    Sir, you are a genius.
All of a sudden the horn on my BMW X5 was going off intermittently when I was driving.
Saw this video so decided to take a look under the airbag.
I had exactly the same issue with the screw you reference having fallen out and shorting the horn contact.
Screw replaced and all good now.
    Massive help and money saved.
    Thanks again.

Thanks for this video. I had the same problem. Even the same screw that fell out. Followed your instructions and got it done in about a half hour.

Perfect. This is exactly what happened on our E46. It was even the same T20 Torx screw! All fixed in under 10 minutes. I left the airbag connected as this saves any risk of a warning light. I just rotated it upwards and supported it in the wheel. As said you absolutely MUST disconnect the battery. Angle the screwdriver handle end upwards about 20 degrees to make it easier to release the two catches, the blade should be edge on to you.

The exact same thing happened to me. This was the right screw and the left has only a couple tours remaining in place. So I put blue Locktite on both, tighted and VOILÀ! Well done, good advice!

The same bolt came loose so took me like 5 minutes to fix all this. Thanks again, you just saved me like a 100€

Thanks a lot for this video, since I had the same problem, it was hard to get notice of the spring as you stated, since any more strength you can get in the airbag it self (I thought so) the back of the airbag receipt is metal, so not a problem (but don't use to much force) after I felt it was very simple to get it off. In my "experience" wasn't a screw (all in place) but a washer, that I don't know where from it came from... but problem resolved! No more hoking around
    Thanks!!!

Had the same problem, screw was missing but also the plate on the left side was stuck and not flexible. I released the screw to enable the plate to move then re tightened and the problem was solved. Thanks for the help/

    Hello,
my steering airbag sticks out on the right side a bit. It looks terrible. I already took it off to have a look inside but everything looks normal.
Its since I buyed the car.
    Do you have any idea??

Is it the botton screw in the airbag mount that makes the horn go back after you push it?

I have a 1999 ford escort sedan with the same problem, is it possible the issue is inside the steering wheel? Would this hold true for other makes and models?

Angel Galvan sorry for the late response; but yes it could be the same issue. Please let me know if that was it!
