      It can!
      It must re-transform to EEG. 😊 ...and let go the thinking of erase countries into 1 bigger one.
      EU as in;
      'Ein Volk, ein Reich!'
      ....das ist NICHT der richtigen Weg! 😊 ☝️
      Where sovereignity and identity of the nations and nation-cultures are respected. It is part of the BIODIVERSITY of Earth.
      Than it can expand eastwards, but i think BRICS has the same characters as the proposed EEG. Working together for economic means and human development, respecting nations peoples and cultures.

      Germany was a borrowed economy based on cheap Russian energy and metal and agro resources that were literally given to German non-productive industries for virtually free. Germany is KAPUT, AND Germans are "nobodies' forever, but in the EU with bigger losers like France and non-important UK and long lost Gucci italy are in a delusional status quo which real productive economies have bypassed them a decade ago by the Global South. for example Apple (next Tesla in decline) is now in precipitous decline like Volkswagen n BMW where 75% of the new economies are migrating from the collective West and the collective West is nada in 2030. Like these 2 wise Greeks postulate the BlackRock (leon Fink..CEO) phenomena is only viable becuz of the $37 Trillion unpayable debt, and Goldman sachs keeps driving the bubble on unrealistic S&P prowess which is still the propaganda perpetuated by Bloomberg becuz of their complete domination of MSM media in Murica, which is bought by the lobbyists on Wall St.

    I was working as a consultant in Tiawan almost 20 years ago now. But even then the businessman I worked with where looking to move factories out of China and into other parts of Asia. The driver was lower wages as was mentioned in this interview. But this is the normal cycle of capitalism. The owner class has no loyalty to nations or society. This cycle happened early in the last century leaving Europe for the USA. By the end of the last century the Corporations moved from the usa to China. Today China is the mature manufacturing base and the Corporations are chasing lower costs in other parts of Asia and India.

    • @yellowsheeps
      @yellowsheeps 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +17

      Correct, this is why it's the governments job to re-invest profits into heath, education, infrastructure and R&D. No country can stay low wage laborers forever. With reinvestment of profits, a county can move up the value chain. China has very successfully done that transitioning from manufacture of low skilled goods to being the leader in Renewable Energy (solar panels, ev vehicles), nuclear energy, communications (5G,6g Satellites) and Industrial Development (Infrastructure, High Speed Rail) to name a few. The Western Governments can never do this because they work for Corporations and Corporations only care about maximizing profits for it's shareholders in the short term. Research and Development requires long term investment with no guarantee of a profit.

    2003 - a George Bush era Paper titled " Disaggregation of Europe " gives a clue. The US did not want a rival. Split the EU from Russia, smash up and balkanise Eastern Europe and islamisise Turkey. And of course secure ME oil for the US - and sanction European trading partners. That plus normal capitalist disfunction.

    Wage suppression for industrial workers to the lowest level that allows them to merely survive and reproduce is a fundamental law of capitalism. Anything more than that requires protracted struggle by workers united, often through strikes, which may be brutally broken and ultimately fail, as history teaches.

    An interim comment, Dimitri. There was European and German innovation in the automotive sector. Common rail Diesel engines were invented in Italy and diffused and further improved by Bosch. The 6gen diesel engine was and is beyond other blocks capability. Infotainment was also introduced. The failires were driven by ideology, mixed with German tendency to comply with set directives. First, the Green party idea of EV massively damaged the car industry: an EV car is fairly simple, much easier than a diesel engine car. That's where they put their focus on, failing to develop an own solution, like fuel cell or expand CNG cars and refueling infrastructure. All ideology driven, rather than pragmatic. Then, Infotainment: innovation was driven by conservative thinking... T-online, or other TLC behemots, allying with big car makers. Nothing good came out of it. Instead, they could have had open source car app development. They could have pushed Linux in the 1990s, instead of being bribed by Microsoft. The French were focused on autonomy, and pushed their CAD and simulation software through public contracts. Germany did the opposite. Mobile phone innovation was also good at the beginning, and was then left to collapse. The elites failed the continent in many ways, including ideology, serfdom to other interests, and pure incompetence and complacency

    Assemblies at national, city and neighbourhood level’s are one way of giving people a voice. Citizens’ Assemblies where they have been held (like Ireland and France) have shown how people with very different even opposing views can come to conclusions that unite, responding to real human and social needs. For National sovereignty to be realised we need democratic mechanisms of governance for our communities and workplaces. Movements for this are small ax yet but they do exist and are attracting supporters.

    Last Dance at the Vampire Ball: West Searches for Answers to Its Demise
    An excerpt :
    As the reality of the coming Russian victory over the combined NATO Leviathan has slowly dawned on the West, it has engendered a poignant shift in the increasingly high-pitched narrative. The comprador elite class has awakened to the fact that their global order is on the brink of dissolution, following Russia’s unclothing of their designs. The many decades of Gladio and other subversions are coming undone before our very eyes, as the dreams of a certain line of elite architects stretching back many generations are being washed away by the fitful birth of a new world.
    Everywhere you turn, this elite moral panic is playing out front and center. As their industries die, their people gnash and seethe, and institutions flirt with collapse, the hoarse-voiced compradors clamber over each other to bleat out litanies of frantic warnings about saving themselves and their class:
    ___________
    The problem with the technocrats’ solutions is that they are more of the same. They are using the crisis of their impending collapse as a way to usurp control over the sovereignty of all European nations. Take the insidious ‘inside man’ Draghi’s article above, about needing ‘radical change’ to compete with China and the newly shifting global order. What he urgently prescribes reads like a script from his crony controllers at Davos: a call to action to ‘integrate’ the countries of the EU with an iron fist, coercing them into giving up their individual points of leverage to some higher, unelected bureaucracy.
    The dialectic is always the same: create a bogeyman to artificially unite people under one flag for ‘security’s’ sake-it’s the plot to 1984 and many other prescient works.
    ________
    What we are witnessing is the agonizing death of a centuries’ old colonialist system of exploitation. It is the hegemonic European and Anglo-Empire’s corrupt extractive dominance of the global economy for the trickle-up benefit of a class of elite merchant and banking families whose power and influence spans centuries.
    The way this Western order has cartelized and gamified the global economy is of course through their control of the banking monopoly, which mediates the flow of world finance and commerce to which they can apply endless arbitrage and seigniorage via control of the money supply by way of issuance of the dominant reserve currencies. To this day these remain: the Dollar and Euro, which together have combined for nearly 90% of global exchange.
    This system is the direct carryover of the predatory mercantile fusions of state, banking, and corporate powers which saw organizations like the Dutch and British East India Companies ravage the world. But as the sun set on the British Empire in particular at the turn of the 20th century, the Crown began to get increasingly restive about the rising powers of China and Russia.

    Very interesting video. Two caveats:
    1. Brexit HAS been an economic disaster for the UK and has created huge political problems. The cost of living has risen faster than most other countries, GDP growth has slowed and it is still not a sovereign nation, as this week's bond market crisis has shown. Furthermore, without access to the single market, Britain now desperately needs a trade deal with the US, which it still does not have. If and when a deal does come, the UK will be desperate and that is a very, very bad negotiating position. All in all, I disagree with Costas on this. I completely understand and agree with his antipathy towards the EU as an anti-democratic institution, but the way Brexit was handled was a complete disaster and has led to many, many problems, some of which are yet to manifest fully.
    2. More importantly, the lyrics to Hotel California are: "You can check OUT any time you like, but you can never leave", not check IN!

  • @rayglover8697
    @rayglover8697 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Enjoyed listening to Costas but when he started talking about the UK brexit he has got things totally wrong - whilst he did say that small business's are affected but not big business's - very vague I think. It has knocked our Fisheries and Farming sideways - the Farmers are up in arms. Infact I am leaving a link to a 'Brexit' channel below run by Liz Webster who is a farming spokes person on this issue of Brexit(often on MSM) - the comments left on her channel are very revealing and informative - and counters everything your guest has said. Sending produce to Europe from the UK is expensive regards administration and time consuming(filling out forms). Dismissing small business as Costa did is a mistake as SME's make up many billions of pounds of existing and future potential trade.
