalling the software and just hitting ignore when the game says the drivers aren’t up to date and everything is working fine again. I think until the game is up to date with the software this is a decent fix
Hey thanks for the help, I noticed that you are using a rtx 4070 and using nvidia image scaling instead of dlss, I was under assumption that nis is used for older model graphics cards.
I have made the app admin mode, renamed the cache folder so it would make a new one, repaired game files, turned off full screen exclusive mode, turned off all overclocking including xmp, installed on different hard drive, vram target to 65%…. Only thing that helped was turn game settings to medium or low… not how i wanna play the game.
i played for 3 weeks.. managed to get prestige 3 and now it’s unplayable. i can’t even get past the loading screen without it crashing… i’ve tried everything on youtube and nothing works. if anyone finds a solution please reply to this comment.

The game never crashed for me since I got it up until today. My pc is not high end It’s a pre built from during Covid, I don’t run crazy settings and now all of a sudden the game constantly keeps crashing and won’t let me even load it, Ik it’s not my pc it’s all on activision.
these crashes just started last night for me, reinstalled a few times, verified and everything and I can’t even get passed the intro of the game. Updated windows, drivers, nothing seems to help.
It started to happen to me after latest windows update and nothing seems to fix it, none of the things you have mentioned. MW3, BO6 and Warzone are on the same CoD launcher you have when you open any of those games and I think it is related to it because Cold War works fine for me but it is outside of that launcher thing. No luck so far for me....
it needs to be fixed. don't understand why it wouldn't of been patched in the battlepass update... kinda ridiculous they want you to pay for DLC, battlepass, etc, yet refuse to fix their game.
I found a permanent fix!! You need to uninstall your graphics driver with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and then download the stable nVIDIA app. Not the old geforce experience one. This app automatically downloads the latest compatible driver. If your on team AMD then just install the latest driver after DDU finished. That's it! It's a driver related bug.
I hard reset my pc and when I downloaded the driver it did it through the Nvidia app, not the GeForce experience one but its still crashing loads. More crashes either shortly after load up or half way through a game randomly. Sooo annoying, nothing seems to fix anything
I think we should start a class-action lawsuit against activision and demand for them to take care of this game like they are suppose to for as much money as people pay!

What resolution yall play? Ever since I got a 4K monitor and applied the 4K resolution my game has been crashing. Never once did it crash while playing in 1440p. My friend who plays 1080p has never crashed, so I’m just trying to find out if playing in 4K is a common denominator
🤔 i'am trying, thx
Did you find a solution?
I’m also playing at 4K resolution, but with 60% upscaling. My 3060Ti can’t handle native 😅
I'm playing 1440p and this games has crashed multiple times.
RTX4090 i9-14900k
I have the exact same issue in BO6 and in Fortnite (Athena-Crash). Tried it with other graphic cards and it worked. I contacted ASUS to fix my 4090 or to send a new one, they didn't help. They said that they repaired it, but I still have the same issue.
Thank you for this! It worked for a while but unfortunately I got the same error after 4 games. Damn Activision..
Updating my motherboard bios fixed the issue for me gl
Had the issue on Windows 11 24H2, tried everything
Downgraded to Windows 11 23H2 and works faultlessly. Some sort of OS issue I think
It's not only a Problem from Activision.... its also a Problem with the new Updates from Windows 11. You are good with win 11 22H2. Tested with gtx 1080 and 24H2. It crash's. With 22H2 everything fine. Install it , or wait for a solution or Update
So I have a fix so far just done 12 hours straight no crash, from a crash an hour. Fresh install of windows to Win_11_Pro_23H2_22631_2506. Latest stable Nvidia driver only(566.36-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql) (no app or experience.) Game runs way smoother. 7800x3d (OC) 32gb ram @7200 and 4090 (oc to +17%) back to running stable. So every time I got a crash it was system 32 security audit appeared. disabling defender didnt work. but this windows build doesn't seem to have the issue. So windows the issue maybe ?.
Ill keep you updated if a crash occurs. Hope this helps you guys.
Any updates?
Updates?
I used 2 ram slots instead of 4 like before, and it stopped crashing! A solution that can be useful for everyone.
I have 2 ram sticks and i get crashes. Unfortunately not a concrete solution
@@Omi-7kstress test with TM5 and furmark running for higher temps. If it errors raise dram voltage. It may also be cpu cache instability so test y cruncher VT3 as well
Yep, December 9th.. Still happening and i even downgraded my gpu driver and still didnt work. Here hoping verify fixes it...
Did that fix it? For me even reinstalling the game didn't
@ yea it was something to due with my cpu i think bc soon after this i had to RIP the fucking cpu out of its slot bc the fucking paste hardened and then a pin got bent and i cant fix it. So all bc i wanted to play this shitty fucking game i lost my pc…
100p this worked for me. FR I have been crashing at least once a game!!! Turned my target to 60. And I am 10 games in no crash!!!
Hope my information helps some of all
What version cpu do you have? Same thing happening to me

ah, I thought only I had such problems
I am only experiencing this crash when I'm recording while multi-streaming. It seems that as soon as I start to record, or use any recording device, such as record on Streamlabs Desktop, or Gamebar, it crashes every time.
I’m most annoyed bc I’ve crashed three times now while playing ranked play and I keep getting bans everytime I fricken crashes
Oh hooyah…
I cant even load up b06 with the directx error, it just immediately crashes when it would normally go into the loading scenes. I've fixed it several different ways before but each time i do it jist comes back a few days later. I even completely reset my pc, wiped everything and it still happens on loadup
Lit done the same as me a few days ago, have you had much luck since ? The only thing that half worked for me was turning my graphics way down which worked for a few days but now back to same issue. Did you manage to find a fix ?!
Yeah, switching back to console. Smartest thing ive ever done @calvinmartin5975
Seems to be a AMD issue. People say to download afterburner and lower gpu clock by 200mhz.
i have AMD cpu and nvidia gpu. and this fix seems to work for me
I have i9 14900k 4090. Its not AMD only
@@ZelFPS all right. did you try the down clocking? and did it work?
@@tobimeister0 I lowered my DRAM frequency but that was it and it worked for one game and then stopped working again but I lowered it from 6000mhz to like 3600mhz.
i actually fixed the issue with "Intel Extreme Tuning Utility". I lowerd my performance cores from 57x to 49x and i havent crashed since.
For me it started when warzone was integrated, i was playing black ops 6 no problem before ill try your solution see if it works if not im gonna try to put my ram on 3000 instead of 3200
brand new pc. AMD Ryzen 5 9600x, rx 7800xt with 2tb of ram and it crashes so often its super annoying especially since i stream and its crashed in the middle of my stream
Came back to like and sub and hopefully help boost your channel thanks for your help
It seems to have worked for me. The VRAM thing was the key
What settings you changed
Thanks🤙🏻
My game doesn’t crash while playing, but when i change any graphic settings, for example from Extreme down to High or vice versa, it crashes and gives me a DirectX error. However i can just launch COD again and play normally with the new settings i changed to… weird.
If it crashes, it's because your graphics card can't handle it i think
@ nah bro like i said its happening when lowering the graphics too, i can change it to highest settings and play just fine.
@@fabbenationah okay im sorry✌️
If it doesn’t fix itself, restart your PC - Launch COD - “No” To safe mode & it’ll work for a couple games. Redo the steps if it starts crashing again
i have a 1080ti cant even load the game before it crashes, any help?
It’s the game
Got the same issue since the patch today
Find any fix im getting the same ??
same for me tried like 100 different solutions, even undervolted the card. still no change....
i can play exactly 1,5 games and then it freezes mostly after respawning
It's absurd that this issue seems to affect NVIDIA users the most, yet I'm experiencing it with my setup too. I have a Radeon RX 7600 OC graphics card and a decent CPU, but my game randomly closes without any error messages or warnings. This has been happening since the MW3 multiplayer release. Oddly enough, it only happens when I'm not actively playing, like when I have BO6 minimized and I'm watching TH-cam or doing something else, then it just closes with any error message. Any idea what might be causing this or how to fix it?
completely unrelated to the video but I love your desktop background photo! Did you edit it yourself?
I wish I knew how to! It is an awesome picture I found on reddit of a 17’ RS.
@ItsReallyPropane pretty cool!
Tysm bro❤
Hey thanks for the help, I noticed that you are using a rtx 4070 and using nvidia image scaling instead of dlss, I was under assumption that nis is used for older model graphics cards.
I run mine on ultra settings. Never had an issue until the last update smh.
Bro that actually fixed it
Disabling Intel Turbo Boost in BIOS fixes this error completely for me. Trying to find a way to fix this without disabling CPU options though :/
Stress test with OCCT and y cruncher. Lower clocks and turn off e cores to lower power draw
Have you had any crashes with the settings yet? I lowered all my settings an it seemed to only give me more time between crashes
Not a single one yet..
What are your other settings
Please I hope this work, i have a brand new $6,000 pc and this junk game crashes non stop, no other games crash I play other games on ultra max graphics setting, bo6 on baby graphics settings is crashing. Well , it went strong for an hour just crashed….. I don’t know what to do besides give up on this franchise, been playing 20+ years, it’s been getting worse every year for the past 10+ years
Sorry to hear man!
@@ItsReallyPropanethanks bud, hopefully Activision patches the game soon to fix these issues, I’ll keep tinkering with the settings, your helped the most so far. Appreciate what you do
@@TONYWR i feel the pain funny how expensive PC means more work pufff
My game went from working perfectly last week to crashing every single time I open up the Multiplayer, Campaign, Zombies menus, it will work for maybe 5-10 seconds and then immediately give me the DirectX has encountered and unrecoverable error. I have no clue how to get this issue solved
I’m running a 7800x3d, 3090, tried everything and it still happens lol it sucks
The servers from CoD are adjusting matchmaking graphics. PC players graphics are lowered to match the lobby majority, CoD servers are dirty.
it needs to be fixed. don't understand why it wouldn't of been patched in the battlepass update... kinda ridiculous they want you to pay for DLC, battlepass, etc, yet refuse to fix their game.
Still crashes but thank you. I normally just install basic drivers.
I hard reset my pc and when I downloaded the driver it did it through the Nvidia app, not the GeForce experience one but its still crashing loads. More crashes either shortly after load up or half way through a game randomly. Sooo annoying, nothing seems to fix anything
I think we should start a class-action lawsuit against activision and demand for them to take care of this game like they are suppose to for as much money as people pay!
trying to do said things it crashes before i can even finish
How do you change VRAM when you can't even open the game
facts
Thanks, but none of that fixed it for me unfortunately.
Sorry to hear that. Let me know if you end up finding something that works for you!
same lopy... i have everything on low. Imagine paying for this game and i dont work. I play every game with 0000 problems, just bo6 got problems. Lemme know if you have a fix
@angelolauff yeah it's a pain. Luckily I haven't paid for it yet I'm playing on gamepass which is about to expire. Will let you know if I find a fix. Thanks
My issue is I can't even get the game to launch. Reaches the menu and then before I can click anything it will crash.
Delete the call of duty folder in documents
It will let you atleast enter the game
@@jenous736 Will give it a try cheers man

mine throws the directx error even before i get into the main menu screen, cant even get into game settings at all. Unistalled the game now, screw activision.
1080 here happened every 2-3 games all I did was set the screen to borderless then went textures to very low(didnt try low but you could) also I set my vram to 50 and it finally worked before I did the recommended settings and it didnt work.
i tried literally every single fix for this, the only one that has worked for me is downgrading from windows 11 to windows 10. i actually prefer windows 10 anyway i have figured out lol
Yeah this didn't work for me, I've tried everything and it crashes sometimes without giving me a crash report it freezes and goes black, is anyone else having this problem sometimes i have a direct X report sometimes i have a gpu over clock report and i haven't been able to finish a single game and my specs are very high quality
I have been playing it without any issues untill a few days ago and now it crashes
I’m on battlenet where do I go to properties from?
Please tell me how to fix verify game files error even though I have verified it. It's the 0xC0000005 error please
This game only works for me on Windows 10😟
For some reson I do not even see VRAM as any option in the settings. I have tried everything cant even get to the main menu. This is why I didn't and will never purchase anything cod related. Game pass is it for me.
does vram option reduce the fps
Nothing has worked I have spent more time looking for a solution then playing the damn game I have got a couple rounds here and there and full zombies games but it crashes saying verify game files or direct x error I have decided while Cod fixes there game I’m going to be starting a Minecraft world and playing the only game that actually works no matter what in 2024
