I don't need a game to do anything new.. I just need it to do it competently.. and that's something you don't get from modern AAA anymore, I mean just looking at the keybinds for this game, already has it in a place that I would much rather play it than call of duty.. I mean credit where it is due, this actually looks like a PC game, instead of a watered-down consulitis regression fest that we're getting so commonly.. it's sad that the standards are as low as they are, but like... We're getting to a point where left and right leaning seems to be this boutique rarity in shooters when it used to be a standard regardless of the genre.. now you're starting to see military shooters without it, where that was the last bastion for something like that... It's got a good view model, it's got good basic normal PC controls for the kind of game.. I really hope the free-to-play nonsense doesn't become a thing, because lol... Like they have a thing here that could be a thing, and the one thing that could really get in the way is The kind of infrastructure and mentality that comes with free to play... And add extraction to that makes me even more nervous, as that's a right field for the hacking, and the way to solve that is community servers.. But at the very least a price tag can negate a lot of that nonsense.. and I don't think this has either?
Its literally just a direct copy of COD and Battlefield with all of the faults that both series has, and it's a chinese free-to-play game that will be loaded with microtransactions and spyware.
I'm really liking both available modes in the alpha. My very first extraction game, been weary of the genre but this is casual and challenging enough to want to play more with friends, not randoms. It's alpha test but damn it comes out swinging a Dice sized sausage. Few problems on both modes but nothing major so far. Can't wait to watch and play more.

Delta Force is the OG. Novalogic launched Delta Force (1) back in 1998. To put this in perspective, this was one year prior to Medal of Honor coming out to the PS1. Five years before the first Call of Duty came out. I agree this obviously has mechanics that other games have already made. But it appears to be very enjoyable and fresh still.
I'm having a blast with this game, the ability to play an extraction shooter and get the hang of the mechanics in a non permadeath environment is such a good idea. Its a blast so far, spawns and weapon balance need a little work, but other than that its feels really good so far!

also, by holding the reload key, you can choose which ammo to put in a gun, which might be useful if you want to clear bots vs if you know you might get in a fight
this game is in alpha and is already in a better build than BF2042 after patches. dont care if it is a carbon copy of it, it works, it is fun and engaging and F2P. what more players need?
Times are changing and the guard will also slowly change these big time developers will be over thrown by new companies who put out complete good games like this especially in a alpha stage

I "love" how most of these games go for a lot of realistic stuff, but still use that reload system of bullets not magazines. That being said, the video was fun but these games are not my cup of tea. Leaving a like and comment for the algorithm.
Thanks, I'm aware of those games but they aren't really my cup of tea, but I think that detail doesn't have to be only on heavy sim, you know? Games like Insurgency Sandstorm and Helldivers 2 do that and works very well without the need to be heavy sim. I just find funny when games go for a realism approach and do that bullet reload instead of mags. I just wish more games used the mag reload system, I remember when Battlefield used to, back in Battlefield 2.

Bullet reloads is what 99% of games do, the game only counts your total bullets when reloading, not the actual magazines, that is more friendly to gamers because you are not punished for spamming reload after firing whatever number of shots. You have, for an example, a gun with a total of 90 ammo, and that gun has a magazine of 30 ammo, so it shows "30/90" or "30/60" in the game HUD. If you shoot 1 bullet and reload, you will have again 30 ammo in the mag and a total of 89 ammo, showing 30/89 or 30/59. If the game does magazine reloads (like Helldivers 2, Insurgency, Ready or Not, and some others) you have magazine numbers in the hud. Using the same example above, with 30 ammo in the mag and 90 total, you would have "1/3 mags" or "1/2 mags" in the HUD. So if you shot 1 bullet and pressed reload, you would have tossed away a nearly full magazine, so now you are left with 2 magazines (60 bullets total + 1 the chamber left from reloading not an empty gun). Also, after reloading from a not empty magazine, you already have 1 round in the gun chamber, so you actually have 31 rounds in that gun (30 from the new magazine + 1 in the chamber for the prev. mag.). This kind of realistic reload teaches you to be more aware not only of reloading but also firing, and helps to give more intensity to the game. I doubt, Cod mobile is infested of hackers to a point it's basically unplayable in ranked, they never did a damn thing about it. Probably won't be different here, so I suggest you don't play extraction mode for your own sanity.

yer it's the small things that lose me in these. like healing, magazine switching to top off ammo but magic reloads bullets into new mags. quickscoping, jumpshot, sidestepping/jumping/crouch-stand fast etc. to make people miss more in dumb ways. (honestly just put in a coloured line around people who move to indicated how our eyes are specifically designed to notice movement above all others.) dmg off higher caliber bullets, taking 7.56 to the body/limbs and being fine. spray and pray tactics (bullets are extremely limited, like 10 mags max on each soldier). friendly fire not mattering. bad interfacing making it hard to orientated due to 2d screens (so many mechanics that could help and would counter the above issues being fixed, like thermal vision, drone targeting, smart glasses/display etc. and it would be better than magic healing etc.) downing systems are horrifically dumb. resurrections are just offputting, rather see redrop and one off the main scales for success is how many soldiers you get killed for the mission success. looting people on map. you really didn't bring the equipment you needed? have to rely on looting enemies.. that's just dumb... i get it maybe for extra ammo, but even there... general gameplay goals and objective (always seem to lack off lot in the majority, or and are there to hamper you and will result in 'loss/redo" ) etc
I do not feel a call of duty. DMZ feel from this at all. This is more of an arcade version of Arena Break Out, and personalized Delta Force did it better. Lots of fun, great video!
Not that beggars can be choosers, but this looks like call of duty with a battlefield paint job. Looks like battlefields vibe, but the laser accurate rifles and all the abilities and such say it’s not.
i gonna play this just for the DMZ mode, really hope it has a solo mode, the extraction kinda sucks.. i prefer DMZ jumpinig into the heli and trying to survive as it flies away
I submitted a survey for the current playtest and one thing I suggested was (and this is going to be a bit controversial for obvious reasons), the ability to turn OFF cosmetics client side in the settings. I understand that this will be a free to play game and that's going to be the main source of profit for the game/studio. I am not naïve to that fact. BUT, I feel like this game, so far anyway, has a more "realistic" or "grounded" feel compared to a lot of shooters, ESPECIALLY free ones. The people who will turn his setting on will most likely not purchase cosmetics anyway, so it wont be too much of a difference in profits, it just makes it more appealing to a wider audience. Games like call of duty and Battlefield started out with a more realistic feel, but now it just feels like a carnival of colors and effects, that ruins immersion. I LOVE DF:HO so far and I really want it to succeed. But this change would be best for ALL players, not just ones that like flashy skins or guns. This will also ease the mind of the people who just want a normal tactical, large scale battlefield shooter. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
I hope the hud has some customization. It's really busy, visually, and it'd be nice to cut the clutter. Game looks rad tho. As a huge tark/DMZ fan I'd love to have another option to play with my more casual buddies.
Yeah it’s definitely better than dmz as far as detail on the inventory and looting system. The only the only thing thats good about dmz is the helicopter exfil.
I think if you go in with the mindset that "It's everything BF should have been!" you are setting yourself up for disappointment. It's a solid free-to-play FPS that borrows a lot from Battlefield (some good, some bad) but doesn't come close to matching the best games of the series.
It's more like MW Groundwar than Battlefield Conquest. No jets and the vehicles feel very cheap, maybe even worse than BF 2042 vehicles somehow. Infantry gameplay is pretty good I guess but there are still heroes and no classes just like 2042. It really misses the mark on what makes Battlefield Battlefield. They copied the worst BF game, 2042, for some reason.

Being its F2P I'll try it out and see whats up, probably talk about it some in a video or two, but it doesn't look like something I'd say "what BF should have been" lol. We'll see I guess.

The people who will turn his setting on will most likely not purchase cosmetics anyway, so it wont be too much of a difference in profits, it just makes it more appealing to a wider audience. Games like call of duty and Battlefield started out with a more realistic feel, but now it just feels like a carnival of colors and effects, that ruins immersion. I LOVE DF:HO so far and I really want it to succeed. But this change would be best for ALL players, not just ones that like flashy skins or guns. This will also ease the mind of the people who just want a normal tactical, large scale battlefield shooter. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I hope the hud has some customization. It's really busy, visually, and it'd be nice to cut the clutter. Game looks rad tho. As a huge tark/DMZ fan I'd love to have another option to play with my more casual buddies.
Yeah it’s definitely better than dmz as far as detail on the inventory and looting system. The only the only thing thats good about dmz is the helicopter exfil.

I think if you go in with the mindset that "It's everything BF should have been!" you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
It's a solid free-to-play FPS that borrows a lot from Battlefield (some good, some bad) but doesn't come close to matching the best games of the series.
It's more like MW Groundwar than Battlefield Conquest. No jets and the vehicles feel very cheap, maybe even worse than BF 2042 vehicles somehow. Infantry gameplay is pretty good I guess but there are still heroes and no classes just like 2042. It really misses the mark on what makes Battlefield Battlefield. They copied the worst BF game, 2042, for some reason.
@@Adelic1 See that's what I'm fearing. The fact I can tell elements from CoD and 2042 inspired this title is kind of off putting. Being its F2P I'll try it out and see whats up, probably talk about it some in a video or two, but it doesn't look like something I'd say "what BF should have been" lol. We'll see I guess.
I'm seeing the replies lol. For context, people who say that are the ones that mean it feels like BF3/BF4 days. If you enjoyed those days, that's what's it feels like. Just for it to be alpha and it feels this good is crazy too. You'll love it when it finally hits consoles.

@@wallclock4648 I believe they were referring to their squad of friends called "F.A.S.T." which is Fugglet, Aculite, StoneMountain, and Tomo. I agree though, it would be cool to see them play Squad as well as Body Cam.
UE5 needs to be used on everything from now on. Good lord. Have you played Hellblade II? And now this…imagine BF6 with UE5 and destruction… holy hell.
More like companies need to build their in house engines off of unreal 5 the fact that ue5 is open source means alot of assets are available to the general public, a combination of frostbite(bf engine) and ue5 would be insane
