Not only are you a master repair person, but your videos are so pleasing and informative. I thank you sir! To a fellow upstate NY’er who lives in Nashville.
Wow, thanks
Nice tip Scotty on the Viva ,your now Dubbed Viva La Scotty ,hee hee
You got that right!
I always thought they called little dings like that patina.👍
The beginning of a relic job.
Tom Anderson caught Beavis and Butthead Wacking off in his shed.
I know! 🤦🏻♂️
😂🤣
Great work as always, Scott, Gotta get some of that superglue remover!

I was surprised Scott when you said you were a wood salesman in the past. Your skill level is at a level that I would have thought you have done this for your entire career. It looks like you started your tube presence about 5 years ago... Did you ever share your journey to this skill level?
Thanks so much. I haven’t shared that but in short I’ve been tinkering with guitars since the early 80’s, playing in bands, working a regular job. Then when I turned 50 I started Harpeth Guitar to work on guitars full time.
You got the bluesssss
Wow how old am I when you have to explain to gen z what a fax machine is
You’re a magician!! Nice job.
Thanks was working on a project and couldn’t get the scratches out. Guess I need to use a more coarse polish. Thanks
Glad I could help
That’s incredible work.
Impressive. The dent disapeared. I suppose the wood grain and the stain help a little but still.. the result is next to perfect.
Nice work Scott. That's pretty much my method but the last time I had a ding repair I tried something different. I did a video about as well. I used the fret kisser concept, took a piece of wood about 3" long by 1/2"x1/2". In the middle I 600 grit self stick paper about a 1/2" square. Then layers of masking tape on the ends until the thickness was the same as the sand paper. And voila, you have a fill kisser. Works great in flat surfaces but you'd have to watch closely on a cured surface.
Good stuff! 😃
Nice job!
So funny to hear you explain what a fax machine is. But, I guess, some young won't know what that is.
Thanks. I got a small nick just in the poly finish on my Jackson bass that i was thinking about just a little dab of stewmac no. 10 superglue just to fill it in. What about Flitz for a polish?
Yes! Don’t know about the Flitz 🤷♂️
Some guy in the 25th row says…”wow, that was a beautiful guitar, but that repaired ding ruined it for me”….hahahahaha🤣
😆
Two thousand dollars!? Try more like six thousand dollars for a Tom Anderson with that build spec.
Oh wow. I short changed its value for sure
@@harpethguitar You can't even get a bare bones model like a Pro Am or Icon for less than about $3,700 these days.
Great job. Would you know where I could find wiring for a 1965 Hagstrom 1? I follow you on TH-cam
Thanks! Guitar electronics (website) offers custom wiring diagrams. Once you have a diagram you can have a luthier make the harness
Scott, do you have a comparison of Viva paper towels vs. blue shop towels? I've heard the shop towels are a little less absorbent, therefore more ideal when doing wipe on super glue touch ups. Just curious your options.
Scott Blue towels seem similar to Viva but I’ve never tested them out
I would’ve just waited to have more significant dings before going in for a repair of this caliber. That ding is barely noticeable and mostly hidden by the arm of the player.
Have you got a cold? Sound a bit snotty
And yet, some people pay thousands extra to have a guitar reliced. Go figure.😂
