I DID IT! Cleaned all 3 of our air conditioners! I am a 66 yr old female and got on our Winnebago 42QD and got it done. Thanks for the video…easy Peasy!
Sandra Westley from the UK well done, I am 76 and it would be impossible for either of us to get on top of our trailer, but at the start of the season we pay to have it fully serviced and completely washed and polished professionally, it looks really good, we feel at our age having had trailers for 40 years plus, we have earned being looked after, we still what to keep using our trailer so these are what you have to accept.😹😹
Oh my goodness Stacy I’m hearing you loud and clear! This week my husband tore his Achilles tendon and we live in our RV full time. I’m stressing big time as I’ve never towed our trailer.
Awesome job Stacey! Heal up quickly Phil! On our '15 33AA AC units, I also pour an ounce of chlorine into a solo cup of water, and then pour the mix into the condensate trays. Keeps the drip lines clear and the duck bill from getting clogged. Safe travels y'all!
Stacy, get a product called: EasyLiner Select Grip PVC Shelf Liner cut it to fit under your coffee pot and anything else you have on your counter that you don’t want to move during transport. I’ve used this under my Keurig coffee pot and my coffee pod holder and never ever have had it move and we’ve owned a lot of different coaches from a 40’ class A to smaller class A’s and even class C’s and use these under stuff I want to leave out on our counter and it never moved. My paper towel holder fell over but did t slide lol. I wouldn’t recommend you leave stuff on a counter in any pull behind trailer but in the drivable these work great. Hope this helps and still empty your coffee pot out though.
I wanted to say thank you for all your tips on maintenance. What a difference it made with the window lube & slide lube. We bought a used diesel pusher and apparently they never did maintenance on it. Great job! Again Thank you
My wife would volunteer... to call someone. We have the diesel Oasis® water heather and it requires a bit more annual maintenance. It also heats the RV. When it comes to AC maintenance, don't overlook the bolts that hold the unit against the gaskets.(Inside unit) The vibration going down the road can cause them to back off. I know many RVers who put the coffee maker in the sink.
I did it, got up on the roof and serviced the two A/C units. As simple as you said it would be, and they were pretty clean. I bought a tool for straightening the fins but didn't use it, as you demonstrated, the brush on the cap of the cleaner did the trick. The hardest part was getting my large self up there. This would have been a $149 charge at my local repair shop. Thanks so much for this.
We’re in the process of prepping our newly bought old RV for some fun travels and this video helped cover some blind spots; we might of missed otherwise. Phil and Stacy, you balance each other. Thank you both for the tips.
Happy to hear ‘Hot Water Heater’ used by someone besides me. Maybe it’s a Texas thang for me. I’ve been called out many, many times for using those 3 words together. I’ve been asked why I use the word Hot when describing a Water Heater. People tell me Water Heater is enough to describe the piece of equipment. “Whatever”...I like Hot Water Heater. Stacy has it right!!
I (Phil) just did AC cleaning on my front AC which is only 10 months old and got a 12° cooler differential from before and after. 56° output versus 44 now! The outside temperature is 87° and the inside temperature is 81. Even though this is a newer AC, it has been periodically shutting down because I think it is hitting some kind of a high temp shut off. I went up and the coils looked clean but holy cow! It doesn’t matter how your coils look as much as doing the routine maintenance! Wow!
We have a TT now, but have rented Class C's before and everything was tucked away when we traveled. In the event of an accident you definitely don't want a projectile coming at you. Glad you didn't get hurt. That was a helpful maintenance video! Thanks!
Every woman who RV’s as a couple needs to know how to do these things! I became as competent to make repairs as my better half! Two heads are better than one!
This video was VERY encouraging. The husband and I plan to retire as full-time RVers in 7+ years' time. RV maintenance worried me greatly--until this video! Watching Stacy dive right in and listening to her explain the processes made me less worried. Nice job and thank you for making this video!
I truly appreciate this video. I am a hands on visual learner and you helped me tremendously by doing this. Thank you and hope to encounter you guys out there one day.
You two are clearly wonderful people. I watch your channel as much for the content (learning) as I do to watch you both in action. I like the get-er-done PHILosophy when there's a job at hand. Enjoy folks.
We are seasonal campers. Maintenance is once a year. Some items make sense at the beginning of the season. Others as your putting the RV into winter storage.
Watched your video last night. We really love your channel. Downloaded your spread sheets!! Thanks for the advise on cleaning the A/C coils and conditioning the rubber on the slide out. Not sure if you mentioned to be careful with the A/C capacitors, as they retain their charge (even when power is turned off) until discharged. Thank you again Dan and Shirley.
Way to stick to the SOP “Everyone needs to know how to do everything”. Not do, but know how to do. PMS doesn’t wait for sick call. Water softener definitely helps the anode. Thanks for your service Phil & Stacey! Good job roof mistress Stacey!!
Great post, guys...I don't what I did or if it was just coincidence, but I cleaned my coils a few weeks ago and then the front unit stopped blowing cold air (d'oh!). Checked the capacitors, now it's off to the mechanic tomorrow. :( But yeah, getting those covers off is quite the chore!
Good luck throughout the healing process, and I hope your back heals up. I can relate to your pain. I have to have cervical and lumbar ablations twice a year. It really gets old but it keeps me on my feet.
I hate your channel (SQUID!!), but I'm so addicted to it! The information, tips, tricks, and advice that you give are invaluable!!! You guys rock! Semper Fi (and thanks for the rides!). I always look forward to the next one!
I love that yalls Navy comes out every once in a while. I'm about to retire myself. I'm going the skoolie route instead of your very nice RV. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences.
I have an appliance garage so the coffeemaker goes there, but I do put the coffee pot in the sink if there's still coffee left. Isn't it a mortal sin to pour out perfectly good coffee? That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
We do the same thing. Works great, and peace of mind. We also have a 5th Wheel so we have no idea what's going on back there as we're driving down the road. 👀
Great info as usual, especially the tips on air conditioner/heat pump maintenance and another checklist item for our quarterly/annual maintenance schedule! FWIW, I've found that 3M 5200 Marine Adhesive/Sealant also works extremely well for potentially damp or wet areas like countertops.
Never underestimate the power of STACEY. Just to let you know I blamed my most recent purchase on you guys because STACEY is my wife's height. The ebikes are great 👍🏾👌🏾
Phil getting old Sucks. I am going in for a MRI before another shoulder surgery and had 2 knee surgeries. I have paid more for repairs this year because I couldn't do the repairs myself. Be safe.
Not all water heaters have anode rods :) Mine is an Atwood has an aluminum tank no anode needed drove me nuts trying to find one then I find out there is not one at all lol good info to pass along
Hi, yes the water softener takes out the metal and calcium deposits in the water which in turn helps to protect all of your plumbing and appliances that use water. my slide-out seals were looking fine, I tried to be pro-active and coated them with the conditioner, 2 weeks later one of the seals was eaten away in several spots. makes me wish i never sprayed them down. the one part of our RV I just can't seem to find replacement parts for. as far as the AC goes, if you are not in a dirty area, you should be fine for a while, but if the area you are in is dusty / dirty off the side of a freeway or something like that, it may need maintenance much sooner. I am in southern California where it is dry and dusty. when i do our ac maintenance I simply use compressed air and blow out the condenser and evaporator. I never use chemicals if I do not have to, mostly because my wife is sensitive to odors. JB Weld ?? OK if it makes you feel good...lol I would have used an epoxy cement also. I don't like to do the same repair twice especially do to weak repairing materials. another great video, best of health and safe travels.
Good job on the roof, Stacy; very nicely done. Totally agree with holding off replacing the anode rod; good call. All those "git-'er-done" fixes can be interesting, Phil. Y'all Be Safe!
Thanks for all the information that you share and we really appreciate you taking the time to share your life with everyone! Still working on getting everything sold off and hitting the road. Awesome videos and hope Phil's recovery goes well!
Phil, wishing you a quick recovery. Stacy, outstanding job! You may wish to include a few cups of bleach and hot water. Cleans the organic goop out of your ac drain lines. Just make sure they drain off the roof and you don't combine cleaner and bleach, that could have a s sporty reaction......
That one is not as easy......we get in as far as the arm will reach. I have been wanting to to see if we can get to it from the inside when the slide is in, but alway forget to check....thanks for the reminder.
Hi there , great informative video. I have a travel trailer and feel very vulnerable when something goes wrong. The RV course you mentioned sounds great. Do you recommend for a novist RV. I am a nurse and thats all i know. Thanks again .
Absolutely! When I went to the course, there were 60 year old school teachers, 20 year old hospitality workers....and they all had no skills that were relatable. It is designed for just about anyone! They have equipment that you can actually see and work on that are common in RV's.
Thanks for the video! Now I will have my husband go and do the maintenance...(I’m Phil in this case...lol. Bum knee and back). Also, can you tell me what water softener system you have in Ruby?
It’s time to have Stacy come teach a class at the academy!
😂😂😂 I did teach nursing school! I can be just as messy!!
I bet she could do a great job.
I DID IT! Cleaned all 3 of our air conditioners! I am a 66 yr old female and got on our Winnebago 42QD and got it done. Thanks for the video…easy Peasy!

I think it’s awesome that Stacy can and does some of the maintenance when needed, kudos to Stacy.👍🏼👍🏼
👏
I just want to thank you both for your service to our country. It is people like you that make America great!
Oh my goodness Stacy I’m hearing you loud and clear! This week my husband tore his Achilles tendon and we live in our RV full time. I’m stressing big time as I’ve never towed our trailer.

I was just searching the internet for an editable checklist with no luck until I watched your video. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
PHIL!! Your tongue must be BLOODY from biting it every time Stacey said "hot water heater" 🤣🤣🤣
Right!!!

Gorilla makes a really good grippy shelf liner too
@@marycraig9434 thanks good to know, didn’t know gorilla had one out there

Sweet! Now you start a side job for others. It feels so good when you can knock out something like this and save some money in the process.
wow somebody married well, I love your honesty not claiming to be experts on everything.
The water filter talk was great. Changed my setup. Thank you.
Glad it helped!
We’re in the process of prepping our newly bought old RV for some fun travels and this video helped cover some blind spots; we might of missed otherwise. Phil and Stacy, you balance each other. Thank you both for the tips.
Our pleasure!

Being an old HVAC contractor you did an outstanding job on the AC.
THanks!
You two are clearly wonderful people. I watch your channel as much for the content (learning) as I do to watch you both in action. I like the get-er-done PHILosophy when there's a job at hand. Enjoy folks.
Love it
I've got a copy of your spreadsheet that I will use to make a maintenance checklist for my new to me RV. Thanks guys. Keep the good stuff coming.
Thanks, guys. You make me laugh while learning. As soon as I get my RV picked up. Hopefully, here in 2 weeks. I am scheduling NRVTA class.
Flying coffee pot. Been there, done that. Rush hour traffic in Portland, OR. Learned a lesson.
Yikes!
We are seasonal campers. Maintenance is once a year. Some items make sense at the beginning of the season. Others as your putting the RV into winter storage.
Thank you for recording all your maintenance and repairs. It is very helpful to understand everything involved. Keep up the great work. Safe travels.
Very good portable AC. Very good price as well for the performance!
I agree with you Phil get in there and get the job done and get out
Enjoyed the video. Way to go Stacy on the AC’s. Thank you all for your service.

it's amazing that we all have the same issues with our coaches. ThomyT
Stacy is a Warrior! Girl Power!
Lou & Angie
Good job on your repair, lot of good helpful ideals on the maintenance and maintaining RV.
Glad it was helpful!
Love how you get the drone up to take the aerial pic of the rig heading down the highway! Thanks for the video.
Glad you liked it! Chad from Changing Lanes videoed that for us.
Thank you for sharing this. Get better Phil.
Way to stick to the SOP “Everyone needs to know how to do everything”. Not do, but know how to do. PMS doesn’t wait for sick call. Water softener definitely helps the anode. Thanks for your service Phil & Stacey! Good job roof mistress Stacey!!
Great point!
Glad to hear the RV training you received is useful. Great video on the AC.
It sure is!
You could also use a food grade anti-seize on the anode rod threads.
Great job Stacy on the AC units. Phil, I have the same discussion with Alice when I just jump in and get things done without a camera.

I think it’s time Stacy goes to the school since she’s doing a lot of the work.
Great video and yes Phil those little fixes like the counter edge needs to be videotape. Keep up the great work love your posts!

Congratulations you got Stacy on the roof excellent plan !

Good job. Now Pat wants to do the AC units. My knees will not take the ladder and bending :D
You go girl!
This is awesome! I will be doing this soon!
You guys are an inspiring rv channel. Keep it up
Thanks so much!
Nice to see you back.
Hey, thanks!
I've shared this video with other people bcuz it is so informative.
Thank you!
Thanks for the info, Phil & Stacy. Time for me to get on the roof.
She's a keeper for sure
HI FROM THE TOWN OF PRINCETON WEST VIRGINIA USA MERCER COUNTY. THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO.
How do you do your top seals
My question as well
We use a swiffer mop handle with a microfiber rag on it and slide it under the slide topper. It takes a few try's to get the angle down.
Good job on the roof, Stacy; very nicely done. Totally agree with holding off replacing the anode rod; good call. All those "git-'er-done" fixes can be interesting, Phil.
Y'all Be Safe!
Thanks for the spreadsheet! We use Trello to keep track of maintenance. Allows me to set reminders so I get shamed by email when I forget!
Thanks for sharing!
Looks like your NRVTA schooling is coming in quite handy.
Nice job Stacy.
Thanks for all the information that you share and we really appreciate you taking the time to share your life with everyone! Still working on getting everything sold off and hitting the road. Awesome videos and hope Phil's recovery goes well!
I can relate to get'er done, but really appreciate you showing us how you do things.
Safe travels and good health.
Lot’s of great info!
Feel better Phil! Props to Stacy for stepping up to the plate! Wouldn't be my favorite either!

Lemon oil works great as an alternative to chemicals
Another great video, quick question, how do you get to the seal under the slide topper. Thanks Larry
That one is not as easy......we get in as far as the arm will reach. I have been wanting to to see if we can get to it from the inside when the slide is in, but alway forget to check....thanks for the reminder.
How do you turn off the water heater from the outside? I understand flipping the breaker from the inside. Thanks for the info.
Stacy should start teaching some of the classes at NRVTA! 😜
😂
Awesome. Ty for the information.
Great video as usual 😁😁🥰🥰Safe Travels ❤
Thank you! You too!
Phil...I always have to go back after doing a job once the wife looks at it! Hope you're doing well..
Another great video, we are considering a 33aa is the storage in the belly adequate for full time travel? thanks
it is adequate for us but everyones needs are different.

Your audio is really clear, any link or information on the equipment you are using?
We use the Wireless Rode mics that are a really nice addition to our camera gear.
For some reason, I can't get Phils maintenance excel sheet. I tried the link on your site. But I never get a email. Thanks! Love the videos.
Try this link: mailchi.mp/8a5361a4ed29/ymrvmaintenance
@@todayissomeday I'm still not getting any email for it. Yes, I have checked my spam folder.
Stacy you are a star! hahaha My wife would never go up on our roof!
Stacy, how do you treat the slide seal on the top of the slide? I have a full wall slide and not sure how to do this? Any suggestions?
Great information Thanks
Thanks for the video! Now I will have my husband go and do the maintenance...(I’m Phil in this case...lol. Bum knee and back).
Also, can you tell me what water softener system you have in Ruby?
Hey Tina, we have this one: kit.co/youmeandtherv/rv-electric-water-hookups/on-the-go-rv-water-s
Love you all, from another NAVY VET!
Nice Job to Stacy. I want a shirt like Phil's hook up shirt. I love that.
