    I have the same tractor (16 hours as of 5-31) and the same box blade Twins. The box blade was first on my TC26DA that I traded in on the Workmaster 40 in April. That mud, with some sand and maybe perlite mixed, should be great for a garden.
    Re: locking diff - I wouldn't buy a tractor without it.
    The ballast table in the loader manual, seemed on the light side to me, and seeing this, I'm sure of it. I have Pat's hooks on mine, so the implement sits back a couple inches farther, but that box blade isn't enough for heavy stuff.

    Really tough to watch. Super sketchy. I take it operator doesn't know much about the tractor if he doesn't know where the diff lock is. Are the rear tires filled? My LS XR4145HC has the rears full of beet juice and even with over 2000 pounds of gravel and rock I've never had it bounce around and teeter totter on hills like that. Definitely a high pucker factor moment. Glad nobody got hurt and the NH is still shiny side up

      He's actually a 45+ year career heavy equipment mechanic. I think he just had so much on his mind at the moment that he didn't think about the locker. And, this was the first time he's used a hydro. We've always had gear tractors before.

      @@4-LOW I understand that completely. I wasn't inferring he was a poor operator, just not used to the equipment. I had a learning curve too going from gear transmissions to my LS that is a hydro. It took me a week or so getting used to 2 pedals vs a clutch. After watching it a second time I've realized that the machine is the next frame size down from my LS (who makes New Holland's Boomer series and their other compact and subcompact models( yours included). Its narrower, shorter and lighter too. That may be why it's a bit less stable on the hill. Loaded down, my tires weigh almost 800 pounds each filled with beet juice. The Workmaster 40 tires are much smaller and would be 200 pounds lighter per side than mine. That would lead to more instability for him as well. Keep up the great vids. I recommend them to people all the time, especially the one on buying too small of a tractor.

    One wrong move and you're in the river no-doubt-about-it I'd be nervous to back Blade with a whole bunch of suitcase weights

    The tractor would do way better if you put good tires on it. I mean, ag tires. One thing i've learned is R4 are almost useless

    If the silt grows vegetables well
    I’d harvest the dirt and sell for top soil.
    I had a friend in Owensboro that told about that. Annually the back waters would come up and replenish the soil every year.
    They sold as top soil.
    And yes a track machine would be 10 times faster. A skid steer with chains might work.

    not a good operator at all, there was a high risk of serious injury on more than multiple occasions. That gentleman should have been removed from the machine in my opinion.

    It looks like you could have used a lot more ballast. Maybe suitcase weights hanging off the box blade.

    Thst tractor isnt acting like it's got loaded rear tires. Picking up the rear with just the front loader and skidding the rear around.

    Yep definitely would've been safer with an excavator and you could've smoothed out all that silt on the side of the ramp plus a whole lot less pucker factor. But I know sometimes you have to use what you got.

    I have a little John Deere Subcompact and I'm thinking about upgrading to something bigger and possibly New Holland. Have you noticed any rusting issue with your New Holland? I saw another guy's video where he showed his Boomer 40 was rusting pretty bad in a number of places and it was only a year old. I've had my John Deere for 3 years (bought it new) and don't see a spot of rust on it except for on the bucket where I scraped paint off.

    • @4-LOW
      @4-LOW  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, this one is now 2 years old and has sat outside almost the entire time and there isn't rust that I see anywhere on the tractor.

    Hi I enjoy your videos.Never thought I'd be watching tractor videos. Anyway can you recommend a tractor (s) for someone who bought 10 acres of land and needs to mow, clear brush, dig lines? Never been on one before, city boy. Thanks in advance.

    • @4-LOW
      @4-LOW  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on your budget. If you're going to mow nearly 10 acres, I think you'll want a 40 HP minimum tractor so you can pull a wider mower. The tractor I have in this video would be a minimum I would recommend.
