ElHefe He sanded a hour could have worked at mcdonalds for a hour earned enough money to buy a new car and even bought a happy meal with the leftover money
He typically does not. He seems to use screws after he taps the drilled holes. Technically the cars are not riveted as far as I can tell, but use peened pins. So I am kinda curious how you "restore" the rivets
This is insanely good. You have inspired me to create my own series about restoring hot wheels too :) Keep up the good work man I seriously love this stuff.
Think of all the Hot Wheels that were smashed or just left outside , I used to send a lot of Matchbox cars to someone I met on Ebay and he would restore them for me like you did here . they are every bit as nice to original to me . nice video and good description . Ray in Pa.
It's like watching Jay Leno garage but with Hot Wheels, your like the West Coast Customs for Hot Wheels -awesome job and insanely satisfying watching the process
im 62, I was 12 when the 1968 Hot Wheels hit shelves. Im revisiting my childhood. Thanks gang . I didnt know people restored them until recently, neat.
Great work. It is fun to know someone is bothering to save them. My best friends Father was as an exec at BBD&O, a huge ad firm, and he had a set of these well before most everybody else. It was a phenomenon. We were big on Matchbox and Corgi cars already.
Thanks for sharing,I never realized they sold parts for them. I just recently dug out all my old cars from my childhood and my daughter absolutely loves to play with them. But I pulled the oldest and special ones aside and I'd love to give it a go.Also she loves to work on stuff so chances are she'll have fun with it too.
This inspires me to get some old Hot Wheels and restore them. I used to have many Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars from the early 70s up into the 80s. Hot Wheels were my favorite but Matchbox had some neat ones in their own right. They did a lot of cars that Hot Wheels didn't really have, like old Ford Police cruisers and such. I have so many irons in the fire now that I don't know when I'll find the time to restore some but I'm gonna make time! Thanks for sharing
I know it's not correct, but I enjoy the paint finish on this car much more than the more expensive spectra paints. It really turned out beautiful. Well done!
Awesome job! The only issue I have is that the Python has a flat black roof (except a few rare examples) so it would be nice to see that done too. Keep up the good work!
Holy moly, these videos are like heroin on my brain... I haven’t slept in two days because of this guy. I love his guy’s sense of detail and dedication. 10/10 like a boss.
I actually liked the chrome look with no paint on it ! You did such a good job polishing it, I think you should have let like that. It's amazing to get a chrome look like that, from the junker that it was.
I found a 1968 python that was green that someone had bronze dipped in attempt to preserve the car. Instead the wheels fell off and the metal had oxidized. Not sure it can be restored.
Wow! Very cool👍you know believe it or not! That's one of my favorite cars from the sweet 16 collection! I know it's probably the cheapest, but to me I love the way it looks on stance😃👌good job👍
Love the restoration, thanks a lot for sharing! I've never gotten sick from a video before, but that paper towel deal at the beginning made my stomach spin a bit haha. Thanks again!
This was the most interesting video i have ever seen. Thank all that is good and holy that I used these 4 minutes and 28 seconds of my life that I am never getting back to see it
Cool. I had a Python and a Silhouette when I was a kid. I can't remember the colour of the Python, but the Silhouette I had had a lustrous, pearlescent purple finish with tiny little flecks in the paint. Funny how modern paint technologies let you give old Hot Wheels cars a better finish than they would have had when they originally came from the factory. It's a little like the way digitization of old photographs makes them look newer, brighter and sharper than they really were.
Back in the'60's I had just about every hot wheels and matchbox cars you could get . These little videos are interesting. Oh, I'm a professional auto detail technician by trade🙂
They say you can polish a terd and it's still.....They need to see this. Literally took a junk yard Hot Wheels and made a beautiful show piece. You do real nice work. I used to air brush model cars 1/24th scale. My air brush kit was stolen unfortunately. Spray paint just doesnt match the quality. Although air brushing can be tricky depending on the paint, coats, etc. I wish you'd do a video on airbrushing. I'm at the most an inexperienced novice. So any tips would help. Thanks and nice job. Love the videos.
Love seeing people that restore old things rather than thrwoing them out. I find this really interesting seeing stuff in it's original glory :D Great video Dude, I subscribed :D
Great video and very interesting. I'd love to see a video of your collection of restored models. Or of the baremetals or copper ones,,,,,, or any you wish to show. Thank you.
Wow, I had no idea that Hot Wheels restoration was actually a thing! Good thing I still have all my old Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars from a kid! (Well, at least the ones that didn't get lost while I was playing with them lol).
This was my first Hot Wheels car. Got it in 1969 only ever got 2 of them when I was a kid the Python and a Spitting Image because I was getting bigger and I was getting into other things like bush walking and camping around the same time. These Red Line cars and Dragster high rise bikes that came out here around the same time were the first metallic painted things I remember other than cars in Hot Rod magazines. Still have the 2 Hot Wheels cars and some other Red Line cars I've found over the years. I keep them in an origin Hot Wheels case that looks like a mag wheel.
Nice work, this was the most popular Hot Wheel , I have one that they forgot to rivet the back in of the car making it look high rise hotrod, wish I never took it out of the package. I remember the hot wheel tin badge to.
I smashed all mine up when I was younger, and I'm still getting them from garage and thrift sales for pennies, and smashing them up today. The fact that these cars have any value is thanks to people like me who liquidate a fair chunk of the production making the remaining ones rarer.
It's too bad my favorite thing to do with my Hot Wheels was to take them around the side of the house where my mom couldn't see me, soak them in lighter fluid, crash them together and then light them on fire! I recognize quite a few of the ones you're restoring. 🚒🔥🚒🔥🚒🔥
Got a blue one, first Hot Wheels ever, Christmas 1968, along with a purple Siamese Slingshot. Well-loved, missing the engine, wouldn't give it up for anything.. Good memories. 1
Makes me happy that someone is restoring old Hot Wheels cars and posting videos about the process. Love it :)
+Lazy Game Reviews You were the last person I was expecting here! Haha
+Lazy Game Reviews I guess you're both well-versed in restoring Hot Wheels products!
+Lazy Game Reviews Didnt expect to see you here! xD
Lazy Game Reviews your not who I expected to see here!
PoolFullOfFools I said the same thing!
Its like "Pimp my Ride" for veeeeeery tiny people.
ElHefe shrimp my ride
ElHefe what is this? A car for ants!!! That car should be at least three times bigger!
ElHefe He sanded a hour could have worked at mcdonalds for a hour earned enough money to buy a new car and even bought a happy meal with the leftover money
Lil Bitssssssssss
I loved watching pimp my ride. My favorite show of the 2000's. Used to watch after coming home from school every day.
please record when you're sanding and polishing it, but just fast forward it. there's something about it, that'a satisfying.
will do..
baremetalHW thanks alot 🖒🖒🖒🖒
baremetalHW Best reaction ever!
baremetalHW question how do you rivet the cars back together?
He typically does not. He seems to use screws after he taps the drilled holes. Technically the cars are not riveted as far as I can tell, but use peened pins. So I am kinda curious how you "restore" the rivets
I'm 40 and I STILL don't know what I wanna be when I grow up,

TVindustries5000 same bro
Yes, very intesting.
I am not a hot wheels person, but there is something so satisfying about restoring something to its former glory.
I LOVE the the red paint on this one. Such a nice shade.
This is insanely good. You have inspired me to create my own series about restoring hot wheels too :) Keep up the good work man I seriously love this stuff.
+Boost I subed... look forward to seeing it!! thanks for watching!!
I've been restoring real cars for 35 years. This is very relaxing and entertaining.
i never knew there guys out there restoring old hot wheels thank you for keeping them looking beautiful!
It's been 45 years, and the very moment you showed the car I said out loud, "that's a Python".
I had no idea people restored these things
MikeHawke83 same
me too..
if it exists, people restore it, a while back i stumbled upon videos of people hunting down old Nike Jordans and restoring them
MikeHawke83 same
Nearly impossible to believe - except I watched you do it. IMPRESSIVE. You have some very special talents.
Thanks for sharing...
Went back and watched this gem. Extremely wretched before. Extremely gleaming after. Excellent.
Think of all the Hot Wheels that were smashed or just left outside , I used to send a lot of Matchbox cars to someone I met on Ebay and he would restore them for me like you did here . they are every bit as nice to original to me . nice video and good description . Ray in Pa.
Beauty!... Making old things new is just as much an art as it is a science... and you've got it down pat!
Have watched others producing videos of the same subject and processes, your product is far superior and much more entertaining and informative.
It's like watching Jay Leno garage but with Hot Wheels, your like the West Coast Customs for Hot Wheels -awesome job and insanely satisfying watching the process
High praise... thank you!
I love random recommendations. Great video and subscribed!
im 62, I was 12 when the 1968 Hot Wheels hit shelves. Im revisiting my childhood. Thanks gang . I didnt know people restored them until recently, neat.
It’s just looking amazing, love the final result. Thank you for sharing your amazing story. God bless you and your family
Great work. It is fun to know someone is bothering to save them. My best friends Father was as an exec at BBD&O, a huge ad firm, and he had a set of these well before most everybody else. It was a phenomenon. We were big on Matchbox and Corgi cars already.

Beautiful job! I couldn't believe how polished you got it, wow!
Can we see your collection of REDLINE cars? Please!
Very beautiful result, thank you for sharing your journey. God bless you and your family
Gorgeous work. So much of what you do and the tools you use are like my jewelry repair I do.
This inspires me to get some old Hot Wheels and restore them. I used to have many Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars from the early 70s up into the 80s. These videos do my heart well. Bringing back lost beauty.
I haven't looked at a hot wheels car in years, and I've watched five of your videos. Why is this so interesting?
Love going back and watching old videos seeing the old technices
Wish you would do a side-by-side of the before and after at the end.
That is pretty cool, What a difference from the way it looked when you found it.
I know it's not correct, but I enjoy the paint finish on this car much more than the more expensive spectra paints. It really turned out beautiful. Well done!
Looks so great when you are done!
What a transformation good to see an oldie with a new lease of life and looking top dollar well done, chris (uk)
Awesome job! The only issue I have is that the Python has a flat black roof (except a few rare examples) so it would be nice to see that done too. Keep up the good work!
Iv watched a few of your Redline Restoration videos ...Great work man beautiful turn out on the cars
I will say that this is your best restoration HW I've seen so far. Excellent work!
Holy moly, these videos are like heroin on my brain... I haven’t slept in two days because of this guy. I love his guy’s sense of detail and dedication. 10/10 like a boss.
Love your painting technique
I actually liked the chrome look with no paint on it ! You did such a good job polishing it, I think you should have let
like that. It's amazing to get a chrome look like that, from the junker that it was.
I think that is one of my favorites that you have done. I did miss seeing some action shots but that’s ok too.
I had this same car from a Hot Wheels set I got for Christmas in in 1969. Mine was blue with a black top.
Nice!! Back when they made real quality!!
baremetalHW yea it is. they made great red lines back then. now it's just weird fake looking red linesn
That came out really nice. Should dig around and see if I can't find those old Hot Wheels I got laying around.
That restoration came out crazy nice, good job
Love the restoration, thanks a lot for sharing! I've never gotten sick from a video before, but that paper towel deal at the beginning made my stomach spin a bit haha. Thanks again!

You do the best restorations and in my oppinion you have the best vidios for me to get my "hot wheels fix"
Enjoying your videos!! Great paint and restoration on this one!!
Best paintjob you have ever done by me
That is an incredible paintjob!
Back in the'60's I had just about every hot wheels and matchbox cars you could get . These little videos are interesting.

Asymmetrical designs are much better than people expected
I've been watching these videos now for about 45 mins. subbing!
I truly enjoy your videos!!!....thank you....makes me want to find trashed Hot Wheels and restore them myself!!
Splendid restoration! Hats off!
Is this a giant working on a regular human car?
Yes
Diego1060 it’s actually a midget jerking off a giant who happens to be repairing a midget car .
@@noveske.2236 You ruined it.
Felix no I was just filming. Www.midgetJerkCarRepairMan.com
So you were sitting on his lap? Hmmmm....
This one looks better than new. Poor man's spectra flame paint actually works pretty well.
Exellent job, a really nice finished project !
I DID NOT LNOW THAT PEOPLE DID THIS, something great has just opened up to me.
You got mad skills bro. Love your work.
I really enjoy your video's. Thanks for showing them and giving us tips.
I had paid a dollar for a matchbox 6 wheel Euclid dump truck, after sanding it down and painting it lime green it turned out really great.
That car turned out beautiful better than new
Great video and very interesting.
(Well, at least the ones that didn't get lost while I was playing with them lol).
that custom came out really nice
When you don’t have enough money to revamp a real car. Perfect for me
That's a hell of a transformation.
This was my first Hot Wheels car.
Got it in 1969 only ever got 2 of them when I was a kid the Python and a Spitting Image because I was getting bigger and I was getting into other things like bush walking and camping around the same time.

Amazing restoration love the colour well done 👍.
I really wish I kept the 500+ cars I had as I would love to do this now that I am older.
keep it going buddy, age is just a number. Everyone is a kid even when they're older or not.
I smashed all mine up when I was younger, and I'm still getting them from garage and thrift sales for pennies, and smashing them up today. The fact that these cars have any value is thanks to people like me who liquidate a fair chunk of the production making the remaining ones rarer.
Wonderful paint job
damn I used to collect and play with these as a kid. random recommendation but not a bad one. good vid man
This was my first Hot Wheels car back in 1969.
I still have it, I should restored it.
very nice paintjob :o
It's too bad my favorite thing to do with my Hot Wheels was to take them around the side of the house where my mom couldn't see me, soak them in lighter fluid, crash them together and then light them on fire! I recognize quite a few of the ones you're restoring. 🚒🔥🚒🔥🚒🔥
I am loving your videos, thanks for posting.
I saw a 50 anniversary edition of a muscle car today it looked pretty dope
Best resto I've seen . 👍🏻
I really like that color, I have that",Red Baron red" and black top version in my collection..about a 6 on a 1-10.
This is neat! I didn't know that people restored Hot Wheels cars. I'm subscribing.
Got a blue one, first Hot Wheels ever, Christmas 1968, along with a purple Siamese Slingshot. Well-loved, missing the engine, wouldn't give it up for anything.. Good memories.
