    Paul, your editing and content presentation keeps getting better and better. Again, you're thorough, and touch on important aspects of the airport terminal, lounge, and aircraft carrier. Gosh, we even got to read the wine selection! Well-done! Thanks!!! P.S. No more feet shots, please. 😊

    I know this isn't the most recent video, but I have gone through most of the existing ones I find interesting.
    I just wanted to let you know, you're kind of part of a nightly routine of mine. I get a cup of warm tea, I dim the lighting in my room and I watch one of your reports late at night before going to sleep.
    Your reviews hold a very high quality in my opinion, but are also quite soothing and relaxing to watch. Thanks!

    What I've seen so far seems like a great way to crawl to Australia on cheap business class flights and see parts of the world you possibly haven't seen before. Probably good way of gently easing yourself into the time difference as well. Food for thought, thank you Paul!

      In less sane moments I have toyed with the idea of going around the world on only narrow body aircraft 😬😬😬

    Thai was always one of my favourite airlines when I lived in that part of the world. All Asian airlines compete on friendly, efficient service, but I always found them amongst the most genuine and elegant in their delivery. The orchid for every business passenger has always been a nice touch. Glad you enjoyed your flight.

    I've flown Thai a few times, all on 777's always in economy and every time the thing that impressed me most was how attentive and friendly the crew was. Thai is an underrated airline.

    The Thai lounge at KL definitely looks much cleaner then the mess at BKK.

      Adam depends on which one you are in at BKK, Lounge A (domestic) is ghastly. C lounges (at least that’s what I find with the one near C2) aren’t terrible, Royal orchid lounge opposite D3 is the best, Royal Silk Lounge opposite D1 not terrible, a bit dark imo, E “Royal Silk” Lounge isn’t too good, Not sure about E “royal orchid” lounge because I’ve never visited it lol.
      Fun fact: SQ and BR (EVA) lounges are both catered by Thai Airways, by the same kitchen. I noticed even the omelettes were the same. Funny enough TG’s own lounge catering can sometimes be sub-par (not the case with new lounge but okay)

    Hi I know this is an old video. I've flown Thai Airways a lot and you're right the attendants are very attentive. I can also say the same for the ground staff. One time I had forgotten to padlock my bags in Bangkok and I quickly went to find a rep and told her my problem. She and the ground staff were very helpful, they found my bags before it was loaded in the plane. I was able to ID them from the bridge entrance as I was not allowed to go to the tarmac. They were kind enough to lock my luggage for me. I gave them a good report. Also in one flight from Bangkok to Manila one flight attendant was going around asking more than once if people wanted red wine or white wine. I decided to test her asked for brandy instead. She gave me two shots! Needless to say I was a wee bit tipsy at immigration. 😅 Glad you enjoyed your flight.

    I wanna try Thai over the Pacific after your review, I usually fly Cathay or Korean First over ocean flights from SFO My next trip to Thailand I will definitely be trying Thai. I've just started watching review videos and I think your videos are the best. You review different classes and I like that because I don't always travel first class, usually if the flight is under 8hrs I'll fly business or premium economy. Next the fact you review budget airlines excites me, although I steer clear of US budget carriers; whenever I plan to spend a month or more in Europe I usually fly Easy Jet and Ryan air, it's the best for quick hops I love it. The fact that you are reviewing Asian budget airlines is opening a door for longer stays in Asia.

    Just flew Thai in First from BKK-SYD. While the lounge isn't anything noteworthy it was quiet and empty. What was noteworthy is the 1 hour complimentary massage in the Royal Silk Spa. If you're connecting to a flight in First they will meet you on the jet way and drive you to the lounge.

    Flown BKK-MEL business with Thai many times the seats are great and same seats are used by Cathay both had great service. Qantas has really bad business seats on their international routes although I still have not been on a 787 with them yet but as don't want to risk a poor seat i will fly someone else.

  • @rollingtroll
    @rollingtroll 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The airport looks quite cosy. Nothing wrong with that :).
    Lounge looks weird, haha. Somehow a charming though.
    And that is a gorgeous livery indeed!
    Three point seatbelt? That seems highly uncomfortable at longer journeys.
    Got to love them taking a picture, haha.
    The remote looks like a cheap Playstation Portable knock-off.
    That arrival/gate information in the end is really smart! I'm surprised no one came up with that sooner.
    Buttery landing. Seems like a nice flight.

    • @Paul_Lucas
      @Paul_Lucas  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The three point seatbelt isn’t worn as such for the whole flight - the lap belt part can be separated and that’s fine for the cruise. You just need the three point bit for takeoff and landing!

    • @rollingtroll
      @rollingtroll 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was actually wondering about that. That makes sense.
      Still surprised about the three part though, I don't see whiplash or bashing your head into the dashboard happen in a plane anytime soon.
      If you ever find out (or already know) the logic behind this, I'll be glad to hear it!

    • @mh_nk7
      @mh_nk7 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Rolling Troll Three point belts are required in Thai’s long haul Business Class seats as part of a regulation in their air certificate to keep the passenger safe. Though as Paul said it can be detached during the flight but you have to wear it as 3 when you’re taking off or landing.

    Some years ago I was traveling to K.L. often via Singapore. The smallest aircraft Singapore had at the time was a 777-200. As I recall the flight from Changi to K.L. was about an hour. It actually took longer to get into K.L, from the airport than the actual flight.

    Hey Paul, I suggest that you fly Philippine Airlines to Manila in economy, Then fly to Dubai or Hongkong in Business. I recomended them as they

    Paul, did you use a different microphone for narrating this one? Your voice sounds a little muddier than on your older videos. Or, a different EQ curve on the audio as the overall audio content wasn't as "bright" (for lack of a better term) as usual. Great overall, as usual...

    Flew that route a few years ago with Air Asia (The Official Airline of Manchester United as we found out ), when the rail link into Thailand closed due to the riots and civil disturbances. An Interesting experience, given that we had to book the flight at the last minute in the Railway station shopping complex, and even though the travel people had both my wife and my passports, the names on the tickets bore no resemblance whatsoever to what was on our passports. I had become Todger Willi Cortez, so how we managed to fly!!!!! security not up to much, but in retrospect, probably better than the rail journey had been.... Singapore to KL, miles of factories and fields of Palm Oil Trees....glad your experience was better than ours...cheers Roger.

    Paul you forgot to mention that the Thai lounge at KUL lacks toilets (and showers) meaning you have to exit onto the upper concourse to go to the loo. Weird. TG is indeed a great option btwn KUL and BKK esp. compared to Malaysia Airlines. Dont overlook Royal Jordanian on this route. Pleasant surprise.

    Hi Paul, nice review! What do you think of KL airport security? My impression is that the security checks are just a formality there. The officers don't pay too much attention to the X-ray screen and don't stop people if the metal detector makes a sound. There is another security check before boarding, but it's pretty much like the others.
