Although I personally don’t compete in archery, watching your videos like this are very entertaining still and I learn a lot, it gets me thinking about getting started.
Thank you for pointing out it works for right or left! Every review I've seen for the Mathews/Shrewd v bar mount didn't say anything about left hand use. I think most archers are predominantly right hand and when people review products people fail to recognize there is a left hand community in archery! Thank you very much!
I just purchased a v bar and stabilizer set up and was wondering the best way to get everything dialed in. Couldn’t find any good videos, it’s like you read my mind on this one. Lol great video man. Keep up the good work!
New archer living in Northern Thailand. Not much English language coaching available. Your videos have help immensely. This one, about playing around with the placement of the stabilizer has tightened my groups almost a full inch!, Now I'm tearing off vanes! Thanks for all the lessons!
Just bought the Shrewd V-mount from Lancaster along with a 12” and 9” stabilizer bars for my Mathews V3, so I needed this, really helped me understand good process and do my setup, thanks! 👍
I learnt a lot about my real form going to a Bow Hunter setup with just a 12" front stab. Showed up all sorts of torque issues that I have improved on a lot. Worth stripping a bow back and go back to basics, then build back up.
Personaly i would use a trainer with levels and laser pointer. Since it has no stabs on it, you will see any even slightest torque you create with your hand.
I was just messing around with my shrewd raid stabilizer today. Found out I group best with 1 weight but am steadier with 2 but my bow feels too heavy to get on target quick. Going to try 1 weight this week since I’ve been shooting no weight for about 2 weeks. Overall really enjoying shrewd’s stabilizer!
I really need one of these I have an apex mount at the moment and it’s a tooth lock and I need that fine adjustment that the apex just doesn’t offer. Awesome video I’ll definitely be picking one up ASAP 🤘🏻
Hey Chris im a little confused I know your a great shooter saw you win that truck but if you have a stabilizer in front one in back are you defeating the purpose. I thought if the bow was forward heavy then you put behind so you balance the bow. If the bow is heavier in the back you put counter weight in the front. Put the least amount weight cause you don't want to over weight the bow. I have on my hunting bow a very short one but when you shoot the bow it vibrates to take away all vibration when you shoot. 2 different types of stabilizers. So please if you can explain why the front and the back I would appreciate it thankyou.
Stablizers help with pin drift at full draw when aiming at a target. The front stabilizer "Stablizes" Horizontal movement of the pin. (Bow wants to fall forward, so with no torque, the pin should move in a straighter line up and down as weight is added to the stab). The back stabilizer is meant to be adjusted to stabilize vertical movement of the pin. (The bow is balanced to not lean to the left or right, so you are able to hold the bow level without applying torque to the riser). Try taking all of your stabilizers off, nock an arrow, and aim at a 3" dot at 30 yards. Notice the pattern of your pins movement at full draw and if the bow is level or not, and the movement when you correct the bow to be level. Put a front stabilizer on, and notice the pattern of your pins movement at the same dot with the stabilizer on. You should have less left and right movement with the front stab, but equal or increased vertical movement as you try balance and level the bow as your floating on the target. Back bar and stabilizer helps with that, especially if you have a quiver full of heavy hunting arrows sitting on the opposite side. Its all preference and we should all practice without stabs to make sure our shooting fundamentals are sound and not covered up by the expensive, advanced gear
Looks like u got alot of weight on those stabs. How much does ur bow weigh with everything on it??? I was holding this one guys bow at my local range and his bow weighed a total of about 10 pounds. He was a big guy but could hold that bow rock solid.
Do you have any trouble shooting with your glasses on I’m trying to shoot with my glasses on so I can shoot better but I have problems with them getting in the way more then they help
Hey Chris so I went to the range today and there was someone shooting a prevail and his dampers on his limbs And it was tearing because of the Vibration and the owner was sitting out there and he said you don’t need them I have another question are your dampener’s on the limbs starting to tear
Dangit Chris!!!! Every vid I watch I got to spend money! I have been shooting better though with all the rad archery equipment though! Right on bro. Thanks!
YOU just wait Chris Bee! In another 5 years I'll have my bow. Then I'll train like "CrAzY MaDd", and come after you (in an archery competition) and I'll give no quarter Sir. SOOOooo if you are on the line and look over and see a 105 year old with a beard down to his knees, just know you asked for this because,......you inspired me! Ha, it's coming.😈
You should make a video about the targets you have used and ones you recommend for use
This is my first year of bow hunting I'm super excited!

Super cool stop motion at the beginning.
I have the shrewd on my vertix but it’s the Mathews version along with a 10” front and 8” back bar both flatlines in matching camo
That's pretty sweet Beeman !!! I might have to get me one of those. And great tips on set up. Thanks for sharing!
Great job Chris, you made it very easy to understand. Thanks.

This is the weirdest thing. I literally just got one of those units today in the mail and this video was at the top of my suggested videos tonight!
Does it actually include the quick disconnect piece? I don't see that it's included on Lancaster's site
Do you need to change your stabilizer setup for taking shots from a tree stand? (Aiming down)?
what you prefire for sidebar 12" vs 14" if front bar is 30"
You had a knife this time! Well done! Lol
Very informative, I like your style thanks for the vid
