- In part 4 (of 6) of my Whittling the Travelling Gnome Tutorial I finish of the details of the body, beard and coat.
Gnome is carved from 1x1x3 inch basswood. For more pictures of the final product see / dywoodcarving .
May I suggest you put a square tape on your desk, just outside your camera frame. To give you a guide when you hands are in view.
Great tip!
Excellent teacher thank you
Awesome evening vid series mate and you speak very clearly. Only prob is sometimes you have the wood off camera so can't see what you're doing
Good series bud. Looking forward to the next videos. Thanks
So glad to see that you are completing this series! Thank you - really looking forward to carving along all the way through!
Great series. Can't wait for the last two videos.
Trying to follow along with you....alot of times you are working off the screen and I cannot see what you are talking about.
Perfect!!! Like from Russia! 🇷🇺👍💪
This is a great little series!
I like Your carving but keep moving out of sight of the camera when you show us what you doing with the bess wood does not come into. To clear
OMG, camera angles!!!
I’ve followed along on all the videos but don’t see where you actually put the detail on the beard and mustache. Which video would that be? I’m so close to done. It’s been fun! Thank you for sharing your skills.
Thanks! Part 6 has the hair and beard details: th-cam.com/video/snQeE7dQ7T0/w-d-xo.html
Would have been nice to have the gnome under the camera. Looking at wood shavings was hard to watch. Thanks for the video though. A redo would be great! Thanks
Understood for sure. This was my first attempt at video a couple years ago and I have gotten better at this in my newer videos. I am hoping to do an updated version of this project at some point.
When will parts 5 and 6 be available please?
Yep! Looking forward to parts 5 and 6. Great job, by the way!!!
5 and 6 are up now. Thanks for watching!
Great info, zoomed in a bit too far, so every move is exaggerated...other than that, good stuff!
You hold the model off screen for 80% of the videos on each part. you literally may as well just take this tutorial down and reshoot it
Thank you I just commented the same thing
Out of camera. Very fast moving hands. The figure is fun and deserves a good video. Sorry.
