Thanks Ron
Hey Danny! Love the recap videos! Been doing a lot of carving, thanks for the mind fuel!
Thanks I was hoping they’d be well received. Thanks for watching!
You do great work on your videos, I'm new to fish decoy carving and really enjoy your content.
Thanks. I’m glad you like them. And thanks for watching.
Not many people if any at all use fish decoys here in the south. But I’ve thought about making some just because. I also want to do a few big swim baits at some point
@@Danny_Harris-Arts I'm about an hour south of the Canadian border in Minnesota. So almost half the year we have ice on the lakes. Nothing like seeing a northern pike come into a decoy that you carved.
@@travishanson2884 yeah I’ve watched videos of people using them it’s pretty cool watching them spear one that gets close enough.
when lakes freeze over here it’s only a 1/4 inch or so for a couple days. 😅
I remember back in the late 60s early 70s lakes freezing over thick enough to walk on.
I actually ice fished one time. We chopped a hole and caught a few crappie and bluegill but we were using tiny jigs
Dan where can I get that Dremel like tool you use? I have a Dremel but need to get that more heavy duty one like you use. Thanks OH by the way ...what is it called?
The main one I use is called a Foredom SR. And I have a couple different hand pieces that I use. One is set up for 1/4 in shaft bits the other has a chuck key type bit holder that will take 3/32nd to 3/16th in shaft bits. You can order one directly from Foredom and I believe you can find them on Amazon as well. I bought mine used from a friend. You may also find them on places like Facebook marketplace.
I also have a Marathon high speed rotary tool that I use for fine detail work. I’ll be using it on part two of this series.
I also have a video on the tools I use most if you’d like to watch it. I go over in detail on the Foredom and the Marathon as well the most often used bits and burrs I use.
