yes, i feel like i so rarely see the thrifts where people walk away with nothing. trying to reprogram my brain to accept that it’s ok to do that when filming a video. hoping my new lil series helps me accomplish that!

Sometimes I have to remind myself that it’s not about buying anything and just feeling fulfilled by that but finding something I really want/need/will use.
Enjoyed going through the Habitat Stores, just never think about going there but there were definitely some good items. Thanks for the inspiration & reminder to check that out. You do a wonderful job filming, giving ideas on styling what is available there & to me, that is entertaining whether you purchase something or not.💗

Great video! I also find it really annoying that the changing rooms are still closed. My hack is to wear fitting leggings and a tank that you can try clothes over. You just need to find a mirror (which can be tricky at the busier thrigt stores) and abandon self-consciousness (ahhhh). It's not an ideal solution but it has allowed me not to waste money on buying things that don't fit.

I have been thrifting & buying vintage for about 15 years, although I don't go anywhere near as much now due to my schedule. But what I have noticed over the years is that as fast fashion and online shopping have skyrocketed, thrift stores now are so full of cheap rubbish that the original purchaser wore a couple of times and then donated. As the majority of clothes people are buying have become lower quality garments, most of what ends up in a thrift store is low quality too, making it much harder to find anything worth buying. I also think that when I was thrifting & buying vintage the most in my late teens to my mid-20s, I was more willing to take a chance on what I bought, thinking I could make it work. Now my style is more refined and I'm much more likely to see something I think is cool or interesting and pass it up because I don't like the material it's made out of, or I know the fit isn't quite right and I'm more honest with myself about it. I'm also far more considered about everything I buy now because I feel like I need to take responsibility for the things when I buy them, and I don't want to own things I don't really love. 100% agree that people who are going thrifting and buying 20 items are doing it for the content and will donate back most of that. They are also probably younger and more willing to take a chance as they are figuring out their style, and sure, buying loads of second hand stuff is better than buying it all new because you're not producing anywhere near as much waste, but it doesn't address the problematic behaviours that are driving the way people consume. I would be happy to see more content where you don't find anything because that's normal for me these days when I go into thrifts stores too.

@@TashaLeelyn I recently moved to a new area and I'm trying to adapt to the thrift landscape here, it can be a struggle to get back into the swing of things! I can't imagine trying to thrift where you are without the dressing rooms, it would drive me to new stores with dressing rooms.
