So, about lady Boyle's fate, it's established in The Corroded Man that Brisby (the guy that Corvo gives her to) mysteriously dissappears and that she inherited all of his fortune. So, she's doing pretty well for herself.
He doesn't get enough credit, and its annoying when people reduce him to his powers and acts that's all there is to him, when in fact he arguably doesn't even need them. For instance people think he couldn't hold his own against the Assassins Creed protagonists, but forget Corvo was basically suspected to have supernatural powers BEFORE getting the mark, due to his astonishing swordsmanship and agility. He's the classic badass normal who gets elevated to deity/demihuman status through a divine gift. I mean he could realistically probably take on most of the Avengers lmfao. And this isn't even to discuss his origins. He literally won a swordsman tournament at 17, and this raw talent enabled him become a part of the elite political class in Dunwall, despite being a foreigner of common birth. Then he goes on to have secret love affair with the queen like a Chad. Literally the epitome of the hero story.
Dishonored 1 gave chsracter to Corvo somewhat simmilarly to how the original Dead Space gave Issac a personality Mainly through characterizing their actions, with Issac he had a journal that would litterally tell you what he was thinking Whereas Dishonored 1 had the characters in the world describe roughly what the mindset of Corvo was at that time, bith worked very well seeing how both Dead Space 2 and Dishonored 2 gave their protagonists voice and it was really natural since they already had personalities to work with
I really enjoy the characterisation of Corvo in the second game because of that exact reason! more clearly presenting information that was in the background of the first game through notes and conversations. Not to mention the voice actor choice being Stephen Russell (Garret from Thief) is absolutely perfect
actually great video, glad i know this channel from youtube recommendation. very soulful type of making a video as opposed to those fast-cut montage slop that is everywhere, keep it up man
Great video man! I love it when people try to track down the exact canonical details regarding choices, weapons and upgrades for games, it makes the playthrough feel so much more authentic. Here's hoping you do a video on Daud soon.
What many people don't get is Corvo is not what they think he is.Many people says Corvo's story doesn't have a proper end and his revenge arc was not satisfying and that's why Daud is better than Corvo because he got his Redemption Arc but Corvo was never looking for revenge,he is a flat arc character he is not there to change but to make other's change. His action is what influences the world around him its the layer's actions for the world he wants to change.Under the empress Corvo was the Lord Protector and his duty was to protect not spread chaos he was a very higher ranking soldier he must have discipline and strong will for challenges he faces so he doesn't let his emotions get better of him.He is not there to hunt lord regent and his allies but protect the empire from its enemies which are the Lord Regent's allies that's why each non - lethal takedown makes sense.Corvo could have hunt everyone one of corrupt bastard and let the world rot but that's not what the empress would like.Because being a Assasin is not what you are but what was forced upon you its upon whether you want to adapt this new personality or stick to your guts.To him,it was always about family and loyality to the empress and that's why in the end he protects Emily and stands by her side and that is what makes his journey satisfying.
Daud and Billie deep dive when? Love the content and I hope you continue down this path of Dishonored character analysis and lore videos about pandyssia or the other isles
Great stuff man! Definitely punching up with the production quality. Just stick it out and keep making content and I'm sure you'll get the views you deserve!
13:00 So Hiram Burrows was actually arrested and lawfully executed. In Dishonored 2, there's a book called "Gathering of the Regenters" in a safe in an apartment near the carriage rail in the fourth mission that states this. Corvo killed the Torturer though. I guess he held a bit of a grudge against him 😂
There's a specific thing that's always caught my attention, a quote from Jesamines heart, "When the last leviathan is gone, darkness will fall." I'd be interested in this concept, what does it mean? Is it literal darkness because the oil runs out? Is it something to do with the Outsiders connection to the whales, and somehow the void will interact in a bad way with the world? Anyway, this is what I'd like to see, if you're up to the task 😅 I considered making a video essay myself but I'm just too lazy.
@@Pegarexucorn quickly had a look there, can't see the Dishonored video. Do you have a link? Also, thank you, this channel also looks very interesting.
My Corvo made my Emily a lawful evil/lawful neutral empress (middle chaos ending in which Callista survives, Samuel doesn't betray you, but the plague remains). I can live with being called brutal, as long as I am not betrayed. My goal is to make sure Emily will rule, stay in it and survive. It's kinda like the heart said, about an aristocrat's job. But that's why in "Dishonored 2" I'm more in line with the Overseers and the Duke's double. It is my attempt at maintaining a certain balance in power and to keep myself lawful enough. I'm not perfect, but I am concerned with the good of the people. That said, do you think I should try to get a "leaderless Serkonos" ending ? Maybe it's the most humbling ending for Emily, so she doesn't become too corrupt. By the way, if you think so, then I already have it planned. First I'll give Paolo to the Overseers, and then I'll exile Byrnes away.
The Lord Regent was canonically arrested and Corvo delivered his execution after a sentencing. Peeress and the Price shows us that Corvo slit Havelock's throat from behind, so no heated battle there. The reasoning behind people saying the Golden Cat was a slaughterfest makes little sense to me, there's virtually no guards between him and Emily once he gets in through the top floor. A D2 cinematic also shows D1 Corvo choking out a guard and firing his pistol at a bottle street thug, so that illustrates his general modus operandi. All in all, to be this confident about the things you're saying, you should've done more research.

Nah they're just siblings. The overseer dude's sister was going to be executed for "witchcraft" iirc so he was trying to smuggle her out of there but got caught. I suppose this guy meant "couple" non-romantically, but definitely a weird choice of words.
