Im not a runner but walking barefoot and wearing minimal shoes has eliminated almost all the foot pain i used to have.

If you pace yourself, i mean REALLY pace yourself, and run barefoot, or in ultraminimalist shoes... And have good form... There should be no reason why you hate running. You're either running too fast, or wrong. No pain, no gain is effing dumb. Life is long - slowly build up to your ancestors baseline.

Being able to feel the texture and nuance of the ground, especially on trails, is one of the greatest aspects of barefoot running.

I dont know if I'm more shocked at the fact that he runs barefoot, or that there is a "walking robot community. "

i would have like to hear more about how barefoot running influences robotics. As a fan of barefoot it always frustrates me that so many robots seem to have this big inflexible slaps for feet.

Am I the only one getting sick of the barefoot running movement!?? Like I get it it’s natural but you can’t tell me it’s natural to run on pavement with bare feet?? Maybe if you had some nice dirt or a sandy beach but don’t look me in the eye and tell me running barefoot on the sidewalk is good for your feet!!!

Someone should make a treadmill that trains feet to withstand terrane.

One good author i've read for balanced running and walking is Danny Dreyer and his book: Chi Walking.
