Hopefully with the new company merging with Six Flags, they’ll start making improvements to the part. What also has to happen is the area around the park needing to be improved. The reason the rafts started flowing away was likely due to the operators E-Stopping the ride, which is done when people fall into the water, when a E-Stop happens it cuts power to the pumps which results in the water flowing back into a retention pond. And watching the video its easy to tell the raft was taking on water, however, the trough of those rides is so shallow even if a raft sinks it will just stick to the bottom and you can easily stay inside the raft and be secure. The passengers did not do that which resulted in them ending up in the water, which made one of the ride operators E-Stop the ride, which caused the water to start moving back towards the retention pond. If that kid had not been saved by the other person, that would have ended a lot worse. Long story short, stay inside ride vehicles unless an operator tells you to leave.
Exactly. That's why the rafts moved backward. They just float back toward retention or til they bottom out. Whole cause of the deal was the boat stuck in the middle from having a burst bladder. The boat has other bladders that kept it afloat. When more than 2 boats got stuck there, the weight of the pushing rafts against the stuck raft probably lifted it causing it to take on water. Ride should have been estopped the min the 3rd boat got hung up in there and an operator should have been there to calm the riders and explain that their boats would float backward etc etc
@@parker02311 Those are all facts that we know, and most importantly Six Flags know, but not the guests on the ride. They were in a situation that to an untrained eye seemed dangerous. My father and I went to over Texas. December 21st for my birthday 3 years ago. After about 4 hours of riding different roller coasters we went back to the giant and my dad got into that 11th seat. On the way up the lift hill the overhead seat belt had come off and locked in its up position. He said he felt that the belt itself could’ve ripped considering my father is a large man. The ride was shut down for the weekend after that. No charges were pressed for the incompetence of the crew.

They're not changing any staff or anything like that, just changing things like the front gate and minor things around the park. All of their problems are because they don't pay the staff enough
Spot on with it getting more ghetto. I've been a yearly pass holder with my family, but this year we are not renewing. The park is dirty, the staff are rude and don't give a crap (and have bad attitudes), along with the ride issues. Management is lacking on multiple fronts.
It's sad but very true. This whole area has been going downhill for years! But you dare not say anything in fear of being called racist. Sorry if the ugly truth hurts but facts are facts!
Im born and raised in swfl and am 38 years old, so i been to disney and busch gardens many many times for that time. Moved to longview texas 6 years ago and bought a season pass for SFOT and their water park... And the first thing i noticed was the overgrown landscaping, peeling paint, and exactly what you said ... It doesn't look like they care. The rides are great, I just miss that "opening day" look that disney and busch gardens provides
I am aging myself, but I used to live at SFOT all summer. The Roaring Rapids ride was one of my favorites because it gets so hot here. I had a season pass for YEARS. I remember when they shut that ride down for many years back in 1999 because one of the tubes deflated, and flipped over, and a lady died, and like 10 people were injured.
No one has mentioned this but ,about a month ago at six flags fiesta Texas my partner and I went on the poltergeist and the ride stopped in the 101° F weather. We were at the end of the ride behind the building so no one could see us and it was 4pm so barely anyone was there. But the whole vehicle body and everyone in it waited for an hour and a half in the heat. We obviously didn’t have our phones and no one could see us to record. A lot of the rides had moments of breaking down like this. I’m still going to go again though 😳
@iilikeitlikethatii He's right. Having worked there this year they hire too many 16 yos and then security is paid 13/hr but they'll schedule them from 8am to 1am. Also nobody gets benefits aside from the people who work in the office. They show how much they care about the people who run the park
I’ve been stuck on that exact water ride. They had to shut it down and everything! Those people were not following what the operators were telling them. Nobody is supposed to exit the ride. They literally float you back and then pull you up and give everyone a life jacket before stepping off.
The last time I went was 2005. The power faild and the whole park shut down! Nobody was offered a refund or rain check! The only thing we rode was the big train. Haven't been back since.
Six flags staff doesn't care about safety at all. I got on the batman ride once and the overhead bar wouldnt lock. Luckily on that ride there is a seatbelt buckle that functions as an emergency backup. Regaurdless, staff didnt check the bar at any point and even after I yelled to get their attention, they told me it was fine and sent the ride without letting me get off or fixing it. I was left with only the belt holding the bar closed and was sloshing around the whole ride because it wasnt secured correctly. This was after they had the death from very similar circumstances as well.
Yeah they just hire anybody who says there available. It's actually scary, all you have is a 30 minute "training" PowerPoint you watch before your sent out to rocket people through the air at 50 mph
I remember I was one of the first groups of people to ride the joker ride there, I had a fast pass or something and rode it over and over at least 10 times. The incident where the joker malfunctioned and stopped mid ride with people stuck hanging upside down at the top happened only a few days after I rode it. I’m only 16 right now, but even I felt like every time I went it got older and older, with more problems popping up or rides shutting down. I moved away from Arlington 4 or 5 years ago and haven’t been to six flags over Texas since then, but I have lots of memories from the theme park. It really is heartbreaking to see a place I obsessed over when I was younger turn out like this.
On the roaring rapids, the E-stop was hit. That’s why the water started draining away from the dock. The pumps are under the ramps up to the dock and to the right as you’re facing the dock. In this scenario, it’s likely protocol for the e-stop to be depressed and shut down the
Astroworld should have never closed. Too many firsts in the way of attractions in that park and should have been designated as a historical landmark or something.
5:05 you say "Roaring Rapids is a pretty safe ride". But isnt the last fatal accident at this Six Flags when one of the rafts flipped over causing people to drown?
It used to be so beautiful!!!! I remember when all the animations worked. When you were waiting in lines, it was like watching a show. And the runaway mountain the water worked. The music and Mr.freeze used to work too
I live 5 mins from Six Flags Over Texas, and I can def agree that its more like a carnival than a theme park now. I remember having so many good times with my friends in high school. It's just boring now.
Yeah I even checked ride accident and no video. Omg I remember astroWorld in Houston was getting ghetto and it went down hill. They ended up scraping the whole park.
Dang this is wild i used to do Batman Stunt Show there had to stop due to injuries from faulty equip ... Ive rode the roaring rapids since i was a kid and never a incident...
I was in line to ride the river rapids ride for my tenth birthday in 1999 when a bunch of people got hurt and a lady died. I was going to be next on the rafts that day. I remember it like it was yesterday the mr freeze had just opened the season before. They shut half of the park and kept the rest going. I also got stuck on the titan when it first opened up. Yet i still go to six flags regularly. This six flags over Texas...
Had the annual pass till they revoked all the perks for a more expensive pass. 6 flags is like if a gas station was somehow built in a lot with a bunch of Rollercoasters in it and they just ran with it.
We used to go several times a month with a membership. We stopped going at all a few years ago because it has got rundown and doesn't feel safe anymore.
In the first video, you failed to see that the buildup of rafts causes the one that is stuck to tilt and starts to fill with water.. the 2nd video isn't fake. He's not dangling. It's just a tall guys long legs. There was no incident. It's just a camera angle. This would have been on the news if he was dangling.
the problem with sfot is there are no record breaking full circuit coasters at sfot and everybody knows it.... they need to add at least 4 new full circuit record breaking coasters.... rollercoasters are the ONLY attraction to any amusement park..... coasters people.... COASTERS!!!! real long ones... no more cookie cutters.... 🙄
The last time I went, me and my cousins waited in line for 2 hours at the first ride. We promptly bought the overpriced fast passes and had a much more enjoyable time. I believe all the rides were open, including Mr. Freeze. We didn’t end up doing that or the Texas Giant because the fast pass line was insanely long as well, like I wanted to but overall a pretty fun day. I would like you to go again and do the rides we missed and maybe check out some of the new ones. I remember the Aquaman closed down but still don’t know what they replaced it with. I also wonder what happened to that 4D ride they had a loooong time ago. The never ending highway construction doesn’t help either.
were you talking about the justice league ride by the pandemonium? if so yes that ride got shut down for some reason but it was very nice to experience
Yeah, just don't eat anything when your there. With the way their kitchen is, I'm surprised we didn't have calls everyday this fright fest for food poisoning.
Great video. Bu i need to point something out. OT is a leased park and they are only putting money in what makes them money. Scream Break, Fright Fest and HITP. They have made improvements though before the 2028 buyout. Loony Toons Land with bringing back Blaster and an all new kids ride. Plus the addition of Dinos. We love the Dino adventure ride. But there is a big surprise in '25. But one thing i want to see is Pirates of Speelunker brought back to its opening weekend where everything works. Fog machines, lighting, broken Spees fixed, water features etc.....
On Roaring Rapids, the boat that was stuck also had a section of the raft that was deflated which played a part in the raft getting stuck in the first place. Only one section was deflated so the raft wouldn't have sank but you can see in the video the raft is very close to taking on water where the step is that the people start exiting from. Now take that into account... You're stuck and have been for quite some time, your boat is about to start taking on water and no one from the park has even addressed the situation or given you instructions on what to do. Of course people are going to panic.
Did you also stop to think that the current under there could pull you under and you could drown I heard of that happening also either way I guess you would be.🤬
Yeah, i worked at sixflags over texas, and the park honestly is really bad. They just dont hire qualified people, and when they do, they dont pay them anywhere near what they should be paid
I went to 6 flags this weekend. Haven't been in a lo g time and had a blast. Felt safe in all the rides. But, I do see what I mean about management. The workers demeanor tells alot about why the park is in decline. Hope they fix it soon.
Managers and leads are paid like 8 dollars an hour more than the people below them. Most days, we'll do the same thing they do, some people even work longer than the security with vests but raises do not exist. You have to pay outta pocket to get a level 2 license with the state of Texas and after about 2 to 4 months of that process you have to wait for a training class and then hope they schedule you for those days as a level 2 and not an Attendant. After all of that, almost all of the level 2 security just slacks in the employee areas every 45 minutes.
The safety inspectors in Texas for amusement parks is none other the very companies that provide the insurance to them. So tell me, which makes the most money for those insurance companies? A park still in operation collecting daily admission revenue or a closed down park that generates zero revenue and needs no liability insurance?
No way that happened on the Superman i live 12 miles from there and raised in arlington you wouldnt still be hanging that low the restrants are on your shoulders and that ride has a huge seat platform no way someone would be dangling under that seat base the restrainst arent even that long either
I want to start by saying the surrounding area of the tower is wrong because I've gone to this place most of my life... however if you won't take my word on that... The easiest way to tell this video is fake is the bridge at 7:03. It leads off to the right of the tower.... Towards what? I-30? That attraction, as well as the ones nearby are at the edge of the park. There is no more park that direction. Check out the direction you'd be headed and what you'd be headed towards with the shot from 0:56 seconds. You can clearly see the tower in the background and the highway "spaghetti" mess you'd be traveling towards.
@@demisam4487I heard several inter-tubes were leaking air on the raft in question resulting in the accident. It was a freak accident and safety features were added. Ramps were added as a safety measure.
The incident you're talking about was back in 1999, one person died, ten others injured. The restraints for the rafts were changed and are now simple seatbelts that can be easily detached in case of flipover. Which hasn't happened again since.
This park needs help its the first six flags park to open and its neglected. Hopefully the merge save this park its got good history but it has its travestys
And you are absolutely right Six Flags over Texas has become very ghetto. I’m sure somebody’s not gonna like that comment but I don’t care. It has become very carnival like the one that pops up at your local Walmart. There’s nothing really exciting about it. The fight video was real not AI… it’s been a think to meet up at six flags to fight since the 80’s and 90’s. It’s always been like that. Same with the Parks Mall.
Six flags fiesta Texas is fun however I will say i had a bad experience on the wonder women ride it was a bit intense because before it became the Wonder woman ride it was a water log ride and the way that the rides angles are a very sharp so when you go in for the turn or try and go for like a loop and spin you kind of jerk down or wherever the rights going at the moment and since you're going out of high speed it hurts and it doesn't help that the strapping is also kind of awkward so you're left with like rope marks and bad bruising but overall I will agree that the park is definitely aware of safety and overall a fun experience
Seems the care for QC has gone away, I’m starting to notice more greed at my home park Kennywood. They Just hired a new manger I hope he gets things right. He brought back 10pm close times which is cool. But man the lies they tell you are messed up.

@@JBThrillsthey are six flags has board members only at the top so should be from what was told to stock holders cedar fair is going to put what they learned from quality and theming and working on the six flags parks to bring them up to a certain standard so six flags parks according to there plan are going to get most of the investments which is so dope
@@JBThrills the park president right now sucks
I really hope that the merge helps over Texas cause the park would do wonder with cedar fair operations and better kept park
Great video. Thanks for posting this. Have a nice day.
Ryan the Ride Mechanic did a great video on the roaring rapids incident.
Six flags over Texas has been in the new alot. Also has cedar point been in the new alot of bunch of negative things. I just hope that the New Six flags corporate well start fixing everything and improving things over Texas has an potential to becoming high till park in the chain. Great video have a great day
They're not changing any staff or anything like that, just changing things like the front gate and minor things around the park.
They definitely have to improve
My experience at fright fest was great, staff were nice, rides looked good as new,I think it just depends on location
That must've been so scary
The Superman drop tower incident was fake. They released an actual announcement about it.
Pay increase on all employees...start pay at $15....hired more adult for security purposes..get rid of old managers...they don't care..
Did you even watch the video
@iilikeitlikethatii He's right. Having worked there this year they hire too many 16 yos and then security is paid 13/hr but they'll schedule them from 8am to 1am. Also nobody gets benefits aside from the people who work in the office. They show how much they care about the people who run the park
I visited SFOT in 2022 and had a great experience! Has it really slipped that much in 2 years?
Yup cause after 2022 the President that made the great experience got booted
It was Six Flags that was the problem. The new Six Flags under Cedar Fair will improve safety measures.
I’ve been stuck on that exact water ride. They had to shut it down and everything! Those people were not following what the operators were telling them. Nobody is supposed to exit the ride. They literally float you back and then pull you up and give everyone a life jacket before stepping off.
0:39 i wonder if a rider panicked and and somehow got himself out
What happened is some idiot decided to make a fake video. This never happened.
Fiesta Texas had a refresh a few years back, and it looks a lot better! And most of the rides got a face-lift.
The guy on tower of power was debunked .
Really, how?
I was at six flags a week ago or so and I was in line for aquaman but they shut down the ride because a panel came off
On the roaring rapids, the E-stop was hit. That’s why the water started draining away from the dock. The pumps are under the ramps up to the dock and to the right as you’re facing the dock. In this scenario, it’s likely protocol for the e-stop to be depressed and shut down the
I used to work at Six Flags Astroworld/Waterworld and thunder river was our river rapids ride it was safe and never had anything like that happen..
Thunder River was the first river rapids ride.
Astroworld should have never closed. Too many firsts in the way of attractions in that park and should have been designated as a historical landmark or something.
@@korwynias_yt XLR-8 was the first Arrow suspended coaster... that didn't tear itself apart.
Not only do you have seat belt and shoulder restraints. Riders have a bump in the seat that is straddled.
Yeah I even checked ride accident and no video. Omg I remember astroWorld in Houston was getting ghetto and it went down hill. They ended up scraping the whole park.
I would have enough adrenaline to climb back in to my seat in 3 secs bro just hanging 😂
yeah the superman looks fake, and the ppl on roaring rapids needa chill
The roaring rapids have had issues for years. I’m surprised it was open. It’s been closed the last few time I went.
Imagine panicking from literally chilling in a comfortable seat on a cool water ride💀💀💀💀💀🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Yea, this place was definitely poppin when I was a kid, but times sure have changed.
hopefully with the new merger sfot will have all updates and added new rides and shows and better staff and food.
the problem with sfot is there are no record breaking full circuit coasters at sfot and everybody knows it.... they need to add at least 4 new full circuit record breaking coasters.... rollercoasters are the ONLY attraction to any amusement park..... coasters people.... COASTERS!!!! real long ones... no more cookie cutters.... 🙄
Food isn’t as good anymore, can’t get a refill for 1$ anymore for previous season cups, and rides closed often.
I went to Texas six flags last year and rode on that same water ride, it was my favorite ride there besides the dc villain ride
Exactly. Some reassurance and explanation would have gone a long way here.
Did you also stop to think that the current under there could pull you under and you could drown I heard of that happening also either way I guess you would be.🤬
Cool video 🎉
Last time I went to fiesta Texas people got stuck on the Superman
Help this is the park I live by and go to often and now I’m scared
im going to six flags over texas in november and i rlly hope that they improve the park!!
we are going in 2 weeks and this video and its comments have lowered my excitement 😕
@@thr3LoadR same but i mean at least the second one was fake
Good luck!
@@biancaluedeker thanks!!
It's the workers..... nobody paying attention and on their phone all the time at that six flags.
I went to six Flags 2 months ago and I remember we got stuck at the top of the roller coaster for like 10 mins 😭😭
I grew up going to six flags. We'd go on roaring rapids and aquaman and then superman was our blowdrier. Good times! Haven't been in around a decade.
Still getting on👌🏼👌🏼
Same 🔥
Which park is this? Dallas/Ft. Worth or San Antonio??
Idk but that’s the one I always go to
I think San Antonio
@@Girlyvlogs20987 it’s the Dallas one
this video took off!!
Fr! I’m so glad it’s doing great!
We need to close all amusement parks immediately. People need to stay home and social distance anyway. It’s too scary outside.
That's why I stay with the kiddie rides
I just got season passes this year they need to give me my money back
i wish iowa's adventureland still had its raging rapids....RIP to the kid who passed from one flipping and trapping him underwater.
You sound like g eazy🤯
You say the rapids ride is a safe attraction, yet people have died on that ride at that park when the entire raft flipped over and people drowned.
Yes and statistically, that's still a safe ride.
Most of time it’s something the rider did
@@demisam4487I heard several inter-tubes were leaking air on the raft in question resulting in the accident. It was a freak accident and safety features were added. Ramps were added as a safety measure.
@@asphaltandtacos okay well glad they made it corrections
The incident you're talking about was back in 1999, one person died, ten others injured. The restraints for the rafts were changed and are now simple seatbelts that can be easily detached in case of flipover. Which hasn't happened again since.
Naw why am I just seeing this after coming back from both of them😭
Hopefully since my adopted home park has marge with the company of my home park Kings Island there will be massive improvements.
That’s just a average day at over Texas
This park needs help its the first six flags park to open and its neglected. Hopefully the merge save this park its got good history but it has its travestys
And you are absolutely right Six Flags over Texas has become very ghetto. I’m sure somebody’s not gonna like that comment but I don’t care. It has become very carnival like the one that pops up at your local Walmart. There’s nothing really exciting about it. The people aren’t nice the staff isn’t there really But it has become ghetto because of the people that lives in the area and that go to Six Flags over Texas. I haven’t been there in years. I live in Texas and it’s just bad now. It used to be fun but now it’s not.
The superman video seems like a guy is slipping off but it’s actually the angle the person recorded it .
The fight video was real not AI… it’s been a think to meet up at six flags to fight since the 80’s and 90’s. It’s always been like that. Same with the Parks Mall.
I went like a week ago and got stuck on the steel eel for like 10 to 30 minutes
If the superman ride thing was real then they made a nda agreement & payout immediately. But It probably was AI.
Omg 😲
Six flags fiesta Texas is fun however I will say i had a bad experience on the wonder women ride it was a bit intense because before it became the Wonder woman ride it was a water log ride and the way that the rides angles are a very sharp so when you go in for the turn or try and go for like a loop and spin you kind of jerk down or wherever the rights going at the moment and since you're going out of high speed it hurts and it doesn't help that the strapping is also kind of awkward so you're left with like rope marks and bad bruising but overall I will agree that the park is definitely aware of safety and overall a fun experience
i live here blud😭
The Superman clip was fake
Is this the Arlington six flags??
Wait nvm i thin theres only one six flags kn texas which is the Arlington one
The rafts on roaring rapids are the same color. That’s videos is not from SFOT
Seems the care for QC has gone away, I’m starting to notice more greed at my home park Kennywood. They Just hired a new manger I hope he gets things right. He brought back 10pm close times which is cool. But man the lies they tell you are messed up.
