I met this retired Ford line worker. He built those Mustangs and loved everyone of them off that line. He always told me that story of how cool they were and how Ford couldn't build enough. Go Motown!
This video is more American than anything ive ever seen. This beats seeing helicopters and playing Fortunate Son. I probably return and watch this 3 times a year. GenXer

About 60 years later an old man will claim "My Mustang was made during the shoot of "Nowhere to run" music video, Martha scraped the center console herself.."
This video ROCKS!!!! Music videos before they became official in the '80s! This video shows this is not an everyday thing. Wouldn't see any of us going through the assembly plant groovin', but that could be why I like it!!! In the motor city itself! That's how the big "M" got it's name!!!!
I think staged or planned. Ie paint that center ish hood would of been dripping in the center and starved on leading edge and trailing. Overspray on everything. To many pefectly place cameras to be anything but planned. Agree great song / video!!!

I worked 34 years in ford's Liverpool England, my father died when he was 55 yrs old but like the black brothers spraying lead paint without any mask if Henry Ford had any humanity not only in Detroit and Liverpool England but every Ford worker an admission of industrial negligence.

Yes, and the line workers (and management) were not aware of them being there, and supposedly the workers shouted, "Get these women out of here. We got work to do!". That line stopped for nothing back then.
Reportedly the line workers weren't aware of the shooting of the video and said, "Get these women out of here, we got work to do". This was shot at the Dearborn, MI Ford assembly plant and that line kept moving. I wonder if some of the cars that they stepped into or rode it still exist today.

Hopefully, by miracle, they were able to retire and live long enough lives without respiratory illnesses or cancer. Where was the UAW on this?

I remember watching this TV special when it aired in '65. By the way Dubtracker and Mark Hogsett, back then they were simply known as Martha & The Vandellas. Using Martha's last name came later.
Black or white it was the same believe me spraying lead paint without breathing apparatus, Liverpool England Detroit believe me we were treated exactly the same by Henry Ford. Just another number so long as the production line never stopped. As I said before my father in Halewood Liverpool England sadly died 55yr old spraying lead paint without any mask. So let's remember all white and black who never got compensation for the negligence on behalf of HENRY FORD.
