I work at a supermarket, constantly surrounded with cookies and chocolate, but from my experience, family gatherings are 100 times worse than this. You failed at the most difficult challenge for a carnivore, and i do as well. But it doesnt take much to get back into ketosis, day or two.
100% Wave - you are having the right attitude towards going off the wagon. It's nothing, really - just a meal or two off plan. So long as you can get back on the horse the next day, no wucken forries 💫
Good attitude. When i make mistakes, i think of the fact that i've reduced my carb intake about 95%. I also stopped counting days, and its easier to live day to day. Your body has already started shifting to fat burning mode. Dont underestimate your results, 10 days straight without carbs is a huge thing.
Mistakes happen! Don't worry about it-get back on track. Let's keep pushing forward. Stage 3 kidney disease will not define our legacy. You've got this Wave! Just remember why you started this journey again.

Don't beat yourself up. It's pizza. Never feel bad about pizza. You can (and probably should) bend your personal rules for special occasions. Make sure that you check in frequently with medical professionals and a licensed nutritionist when you're considering an extreme diet plan. Not going to tell you what's right for you, but I would consider carnivore a temporary diet rather than a permanent lifestyle. It's going to help bring your weight down, which will reduce your blood pressure and should, in theory, improve kidney function. After that, I'd suggest that you take advantage of your newfound discipline and consider transitioning to the kind of balanced diet (legumes, whole grains, lean meat, fruit and veggies) that you had a difficult time with before. Your motivation is pure, and I think you'd have much better results the next time around if the professionals say it's the right move and you put your mind to it.
The issue with bending rules is you open a gate way. I watched this with my mother who got so close to quiting smoking only to be offered a cigerate and take it. Here we are years later right back at the start. Addictions are very difficult to moderate.
@@breakout8904 You're not wrong. However, there's a huge difference between cigarettes and carbohydrates. One is objectively harmful, and the other is our primary source of energy. @@wafflesaurus_supreme Carbs are not even a primary source of energy? They only give us glucose, which we naturally produce through Gluconeogenesis, leading to too much glucose.
I don't know who recommended this diet, but I would never try an unorthodox diet like this without talking to a medical expert first. Here are some health warnings about the risks of the carnivore diet, from Howard E. LeWine, MD. What are the risks of a carnivore diet? The disadvantage of all keto diets is they tend to raise LDL cholesterol levels in both the short and long term. Other longer-term concerns about keto diets, especially the carnivore diet, include the increased risk of kidney stones, gout, and osteoporosis. Also, the very high protein intake associated with the carnivore diet can lead to impaired kidney function. While some keto diets can emphasize the intake of healthier mono- and polyunsaturated fats, that's not the case with carnivore diets. Animal fat is mostly saturated fat, which is the unhealthiest type of fat because it raises levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol.
They've got you right where they want you... Bahhh... You've been brainwashed. Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Eric Westman, Dr. Ken Berry and many, many others have tons of experience, over many years, in this area. There are many, many thousands of cases where so many health issues have been resolved by Carnivore. Including vegans who have gone carnivore, and all of a sudden, all their health issues go away. Follow them and they will debunk all your misperceptions with facts and research. Read their comments of thousands of people who have reversed many of their health issues on Carnivore. Why are you even here? The title of the video is "Carnivore".
Fully agreed. Prolonged Proteine diet (must never exceed 6 months) is always including vegetables and fruiits, which otherwise results in lacking dietary fibres resulting in digestive issues. Aso red meat is always to be excluded and replaced by white meat and fish, otherwise increasing risks of type 2 diabete and colorectal cancer. Moreover, the quick loss of weight resulting from such carnivore diet is deceptive in the long term, since it is mostly resulting from diuretic effect (loss of water) and muscle wasting resulting from augmented glycogen consumption. The fact is such a regime only slightly dicreases the level of body fat. In Europe, the medical establishement has issued strong warnings against this type of diet. NOTHING can replace a strict regulation of a daily balanced diet and increaseed physical activity.
Bunch of rubbish. Animal fat is the healthiest fat. High cholestorol is not associated with vascular problems. Get your facts straight before you start giving advice.

I believed this last year when I ended up in the hospital with stage 4 kidney disease. But I’ve seen several people completely reverse CKD using a carnivore diet. Alongside several other blood marker improvements. I believe results. And my own CKD has not improved on a high vegetable diet. And there is no real evidence that LDL makes that much of a difference. I really appreciate the concern, but I’ve done my research and get all my guidance from doctors.
Every diet out there has its adherents who will give glowing testimonials of their success stories. But if you want to find out what a diet actually does, you need to know about all the people who try the diet, the failures as well as the successes. If you only listen to the success stories, you will have a biased sample of cases. That is why anecdotes are not accepted as scientific evidence. If you really want to compare the effectiveness of diets, you must have separate groups of people following the different diets, then compare the health outcomes of everyone. You cannot select only the people have success. You also have to account for counfounding factors such as age, exercise, illnesses, maybe even race and income. When other factors have been ruled out, then you can say that you have evidence of the effect of the diet.
@@wavepotterwellness It's true that everyone is different, but some things affect everyone the same way. Experimentation within the bounds of safety is fine. But anything that has a risk of permanent organ damage, for example, should be approached with extreme caution.
OK Wave. Think about this. You have learned so much from Sensei YOYOKA. If you remember, and I know you do, before YOYOKA showed one of her outtakes where she made a mistake, you were always worried about editing your videos to have them perfect. Then you realized how much time you wasted doing this when no one cared, and decided, if you make a mistake, just say "Oh, well" and keep the camera rolling. As a result, you have grown so much from that little lesson she taught you. If you drop a stick in the middle of a performance do you say oh well, I can't finish this song, I messed up, or do you pick up another stick, like Sensei YOYOKA, and just power through. A year from now, this will be such a small blip you won't even have noticed it. You have to tell your family and friends that you are Carnivore and then stick to it during social events. Eventually they will get it.
