Please do a video on 8.25x11... I am so confused right now with KDP and that size. My book is 8.5x11 (with bleed) and so I did the 8.25x11 (with bleed) and it looked good, but when I uploaded to the preview (to approve) KDP had shifted everything to the right. It doesn't make sense, please help???
I have Canva Pro and I simply use the ‘Resize’ to adjust the cover png to the right dimensions. It is certainly much more challenging! If I have the opportunity I will create a video for that unique size. Thanks for your comments.
@@globalselfpublishing Hi are we able to make these adjustments if we are using Book Bolt? I need to adjust the available 8.5 ×11 no bleed interior trim in book bolt to 8.25 × 11 no bleed. To upload it to KDP. And and it looks like my hardcover would need to be 16.9301in × 11.25in how can I adjust that in Book Bolt?
I've had the option for a while but I've only just started adding hardcover options for some of my best sellers. The first one has gone live this morning and I'm a bit concerned to see that the hardcover has replaced the softcover in the search results. This particular book is on the first page for its keywords but with the hardcover option being the one that now appears in the search it makes it look so much more expensive than the competition. People can't see that there's a softcover option unless they click on it and I think the price might put a lot of people off clicking. Have you found that the sales of the softcover versions for those books you've converted have fallen since you added the hardcover option? Sorry for such a long comment lol.
Its really wonderful. Can i convert blank comic books into hard cover book. Is it posssible that this will increase the sells of a particular book. I have published almost 10 no content notebook paperbacks but none of them make any sell. Whats the reason! they have nice covers and interiors also. I made their A+ content also and created my authors page. But none of above things attract buyers why. I cant afford paid promotions. What should i do.
If your comic book meets the hardcover specifications then yes, you can create a hardcover for that book. There are many reasons why your books may not be selling. You need to think of ways to promote your books if you can’t afford Amazon Ads because without any promotion, how will anyone ever know you have created the books?
So you deleted the pink template, but you now have a background of a blue template. So you didn't explain that portion of the video. If I delete my kdp pink outlined template, then what is left is just my book cover. Is there suppose to be my own replacement color of that pink portion that was deleted?
I apologise for not explaining better. The template used is just to ensure we are inside the guidelines for our writing and you have your pictures and background in the right places. You need to remove the template and just be left with your cover before saving as a PDF.
Can you please advise me about the pages for KDP? If I am formating a print-on-demand book with 250 written pages do I format the book cover and spine to accept 125 sheets?
As I noted in my previous notes, you format the book for 250 pages and disregard calculating for double sided pages. I use www.BookBolt.io to automatically create my book covers and this does all the calculations for me.
Please use this calculator: kdp.amazon.com/en_US/cover-calculator . It will tell you the exact dimensions for your spine. Just plug in 250 pages plus the other details it requests and that will give you everything you need. I've published over 350 books and have never had a problem. When you load your book to KDP it will tell you if you have something wrong but you should not have an issue.

You need to have the same manuscript size as your book cover. If your cover size changes, then you need to adjust your manuscript size as well when you are formatting it.
Hi, I got that but you have confused me now , when you clicked page turn Left to Right, I thought a normal page turn is right to left ? Am I wrong then
Yes, it is confusing but we read from Left page to right page and it’s not the actual way we turn the pages. If you read the following it may help with this: www.kdpcommunity.com/s/question/0D52T00005YOxajSAD/pageturn-right-to-left-or-left-to-right-for-hard-covers?language=en_US

Awesome content as always. I’ve been referring people to your channel, your content is brilliant. Wondering if you know anything about changes to Low Content Guidelines? I’ve heard Amazon will be removing content with only “blank” pages (ie only lines or graph paper etc) & no other content. I guess they want to remove all the lined journals in direct competition to their standard FBA products...
Hi Sienne, thanks so much for your amazing feedback and I greatly appreciate you referring others to my channel 😁. I did hear a whisper about this but it could also be rumour. It would be a MASSIVE call for them to cut out blank no content books as the revenue they would lose would be huge. It would also put off-side those publishers that mat have spent lots of $$ and time creating these books.
@@globalselfpublishing My pleasure to refer...Your content is truly the best I’ve found for low content. Maybe there is some truth to it then??!! Yeah I sold a few books at the beginning. Now my sales have stopped. I worked hard on my original journals. I don't have money for ads. I kept hearing it's so easy to make money with low content books and I was thinking about doing this for 2 years. Now I'm doing it, I am struggling and exhausted.

Thank you.
No problem and I appreciate you watching!
Hello sir, I just wanted to make sure, is the hardcover publishing process same as the paperback one?
There are some different technicalities with the cover formatting that are the biggest differences. These can be challenging at first to navigate.
The slightly larger dimensions for the case wrap hardcover is because the cover wraps slightly inside the book where it is glued in place.
Greet feedback and info David. Thank you.
Thankk uu , i have a guest book that i want to convert in hard cover but the problem in sizes ?
You can always adjust the size of the book using Canva but must be 75+ pages to be eligable for a hardcover KDP book.
awesome as usual, can i use another cover with hard cover??
You should use the same cover so you can link both the paperback and hardcover together.
@@globalselfpublishing okay than you will do that

I haven’t seen a drop in sales, in fact the hardcover over time has complimented the paperback really well and it’s just increased orders for me.

Can we do hardcovers for KDP kids books now?
You can create one but unfortunately it must be over 75 pages in length and this would be rare for a children’s illustrated book.
@@globalselfpublishing Yes, that makes sense. Thanks for your answer.
Yes, and kids books are usually color and color over 40 pages is quite expensive.
