When I was a kid in the back seat on a long holiday trip.. Boy does this take me back to my childhood, We lived in Europe when I was young. I would fall asleep in the back of our VW Squareback listening to the rain and wipers, which were much louder in the early 70s. We travelled from Spain, to Germany, through Switzerland, Italy, and we hit dozens of spots on mainland Great Britain.
Before I knew vids like this existed, years ago I made a rain vid myself using a weather cheat code in gta: san andreas with heavy rain, the brightness dimmed, and talk radio lightly playing in the background. I still have it to this day.
Yep, and when I was in 8th grade, I rode the city bus to school, and it would rain quite often in the spring. I felt like grabbing a blanket and going back to sleep right there on the bus.

I’m watching this, while playing “For the good times” Al Green in the background. It takes me back to my childhood in the 80s. I used to love to fall asleep in the car. It was the best sleep. Then when we made it home, it felt like I’d slept for an eternity.
I lived in San Antonio for 10 years and drove that road many times. I'm shocked you didn't pass any wrecks, since driving in rain in San Antonio is as deadly as driving in an ice storm anywhere else! Good job,
This last year I spent a lot of time driving long distances just to get out of my comfort zone. One thing I learned and still amazes me is how much distance you can cover in a day. For some reason travelling always seemed like this HUGE deal to me. full of anxiety. never comfortable, to the point I couldn't really eat on the road. But after 2 or 3 trips I felt better and better. Now I absolutely love just waking up super early, drive 6 hours and camp out for the weekend. I've been all over my state now and have seen so much more in one year than I did in almost a decade. Get out and do something while you can folks. In a few hundred miles a LOT can change.
I have intense fear of highways , yall people are brave driving these roads and in rain mind you. Thank you for doing this video i hope that you always drive safely and God bless you for giving people less anxiety and better sleep, wonderful person
It hasn't rained like this here where I live in a while, and this video made me much more comfortable to sleep. I appreciate it, thanks and hugs from Brazil!
I've watched this the last few nights, so I haven't been awake for the whole ride... BUT every exit is an exit I have driven through! Seriously! I have taken this route a few times in my life, and now I'm several states away... so even when I wake up, it is pure nostalgia for me. Yes, it has helped me sleep, but I'm enjoying every second of the drive too. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart ❤

That was some good sleep, riding in the bottom bunk during a rain event .
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it loraine.
Lmao
Boy does this take me back to my childhood,
We lived in Europe when I was young. I would fall asleep in the back of our VW Squareback listening to the rain and wipers, which were much louder in the early 70s. We travelled from Spain, to Germany, through Switzerland, Italy, and we hit dozens of spots on mainland Great Britain.
@@thephantomeagle2 Thanks for sharing your experiences 🙏 I really appreciate it.
Before I knew vids like this existed, years ago I made a rain vid myself using a weather cheat code in gta: san andreas with heavy rain, the brightness dimmed, and talk radio lightly playing in the background. I still have it to this day.
Nice, the rain in games like gta, cyberpunk, and Red Dead are fantastic.
Ever thought Of posting it ?😮
Post it 😊
I always loved those early mornings riding the school bus years ago in the rain hearing the whipers go back and forward rocking me to sleep
Yep, and when I was in 8th grade, I rode the city bus to school, and it would rain quite often in the spring. I felt like grabbing a blanket and going back to sleep right there on the bus.
Just what I needed. Thank you.
شكرا للك على هذا الفديو الرائع هنا في العراق نعاني من الجفاف لانها لم تمطر ابدا في الشتاء الماضي يارب هذه السنة تمطر علينا وتتغير الاحوال ونتخلص من العواصف الترابية

Hats off to the driver .....that was a long drive! 👏
Thank you, my friend.
I don't think he actually drove for eight hours straight LOL. There has to be a loop cut in there somewhere?

This drive could be anywhere in the world and it starts out in my hometown, San Antonio! lol So random but awesome!
Hi Rob, small world. Let me know if there are any good spots to drive in the rain.
Yeah, i was really tripped out when i saw this, i go over there all the time
I used to drive between San Antonio and Dallas almost weekly for work/family. I don’t know what it is about Texas, but driving through it was always so peaceful.
Yes, it is, appreciate the comment.
For those of you who read this, I just wanted to let you know that everything will be fine, whether it's sleeping or relaxing from stress. If you're going through a hard time now, it's a temporary thing, and it's okay to remind you that there are many good and comfortable days ahead. If you are going to sleep, I hope you have the most beautiful dreams and the most peaceful sleep. You are such an amazing person and the world is lucky to have someone like you. I wish you all the best, love and strength. Good night

Yes, seeing the day go by gives me anxiety, especially on a Sunday, knowing I gotta go to work the next day 😭
Thank you for driving this much for our relaxation.. I really enjoyed this. I have been able to sleep a lot better, I have had a lot of trauma recently so thank you.
My pleasure, hope you feel better.

I like to listen to these kinds of videos and imagine I'm in a private sleeper train cabin, falling asleep in the little bed while the rain hits the window. I don't know where I'm headed, but it's going to be magical and i can't wait to get there, so i must rest up.. 😪
@indigopentagram3330 sounds nice, appreciate your description.
I’m watching this, while playing “For the good times” Al Green in the background. It takes me back to my childhood in the 80s. I used to love to fall asleep in the car. It was the best sleep. Then when we made it home, it felt like I’d slept for an eternity.

Lucky to live in Denmark where the weather is like this at least once a week, truly a blessing.
I lived in San Antonio for 10 years and drove that road many times. I'm shocked you didn't pass any wrecks, since driving in rain in San Antonio is as deadly as driving in an ice storm anywhere else! Good job,
Appreciate you, my friend. Yeah, I try to drive as safe as possible.
Rain is the most beautiful gift of mother nature
Agreed

Is that the point? I like it. I am glad it relaxes other people enough to sleep!! And influences people to love mother nature!!
I have intense fear of highways , yall people are brave driving these roads and in rain mind you. Thank you for doing this video i hope that you always drive safely and God bless you for giving people less anxiety and better sleep, wonderful person
I always rather take a bus, but there are busses and bus drivers that can give you a heart attack

Thank you so much, kenziethemom! I'm glad my little drive could bring back some memories. I'm glad you're here!

My road rage would keep me from recording a video like this. Hats off to this guy
@GageCrowley thank you Gage!
I appreciate the real footage aspect here. There's bunch of fake ambient videos with short segments repeating in a loop. Real footage is hard to find and, in my experience, has a much better effect.
@NorkimomikroN I absolute agree.
Interesting this really does put me to sleep because you're driving through New Braunfels on your way to Austin a drive I've made many times in my life. Hello, it is real, I recorded my drive from San Antonio Tx to Austin Tx which took about 1 hour. I added some rain from my other rain in car recordings to enhance the sound. In future I plan to follow the storm for hours longer with the help of backup batteries. Appreciate the comment my friend!!
I sleep to this so I've never been able to check, but is this one 8hr long road trip?
