Both are trying to expose every ph's grip weakness. It is great to watch if you have a deep understanding of table tennis. It was so much fun cuz ph playing is way more strategic the sh. It is a mind war before technique.
Third Ma Lin game I watched during the lockdown. He lost in all three of them. To Boll, RSM and a Belgium player I have never heard of. Who was he? Some kind of a LGY of his era!?
Not having a rubber on the backhand makes the racket so light. Given the Penholder racket is very heavy, this makes a huge difference. I tried it once but changed my mind and went Rpb.
@@dickn.ormous1064 Not really. Ryu's movements were too large to be finished under 38mm ball. Him and Wang Liqin who got good power and large movements actually took benefit from 40mm ball.
@@HSHAZAM How were Ryu's movements too large? He played closer to the table compared to Kim Taek Soo and KTS could still keep up against anyone in the 38mm era despite having very average serve.RSM had excellent serves and would have certainly benefitted with the 38mm ball. After the 40mm ball was introduced everyone played closer to the table because the ball lost speed much quicker. The 40mm ball made Jpen backhand much more difficult there's hardly any doubt about that. Wang Liqin was an entirelly diffent player, his main problem being his poor return of serve which is why he lost so much with the 38mm ball.
I miss this Table Tennis Era. Ryu's footwork is incredible. He has the best footwork in Table Tennis in my opinion.
Agreed. I'd add that Ma Lin's footwork would be a close second. The 2000's were the most entertaining era with diverse styles and mental games.
@@fc63457Ma Lin was good only close to the table, from mid distance his posture and stroke formation was irregular and strained.
@@dickn.ormous1064 Defintely played like the grandpa at the club that destroys everyone.
@@fc63457Xu xin has better foot work than ma lin
@@fc63457Ma Lin is fast near the table but from mid-distance his posture gets deformed.
Ryu's forehand is supremely powerful and his coverage is huge.
At the time Ryu was unstoppable. This is one of my fav games ever, respect to both athletes
Wang hao prime stop his...
@@kine-tabletenniseditsdidn’t stop him winning olympics
RYU SEUNG MIN is my idol
Wow! RSM definately has one of the best forehands in the world!
RSM forever!
Ryu's forehand is legend..
kim T.s make his forehand
Holly smokes ryu was a machine !
Penholders make tt so much fun. Penholder vs penholder = epic.
This was perhaps Ryu's last great win against Team China and it was a good one. 2003-2007 he was really something to watch.
At his peak, RSM was unstoppable once he started opening up with the forehand. Even Ma Lin and Wang Liqin struggled to return it.
RSM has been best of the pen grip holders since 2004..! No one's got a F. Topspin sooo incredibly devastating!!!!! :)
Foot walk from Ryu is awesome!! :D
footwork..
Oh... thanx
it's funny but don't worry, simple mistakes are what makes life lighter. XD
Great Ryu

I am so happy to watch Ryu live in german league TTBL this year.
와 유승민 나이스!!!!!!!
RSM at his prime time !!! damn he must miss the good old back speed glue time!
Best foot work ever
RSM was fire on all cylinders.
I'd like watch RSM matches ;D
RMS and Kim Taek Soo - the 2 World's best J-Pen players from Korea!
Very very powerful and strong sping from either side. Impressive !
Ryu is from South Korea. Proud of him!
와.... 마린 상대로 일펜으로 저정도 명경기를..... 낭만의 끝판왕이다 류승민

Although Ma lost he's the BEST!!! MA LIN we need you 2014!!!

Incredible match !!... thx.
Amaizing footwork both players !!!
What a match!
Two of the most entertaining penholders ever
RSM has some of the best footwork and reach
the second set, RSM kicks ass
finally finally finally !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're welcome! :-)
Great rallies. Pawaaa
fantastic!
I think if a speed camera would be next to a table it would take a photo to Ryu
Last Chinese slayer , only one that regularly beat the Chinese
yes
Dat footwork... O.o
厲害啊柳承敏!竟然能打贏馬林
0:50 - 1:10 The best part of the match between the two penholders!!

Wow Ma lin was so fast!
Is it true that RSM doesn't have rubber on the bh side of his paddle? Wow ....
yupp, it's a japanese penhold bat

柳承敏的接发球是个硬伤,如果少用愚蠢的快接,多用挑打,他赢球的几率起码提高两倍。

Legends in table tennis. I think ryu seung is better a bit from ma lin. Ryu seung was for me the goat until xu xin arrived
Ryu's game was best suited for the 38 mm ball. It's a miracle he won the Olympics. He had the best footwork ever.Xu Xin is a class below them.
