Although he died too young he was never under rated. A highly versatile performer with many modes and also a decent actor despite a continuous battle with his health.
This, along with "Mack the Knife" came from Darin's breakthrough pop album, That's All. The orchestra was arranged and conducted by Richard Wess and included 32 year old Doc Severinsen in the trumpet section. That awesome drum break was jazz great, Don Lamond.

I LOVE YOU FOR ALL ETERNITY MARY BURKE HONEY, PLEASE DON'T EVER LEAVE ME HONEY, YOU KNOW MY LOVE IS INNOCENT AND HONEST, AND MY LOVE, IT IS DIRECTED, DIRECTLY AT YOU !!! Love the key changes. Depends what key you play it in but we played it in G major. Starts in G major. Then to B major. Then to D major and then modulates all the way home back to G major. Repeat to the end where it finishes in G major. Innovative writing for the time by Charles Trenet. French origin, "La Mer" meaning The Sea. Translated by Jack Lawrence.
It was not uncommon in the early days of open heart surgery (maybe even now) for patients to suffer some brain damage. Darin exhibited what his family thought was dementia but likely the result of the surgery. That might explain why he subsequently failed to take antibiotics before a dental procedure. Bacteria entered his bloodstream, went to his heart valves...He died in the recovery room shortly after his second open heart surgery, never regaining consciousness. 💜

Super Star! Left Us Way Too Early!
Yess.he left us way too soon.he was so dynamic,!!!
i even remembered the words! learned by listening to Radio Luxembourg. those were the days .......
I listened to radio Luxembourg when I was stationed in Germany 73-76. Even visited the city on a day trip. Saw Patton's grave marker too.
Classic tune that is still great, even to this day. Plus, it features one of the best bridges of any song ever, regardless of genre. RIP Bobby.
A lot of memories❤❤❤❤

Kevin Spacey did a great job in this movie!!!
Finding nemo at it's finest
My special needs son first heard this song in that movie 🎥🎬📺💿📽🎞 and still thinks of it whenever he hears this song.
Who are the horn boys?
Heavy heavy drumming' how'd he get the gig?
I can’t believe a song so great only has 46 comments
charles trenet ?
Yes he wrote the melody La Mer. I consider him to be the equivalent of Cole Porter in France.
Terrific song by a super talent. Strange how he died.
I think you are right about he left US to soon
Dinner in prison was the best. Just ask Henry, Paulie, Freddy and Vinnie 👍
