4c hair needs training and lots of moisture. beautiful curl patterns with shingling is possible. It just takes time and patience.

Random question but do you find that having longer nails affects how you do your hair at all?? I want to try getting nails like your cuz they look so pretty but I'm worried it will get in the way of doing my hair or something. Do you have any issues with them?
+Naomi Sarah the only issue I have is doing corn rows that I can leave the house with lol. Other than that I have no issues with them ❤️

This is my first time trying this method and my hair curls toward the end and from the beginning the root doesn't look defined. I'll try it again.

These are finger coils not the shingling method. When you shingle, you just pull the curl and let it define itself. You don't wrap the hair around your fingers in the shingling method. Your hair came out really pretty but finger coils always do.

Well darling, I guess it would be a long day and lots of gel trying to achieve define curls. But I know personally when some persons refer to "define curls" , they expect the result to be as close as possible to your curls. When I personally often get asked ," how do you get your hair so curly"? I normally say , gel but then girl .... long story!!!
If I had hair like yours already I would not bother to do anything just look after it.

Finger coils? I thought with shingling you just pull the curl and let it define itself instead of wrapping it with your finger like a coil.
The Girl With The Faces What she did was finger coils, you are correct on what shingling is. She did this wrong.

I believe if your hair doesn't have a loose or some sort of loose curl pattern it CANNOT and will NEVER look like yours.
+atube richards LOL wrong! There are persons who commented under this video who tried this method with 4c hair (hair that doesn't have a loose curl pattern) and achieved definition! I never said it'll look like mine. I said "to achieve defined curls". Everyone's hair is different and won't look exactly alike even if they used the same method. The point is to achieve definition on YOUR hair ❤️
