    I got tickled that you apologized for the sound of distant car horns honking and the gentle yelp of your dog….all the while you’re in close range of a squalling Dremel saw. 😆😉
    Great vid, truly. 😊

    Very neat, and easy to follow. That said, your mastery of dremel sculpting really shows.

    Hello Kevin, a late starting beginner carver here and must say your tutorial presentation is an absolute boon for me. It won't bother me how long anything will take as it'll be a hobby plus being retired only god will decide if time becomes an issue 😊 I like your do it as you like approach - may not be good but may not be wrong either. Like it, thanks for sharing, regards, Tony (UK) P.S. I will only be using a Dremel.

    What was the total length, from top to bottom, of the wood spirit you just carved on the cedar post. Also what was the width of the wood spirit. You are certainly a professional carver. Your videos are always clear to understand. I am a beginner and I learn a lot from watching your videos. Keep up the GREAT JOB!

      It's GREAT to hear from you my brother! I have been truly worried about you and now I am feeling somewhat better. Please post when you can. I have been fighting pinched nerve in my neck for a couple of weeks. I have a big Christmas show coming up and I am dead in the water. Can't wait to see your next video.

    Very helpful and well-explained. Is what you are holding an extension to the Dremel? It looks thinner and easier to handle than the Dremels I have looked at online like the 4000. The 4000 looks thick and cumbersome to hold for finer carving.

    Is it okay if they are treated wood?

    • @stixandstonescarving
      @stixandstonescarving  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've carved treated wood but you shouldn't breath it , i recommend untreated cedar like this . It wont rot and the bugs leave it alone also.

    • @AmyJo143
      @AmyJo143 ปีที่แล้ว

      @stixandstonescarving okay cool beans. Thank you. I have a really old piece but not sure if it is treated or not.

    • @stixandstonescarving
      @stixandstonescarving  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AmyJo143 i'd wear a mask just in care that's all. most cedar posts come untreated around me so you may not have a treated one but you never know.

    I'm surprised by the mastery you have with the Dremel, it looks like a 4000; One concern: Are you wearing a dust mask? In all cases it is recommended, but especially when working with old recycled wood, due to fungi and bacteria.
