    Thanks for the video. I will be really interested to see a full review and doing it as a comparison with the Torin 7 again would be great. I need a transition shoe and currently use a TOPO 4mm for this but the ‘zipfoam’ midsole is way to hard for me. I’m worried that if I get the FWD with EVA it’ll be too firm. I’ll get the Torin’s anyway but can’t do all of my miles in them as my Achilles isn’t ready for that yet. Can’t wear non foot shape brands anymore as my feet have splayed and they would be way too squashed (eg can’t run in Kinvara anymore)
    When do you hope to get the full reviews out? Thanks again

    I picked up both recently...but have not run in either yet. I probably give the Torin 7 the edge on step in feel....I was a little put off by the thick padding on the side of the heels in the FWD. I decided to remove the insoles for a bit more space....and that seemed to reduce the excessive pressure I was feeling from the heel pad on the outside of my heel. Just seems like too much padding in my opinion. But I've decided to keep them...they're growing on me as far as just walking around...so we'll see how they do once I take them out for a run.

      I have Torin 6 and Fwd. I also haven’t run in them but it seems the FWD toe box feels slimmer than the torin. Not sure if it’s the padding that’s making it so.

    Hi TD Miller! Thank you very much for your top videos: short and to the point 👍. Unfortunately, I had no good experience with the Torin 5 🫤: the upper material loosened on the side at the bottom of the outer bale / sole (...where the shoe always bends) and in addition, parts of the outsole have also loosened... Hence my question in the round: is the Torin 7 more durable? 🤔Sporty greetings! JP

      I've honestly never had much issues with durability. That being said, I don't think Altra changed much in their quality. So I expect the same quality, but maybe I've been lucky with nothing breaking prematurely.

    Great video! Between both, which one would you say it's better for someone who overpronates a bit? Thanks!

    • @TDMiller
      @TDMiller  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion, the Torin would be best. I overpronate heavily in my right foot, and I notice my foot collapsing more in the FWD making the rest of my body compensate on a longer run.

    Hi TD, thanks for your Altra shoe reviews. I'm interested in Altra road (and trail in the future) shoes, but I don't know which model to choose. Currently I run in Nike Pegasus 38, but I would like to try Altra (because of the footshape). Which model do you recommend for easy/long runs? Is Torin 7 the choice?

    • @TDMiller
      @TDMiller  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! I'm no expert in Nikes, but the Pegagus does have a 10mm drop. So going straight to a zero drop shoe might be quite a transition if your feet aren't used to it. The Torin is a great shoe to start with. They feel great for long easy runs. That's exactly when I choose to wear them. Alternatively you could look at the FWD Experience, which has a similar stack height and footshape, but a 4mm drop. Or even the Rivera 3, which has a less stack (28mm), zero drop and is a little less wide.

      Thanks for the quick reply. I'll have a look at Rivera 3 as well. Regarding the drop, I'm also worried about zero drop, but I would like to try it (from time to time I wear Be Lenka barefoot shoe for hiking). Or maybe I could try FWD with 4mm for the beginning.

    Aside for the different height between men and women shoe, change something else?
    I wonder if try the woman shoe (to have a lower height) can I replace the Saucony Kinvara 13.

      @TDMiller  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The footshape is also supposed to be slightly different. They do this because a woman's foot supposedly has a narrower heel and midfoot, a higher instep, a longer arch and a different distance between the toes. In essence, this makes them slightly more narrow, but to be honest, I'd doubt you'd notice that much. Just remember to convert the men's to women's sizing.

    Did i understand correctly that both have identical fit in toebox area?

    • @TDMiller
      @TDMiller  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's definitely my impression! I didn't take the insoles out in the vid, but they're identical as well.

      I run in both and I'd say the FWD is slightly snugger in the midfoot, but in the toebox it is indeed similar.

    As much as it irritates me that altra made a 4 millimeter offset shoe with a rocker design I can’t decide between the fwd or torin

    • @TDMiller
      @TDMiller  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Torin will always have the edge for me, but I can't blame people for going for the FWD. It's a good looking shoe.

      I unfortunately can’t do zero drop… I tried the Torin 7 and it was super comfortable, but after about three hours of wearing them, my hips were killing me… I ended up getting the Altra Experience a few days ago and the 4 mm drop has now allowed me to enter into the Altra world! They are AWESOME and I plan on buying the Wild version when they come out in May:) They feel amazing
