I will be picking up my New Holland Workmaster 25 tomorrow. While it wasn't powerful/fast enough for you, I don't expect that will be an issue for me. I only have a couple acres to care for and there are no significant hills. The features for the money were what really sold it, and the dealer was both close and well established. Hello just watched this video. I agree with a lot of what you said. A lot of the reasons you bought your tractor were the same reasons I bought mine. I got a lot of the features on the new holland that you had to pay extra on John Deere which was my 2nd choice. I love my purchase and have 10hrs on my workmaster 40 and i love it!
I think you’ve got me sold on the NH tractors. Been looking for a 35ish hp tractor for 11 acres. Local dealers are important. I think everyone makes a good compact tractor. With local dealers I’ve heard great things about our local NH dealer
I think part of your lack of power problem might have been from the hydro transmission. I had a Kubota L2501 gear drive and it did fine. The HST I used for a few weeks was underpowered in my opinion. I traded it on my 65hp JD. Now I’m looking for another compact and it will probably be the Workmaster 33 shuttle shift.
The L2501 is still basically underpowered for its size, even with a gear tranny. Saving the cash from a machine that needs the pollution stuff is nice and the weight is a bonus on a 25 hp machine, but if I were going for 25 hp, I would give up a little traction and get the maneuverability of a smaller tractor, something like the 26 hp B size compact that Kubota makes. Yeah, you would be lacking in traction sometimes, but for most jobs, the horsepower fits the smallest compacts better, and you still have a little more tractor than you would with a SCUT.
I'm with you on the loader control location. I just got a new 40hp Kubota, which I love, but I'm having a hard time getting used to the loader control being at my side instead of up front. And I'd never buy a John Deere - they have too many either proprietary or substandard features - they're coasting on their reputation.
I selected the WM35 for many of the same reasons. My dealer is 6 miles away which is convenient. Had it for 9 yrs, would not consider another brand at this size.
Late to the party, I know. Great Video. Loved the discussion on loader valve location as that's something I've been "struggling" with, not to mention arm rests. My only concern regarding NH compacts is that they are currently rebranded LS models. By everything I've found, a solid brand. Before that, they were Shibura. Again, great reputation & fully supported by Ford/NH. Not sure if they were rebranded, or even existed, before that. My point is that once the current agreement ends, will they stay the same? In my area, JD & Kubota dominate the sub-CUT/CUT market (better marketing?). Dealers are about equidistant (10 miles), but closest to me. NH & CiH about twice as far, Kioti, LS & MF about twice again as far, and TYM the farthest. I'd still consider a TYM before JD or 'bota. Based upon dealer support, I'd look long & hard at NH, as they've been around for at least 60 years (formerly Ford), and a place my father bought a couple of tractors from many years ago.

My right thigh is twice the size of my left from the treadle pedal on my Kubota. Exaggerating, but it does make your leg sore if you've been off the tractor for a few weeks or longer. My old tractor is geared and lower HP. It has more "balls" in use than the 26HP B2601.
New Holland offers higher horse power in a compact tractor. The Boomer can be had in 45, 50, and 55 horsepower. It is the biggest of the NH compact tractors and weighs about 600 pounds more than in the 30, 35, 40 horsepower class. The Workmaster series in the 50+ range is a full-size unit. We ended up with a New Holland Boomer 50 because of the current (2022) supply issues, a smaller tractor was an undetermined several months wait, the 50 was only a month.
Boomers are very nice, more elegant tractors. Dealer here basically says that the market here doesn't buy the smaller Boomers, and he basically only sells cab Boomers as a premium model. The Boomers are bigger, and have substantially stronger loaders in the equivalent hp to the Workmaster, though.
Some JD E series also has aluminum rear axle housings. They do make nice tractors in the R series, but you pay out the nose for "features". Your New Holland is made by Korean LS manufacturer. I have a TYM (also Korean)with same frame/tire size as yours with a cab. But 48.3Hp engine, I have put 200h on it since July 2021, still haven't regen yet. But I run it at 2k+ rpms, but no problems here either.
I have a Boomer 40 as well. Pretty much the same except my fuel tank is under the front step like you pointed to. Just passed 100hrs and am pretty. Plenty of power, reliable and it looks good as well. Good to see that others aren't being brainwashed into worshiping at the parts altar at the church of J.Deere. There are other good brands in the market despite what their cult wants you to believe.
Yup looks exactly like the LS 40HS, 40hp i have recently purchased. The reason u regenerate at 30 hrs instead of 50 is because u said u run it at 1400, when u should be running it at 2400, 540.
I have three New Holland compact tractors on my farms. They are extremely reliable units and absolute work horses. Deere has good products as well but they are way over priced for what you get……
precise RPM button would be nice for running a PTO generator, but outside of that I can't think of something where you'd want to program a precise rpm to go back to exactly over and over
Did you look at Branson tractors? If so, what were your thoughts? I own a 2515h, and I similarly went to John Deere and Kubota and for the price points and features they just didn't hold up to what you could get from a Branson. It's a confusing world TODAY!!! CNH Industrial which is a subsidiary of Fiat manages 12 tractor Companies. The top three companies are Case IH, New Holland, STEYR ( Austrian) and the others are ????? LS is from the LG Group in South Korea which uses three different engine groups LS Mtron, Mitsubishi and Yanmar. New Holland uses several engines from Fiat. It's a WORLD MARKET!?!?!? It's all assembled SOMEWHERE!?!?!?
I like it. love the dual brakes ! LS makes a good machine. Is the Engine a Yanmar? How many people actually take their loaders on and off? I even bale hay with my loader on. I have had 6 compacts, all sizes, with Parking loaders and Never took the loader off. Just sayin.... On Tires any 3 D or E series John Deere are on the lot with 43 inch tires. 3 D and E have fuel cell behind seat, like yours.. You got a lot in your package. Glad it works out for you.
My 2006 New Holland TC26DA (smallest compact form) was quieter, more maneuverable, than my MH Workmaster 40, but had no medium range, and struggled with the chipper/shredder. The Workmaster 40 is less elegant ergonomically than the older Boomer, but it does a nice job. The larger bucket is handy in the snow. Overall, I like the larger machine, but I do miss the ability to get into tight places. Still, the extra power is nice, and the middle range is handy. The Deer 2038R is a beautiful machine, but more expensive. I liked the treadle pedal on the little Boomer, except when ice got under the back in winter. Double pedals are better. Kubota treadles are not very ergonomic compared to the old Boomer. On uneven ground, the Workmaster 40 is FAR, FAR more stable than the smaller TC26DA.
Did you ever have the 'floppy bucket' problem ? I'm looking to buy a brand new NH Workmaster 35 but I read a lot of problems regarding that specific issue.
@@4-LOW John Deere uses Yanmar engines in the 1 thru 4 series but the tractors are not simply rebranded Yanmars as some people say. It is and has been a global economy for decades and next to nothing is 100% American made, but blanket statements like "John Deere is just a Yanmar" are patently false.
Now that you have had both the 25hp and the 40hp. Do you feel the 25hp would be sufficient if you had a smaller property? We have 13acres with a mile long dirt/motorcross track. Of the 13 acres only 1/3 are maintained; we mostly want it for maintaining the dirt track, and basic property maintenance. Our current picks were the l2501 or l3301 but the prices have made making a decision difficult. Thanks in advance.
You need a 40 hydro/gear or you may get away with a 35 gear only. 40 really is the magic number where Horsepower and torque overcome packed dirt, tree roots, etc. 40 is the number where your front end loader becomes a tool, and not something that should be a tool, but your tractor doesn’t have enough power to push.
I dont understand your concern about regeneration cycles. When the regen cycle starts or runs you have no loss of tractor power, or function. Hydraulics are not impacted. Everything works as usual. You can hear it, and smell it, and more dash lights light up, but your work is not effected at all. The only things you really shouldnt do are shut down the engine during a regen cycle, or routinely delay regen cycles. They only last a few minutes, which isnt generally a problem, unless you absolutely have to quit working at a particular time, and a regen cycle starts. The manual does say to defer regen cycle start, if you are driving in dry, frame high grass, that will be blasted with hotter than usual exhaust gasses during the regen exhaust system purge, so I guess you could use the same logic for getting to a little league baseball game, on time, not 10 or 15 minutes late. I have a NH Boomer 45 with 300 + hrs on it. My regen interval is about 40 to 50 hours. When Im doing minor puttering work, I too run at a lower rpm, but for any light pulling, snow plowing or loading work, I run about 1800 and for harder work run at 2000 or above. Mowing is always at 2200, to get the proper match of travel and deck blade speed, particularly if the grass is tall, damp or thick. Running the engine at lower RPMs, for extended periods actually decreases the time interval between regen cycles, as the engine isnt quite as efficient, and there are more non incinerated particulates to catch in the filter. My only frustration with my favorite "tool" is its weight. With the loader, and loaded rear tires, it weighs over 6000 lbs. Its fine if the ground is dry, but if the ground gets wet or soft, ruts in the grass are a problem. Its not really a tractor problem, its a "me" problem, because I have to park the tractor, and do something else.
my issues with my nh boomer 33 is that the regen didn't work and they wanted $5k to fix it. Same thing with many other people in that generation. I have no issue inherintly with regen as a whole, but when it doesn't work and costs me money it's an issue.
The subcompact tractor market will be the garden tractor market of tomorrow. Garden tractors from the mid 90s have next to no value. The compact tractors of the 90s still hold 80% of there value.

I have an old Tz24 I love to death but could use something a bit bigger like my old simplicity 9020(i guess technically it’s smaller but it’s so much more tractor then the nh). But I wouldnt hesitate to get another new holland
I love my New Holland Workmaster 35 ! I use it to Bush Hog 28 acres, occasionally haul/move gravel/dirt, or move downed trees (storms). Love it.
It's just like my LS and I absolutely love it with exception to the fuel drain.

I think the gear drive version of that tractor would work out better. Mine was hydro and the hydrostat sucked a lot of the power.
I agree with your decision. New Holland is a great tractor and dealer support is important long after the warranty has expired.

Change your tires to AG radial tires load them and you will see a huge difference. Them industrial tires are usless unless your on grass alot

I can't remember the brand, but Messick's sells them. They are quick disconnect. I really like it. I did a video on it a year or so ago.
Did you happen to look at the Case/IH? Seems to me they are the same tractor as New Holland with a different color paint.
Didn't have any dealers for those around here. Do they make a compact configured like this one?

When I was shopping for a 40hp compact I sat on a New Holland Boomer and a Case/IH same size. They seemed the same except color and decals.

look at the tag on the back you will see that it was made by LS
I knew that before I bought it. Just like Deere's are Yanmar and RK's are TYM. Nobody in America makes tractors below the "utility" class anymore.
