I reinstalled this game very late last year, started a new toon, and loving every minute of it, the soundtrack to back it up makes this game perfection. If I was learning to play piano THIS would be the first song I would learn, love this game
Fallenbassline I haven't bothered to learn an interment because I'm simply not good at learning new things, it would take me half a year to learn the basic layout of the keyboard, or whatever it's called, I have tried other things, and can't get my head around them.
Not to mention his work in Icewind Dale. Amazing music.Really made the world of icewind dale FEEL cold. I was actually wondering why this song was so good, then I saw this comment.
No the version you hear at the end features the singer Asja. The instrumental version (not the one in this video) also plays after various sylvari missions and during Source of Orr. This version, however, was played at the promotion.
It's played at vistas in the Grove, when going to the instanced area where the Avatar of the Pale tree is, and at some story moments. For example, there's a moment in the personal storyline (which is in every character's storyline) where it is played, and it is found in the Arah dungeon too. There are some other rare points where it's played, but I don't remember them.
I've been in love with it fr the past 2 months. My main race is Charr, and my favourite of my four Charr is my Warrior. Hundred blades and a sigil build really rocks through most, if not the entire game though I have moved to a different build. I also have a Charr Guardian, Engineer and thief, with a human mesmer and a Sylvari Necromancer.
It's played through out your personal story as you progress later on, it is also done in vista's and other key moments of the game, they use it mainly on point where they want the most emotional reaction from the game.
When this song came up, man.... I am a man and proud to say that it hit me in the feels as hard as bruce lee would kick me in the nuts. It's just so freaking good and so well timed with the situation it comes up.
Love this game, so glad to play it again after getting a desktop instead of a laptop and love the Sylvari and everything they represent. Brilliant music! :D
lyonra I think that's kinda cool though, I personally would rather be descendants of some dragon then descendants of some civilization that got smushed by their own stupidity! *cough cough* Orr! ... XD“ But I shouldn't say that because as the Sylvari saying goes, 'All things have a right to grow; the blossom is the brother to the weed”.
Its played at the end of the game as well while in the last phase of the personal story, as well as small areas around the game namely in the sylvari area.
Oh don't misunderstand, I love some of the WoW Soundtracks. I still listen to Invincible most nights before I fall asleep. WoW has many incredible compositions, and I adore most of them. My point however was, that a large majority of the best WoW music was used in their trailers, while the tracks used in the game were good, but not that good. Guild Wars on the other hand had some of its best music in game. The Age of the Dragon will be forever on my mp3, and now, Fear not this Night as well. :)
Thank you for correcting my spelling. :) I love you! I hope you have a merry day and that light infuses with your being and become a shining beacon for everyone.
Hey, if you really want to hear the full version, finish the story mission "Victory or Death" and just wait in the last instance. For the record, its the last one.
Absolutely, the themes for morrowind and oblivion are fantastic, then skyrim is a mixture of them both. This song also sounds like an elder scrolls them lol :P
Hmm not sure about extended version as such, sounds like the same iteration of the 1:30-ish song 7 times over. I love J. Soule's work and it goes hand in hand with Mr. Dociu's artwork IMO, but if you want to hear a proper version of this epic song look up Malukah... that'll get the feels going, keychanges FTW.
Jeremy Soule is the man. TBH the one thing I liked above all in the original Guild Wars was the music. Sure, the stories were okay, but nothing incredible, compared to some of the other we've seen. Same for the graphics and animations. The 8-skill system was interesting, but it quickly became a pain in PvE. But what really made GW better than all other MMOs was the music. WOW came close, but they kept their best tracks for the trailers, while GW had excellent music all around.
you here it in the mother tree's area and you here it when Terhern (yes I spelled that really wrong lol) is clearing teh poison out of Orr.... you also here pieces of it in teh vistas inthe grove
Firsly, yes I've read your entire posting. What is more I know, that I've made a mistake because I was in hurry. I am still learning so sometimes I make mistakes.(beside that "think""thing" are entirely different words)Yes my bad. If you want to know more check encyclopedias. English only partly comes from Germanic languages, but it is not its mainly. English is classified as an Indo-European language. But one other thing. Maybe end this conversation and relax while listening this soundtrack :)?
World is saying hello to Germany. Check any english dictionary to see, theres no such a word like "componist -_- Only "composer". Do you thing, every word belongs from German language? Really? Nope sorry. Backing to music. Really breathtaking composition, that I can nearly listen this again and again.
Even after 10years still one of the best and beautifullest songs. ❤
I reinstalled this game very late last year, started a new toon, and loving every minute of it, the soundtrack to back it up makes this game perfection. If I was learning to play piano THIS would be the first song I would learn, love this game
Hehehehe!
I play the piano!
But honestly, if this doesn't motivate you to learn, I don't know what would...
No offence intended, if any...
Fallenbassline I haven't bothered to learn an interment because I'm simply not good at learning new things, it would take me half a year to learn the basic layout of the keyboard, or whatever it's called, I have tried other things, and can't get my head around them.
Fair nuff
Thel Vadamee wait did you mean instrument?
Being able to put up an amazing instrumental is one thing, but being able to put one's soul in it is something else. Jeremy Soule is a GOD!
I am reminded of the days that we were waiting for the game to release and watching all the trailers, getting excited at everything released :D
Not to mention his work in Icewind Dale. Amazing music.Really made the world of icewind dale FEEL cold.
I was actually wondering why this song was so good, then I saw this comment.
Jeremy Soule's work is just amazing.
God blessed this man with an amazing talent for creating songs like this.
After I finnished my personal story, I finally realized this is one of the most awsome game music i've ever heard!
The song is called Fear Not This Night, if any of you were wondering.
the Composer of Guild Wars 2 is a genius. Head off for this guy.
No the version you hear at the end features the singer Asja. The instrumental version (not the one in this video) also plays after various sylvari missions and during Source of Orr. This version, however, was played at the promotion.
I stood listening to this for ages when it played.
It's played at vistas in the Grove, when going to the instanced area where the Avatar of the Pale tree is, and at some story moments. For example, there's a moment in the personal storyline (which is in every character's storyline) where it is played, and it is found in the Arah dungeon too.

I love this game, and this is my favourite music
I remember this being my favourite song to play on the choir bells minigame at X-mas. That was fun :D
Jeremy Soule-The best compositor ever.
Morrowind, Oblivion,Skyrim and Guild Wars 2-Briliants OST
It's played through out your personal story as you progress later on, it is also done in vista's and other key moments of the game, they use it mainly on point where they want the most emotional reaction from the game.
When this song came up, man....
I am a man and proud to say that it hit me in the feels as hard as bruce lee would kick me in the nuts. It's just so freaking good and so well timed with the situation it comes up.
This song hit me right in the feels.
Jeremy Soule, he also made the music for The Elder Scrolls III - V, Neverwinter Nights and both Guild Wars 1&2.
You can just feel the Elder Scrolls in there :) can't w8 for august the 25th !
This is amazing. This song hit me the first time I heard it in gw2.. actually made me see the vistas in the grove to the end
Love this game, so glad to play it again after getting a desktop instead of a laptop and love the Sylvari and everything they represent. Brilliant music! :D
you mean how they're servants of mordremoth? yeah, damn salads.
:P
lyonra I think that's kinda cool though, I personally would rather be descendants of some dragon then descendants of some civilization that got smushed by their own stupidity! *cough cough* Orr! ... XD“
But I shouldn't say that because as the Sylvari saying goes, 'All things have a right to grow; the blossom is the brother to the weed”.
joke's on you. My character is descendant of a very powerful Ritualist from Cantha :P
The saying above still applies ...
1603JazzyBee what a nice saying :)
You hear the song with lyrics when you complete the story mode in the level 80 dungeon Arah. It's instrumental form is heard in the Sylvari vistas.
gw2's atmosphere is so spot on!
Its played at the end of the game as well while in the last phase of the personal story, as well as small areas around the game namely in the sylvari area.
omg this is beautiful never played the series though...this music with malukahs voice would be perfect!
I've heard it at most of the Vistas in the Grove and other vistas near that area.
Someone should make a 10 hour version of this. It would make studying for midterms much more enjoyable :)

gw is a fucking good game ...especially gw1.. gw1 was all about feeling the game and record the history of it.. you are really right
Thank god. That assuages my horror somewhat. Thanks for clarifying!
Thank you for correcting my spelling. :)
I love you! I hope you have a merry day and that light infuses with your being and become a shining beacon for everyone.
One of the final cutscenes in the main personal storyline. You'll know it bc the scene is pretty epic feeling.
not quite what i meant but that version is AMAZING what brought me here!
it's plays at the source of orr mission when you have to protect the marshal and at the after party after you kill zhaithan thats where ive heard it
Let the music carry us on the wings of the fantasy...
you made me cry :(
i love this
It also plays after you beat the main storyline, in the final instance.
Somehow all my higher level characters have all been sylvari... Who knows what's up with that.
You predicted Heart of Thorns :v
I'm not aware of any other songs accompanied by lyrics. Just this one, which is probably the quintessential piece of music for Guild Wars 2
awesome song...
FRIGGING AWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to use this to go to sleep thank you
awesome song
I see. The in-game music of GW2 sways the emotions, so I suppose I can agree to that point.
Why can't I hold all these feels? ;~;
Hey, if you really want to hear the full version, finish the story mission "Victory or Death" and just wait in the last instance. For the record, its the last one.
You got lucky. My cat listened to this and turned into a Charr. Now it's on the other side of the room sharpening an axe and insulting me.
And the vistas in The Grove. Also at the end of the quest where you cleanse orr
You are a legend.
It plays when you see a vista in The Grove and after you finish Arah story mode.
You're studying to this as well! Me too!
Absolutely, the themes for morrowind and oblivion are fantastic, then skyrim is a mixture of them both. This song also sounds like an elder scrolls them lol :P
Remember Ascalon. Never forget, never forgive.
All hail Jeremy Soule! :)

Masterpiece! Can't wait for august 28 :D
best soundtrack of all mmos :)
You can find the version with the lyrics by searching for "Fear not this Night ft Asja"
I'm hyped about the 25th! 3 Day head start!
JEREMY SOULE IS A GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing music :)
Awsome i love GW2
Just NICE, like the whole game!!! *=*
Give us a link to that track in Skyrim!
Anyone know from where could I download this song w/o vocals for my cellphone?
Is this oficial extended version or some fan made it longer?
Good question
Just go to the Sylvari main city (The Grove) and enjoy the beauty :)
the vocal one with asja is the best imo
Awesome!
its also played at the end of the story line
oohhh.... that's a close one. I'd have to put them on even tiers. The highest tier, that is.
It plays when you finish the personal story.
what other GW2 music is also accompanied by lyrics?
anywhere I can download this...?
you here it in the mother tree's area and you here it when Terhern (yes I spelled that really wrong lol) is clearing teh poison out of Orr.... you also here pieces of it in teh vistas inthe grove

Where does this music appear in the game??
And in Polish 'Kompozytor' ;p
(Though i don't really mix them together, at least I don't remember doing that).
This should play near the graves of the GW1 characters...
then i guess I have no haert.. although I love this song, i just dont cry that much..
It aslo happens in the final mission before zhaitain.
thisis not the full song of Fear not this night this is just the into to one of the trailer for game con in 2010 or 2011.

Greetings from Romania: compozitor :)
I love u man!!
when u finish the personal story, I dont want to spoil, but u hear it at fort trinity and the very very end...
Jeremy Soule
And KOTOR (Knight's Of The Old Republic) games too, I think.
World is saying hello to Germany. Check any english dictionary to see, theres no such a word like "componist -_- Only "composer". Do you thing, every word belongs from German language? Really? Nope sorry.
Backing to music. Really breathtaking composition, that I can nearly listen this again and again.
