The lady singer is Lata Mangeshkar also known as the nightingale of India. She was a playback singer who career spanned over 70 plus years. She died recently in her 90s and the whole of India mourned. Tributes were led by PM Modi of India. She is regarded as one of the greatest musical icons of India. Her voice is so powerful and crystal clear.
The best part is she was 73 while singing this song also she never use to wear slippers while singing her song as she used to worship it and as we take off pur slippers before going to temple to worship in the same way she used to tak off her slippers before every recording or events till her last song was revorded at the age of 92

Growing up, I couldnt understand why people liked her voice! My dad forced me to listen to her, now I wish I could sing even a a tiny bit like her. THere is something so fascinatinig with Indian singing,

I agree completely. People need to know lata became lata because of her iconic songs in 50s 60s . Lot of people on internet react to same drum beats of her songs. Songs from 50s ..lata from original recording would be best as in those recordings were 1 take do you can see her abilities

Hi Doctors, let me introduce you to some facts. Lata Mangeshkar is known as Goddess of Music Saraswati's incarnation. Today you heard her when she is 73 year old. Please listen to her when she was 18, 25, 35, 45, 55 and even 65. You travelled to horizon with her voice. She died in 2022. One mistake that Oscar committed was not to recognise her even in her death. She didnt expect that, human dignity did. A singer loved by nearly 3 billion people around the world! Merely because you are running a show, it does not establish Michael Jackson a better singet than Lata mangeshkar, whose notes are not even understood by petty Oscar deciding table. Oscar since then is history for me. I dont watch or care about it and millions more dont. It is dying a natural death. Unless Oscar learns what art forms in films are and which is the highest standard, they are only fooling themselves. In one line...it was the most fallen undignified act by Oscar team ever. They must apologise else they will sink. The wrath of almighty does fall. We indians dont need Oscar recognition, the uninformed world over do. What is the worth of an agency like Oscar if it cannot spread art in films.
